Book of Proverbs ... The Original Think and Grow Rich Book?

Think and Grow Rich, by Napolean Hill is one of the best selling self improvement books of all time. It was based on the principles of some of the riches men in America at that time, the 1920's and 30's.

However, it was largely based on the best selling Book of all time, more specifically the Book of Proverbs. Written by the richest man in history. King Solomon.

His richest was so vast, the Queen of Sheba (histories first woman billionaire) fainted at the sight of King Solomon's wealth.
(See 2 Chronicles 9:1 -5).

Actually, I've always thought that "How to Win Friends and Influence People" was a rewrite of Proverbs.

It is common knowledge in certain circles that Napoleon Hill credited Charles Haanel the author of The Master Key system for inspiring him to write Think and Grow Rich. Which incidentally was rumoured to be a commercial flop when it was originally release under a different title.

You're right it, if you read then alone side each other you'll find many similarities.

The Book of Proverbs seems to have all of the answers. I plan on doing a study through the entire book with my kids.

Often when I read a personal development book, certain scriptures from proverbs will go through my mind. "As a Man Thinketh" is right out of Proverbs.

Here's what's interesting to me, with all of Solomon's wisdom and his great teachings, he still had weaknesses that negatively impacted his life. He even went against some of the very teachings he laid out in Proverbs. There is a very powerful lesson in that, imo.

I have never read the book of proverbs from beginning to end, but he surely was a wise man, and if it keeps poverty away to read the full book, I sure will! Thanks

There definitely is. Ecclesiastes is the flip side. Advice from a man who had it all, experienced the emptiness of the riches and fame, and talks about what really has meaning in life.

Solomon is one of my favorite characters in the Bible... he was the richest man on the planet, worth about 40B by todayz standardz. He seems highly qualified to speak on the matter of finances.
