Being grateful will help us to be more aware of our surroundings. It also help us to focus on what we have instead of what we lack, which is a key to happiness.
Today I am grateful for... I am grateful that my good friend just came back from Australia and I am able to spend lots of time with him. I am grateful that I have such a supportive family which I can rely on. I am grateful that I have a enough food, clothes and shelter. Your turn... |

I am grateful for:
My music - fiddling and playing the harp, which have brought and continue to bring me many delightful memories and friends. It's an honor to play at weddings and Senior Centers! My writing - the delight of copywriting, of helping make people's lives just that much better. I remember helping a stranger buy her first harp - she'd been practicing the bagpipes (!) beside a stream on her farm and wanted something easier to play. Enter harp. A few months later, I got a letter from her- her neighbor told her how happy he was that the sick cow down by the stream across her field was no longer in so much pain! ;-) My family - my Dad just turned 85. He and my mom are still able to live on their own in a retirement community. They are exactly where they need to be and have many friends. And help is just a buzzer away. My house - a whole acre! After living in Wheaton, Land of the Sniper, this country life is truly a delight. Snakes in the patio, bats swooping down over my wonderful swimming pool at dusk, a flock of Cedar Waxwings passing through that pause and grace our cedar trees with their shimmering beauty for 3 days every fall and spring.. I love it! Oooops - that's 4 things. Sorry [Not!] lol Dot |

Three things that I'm grateful for today are...
1. I got up this morning! 2. My family 3. The opportunity to know about IM. So many people would be able to survive in this economy if they just knew that there are other options out there that will enable them to make money & put food on the table, which doesn't require that they get another J.O.B. |

Oh my God, how much time do I have? OK, for starters here I go:
1) I'm grateful for my health 2) I'm grateful to have spent Christmas with wonderful family 3) I'm grateful for the new year which brings the opportunity to become, contribute and achieve far more than I did this year How's that? |

1.) I am grateful that I have achieved a level of success that caters to the needs of my family - my babies, my husband, and even myself.
2.) I am grateful for the friends I have made online and the support they have given me in reaching my goals. 3.) I am grateful to God for showing me what life is all about. If I hadn't had my kids, I would not understand and I often wondered about it. |

1)Yesterday my house was leaking from ice dams on the roof from all the wonderful holiday snow we had.
I bought a roof rake to pull most of it off so, I didn't have to sit in a water soaked sofa while watching HellBoy II (Did you do know that after you get it off the roof you have a 6 foot pile on the sidewalk you need to shovel away?) And the most important part is I did NOT have a heart attack busting my ass, at 55, because the other tenant was too freakin busy to help. 2)It was 50+ degrees today so, the 8 foot high snow pile is melting so I can now park my car again. And with God's humor he melted all the roof snow off the other tenants roof without them ever having to shovel it off with a roof rake like me so, the 4 hours I worked on it was not even necessary, ahHAHAHAHAH. 3)The lady downstairs went away for the weekend so, I don't have to listen to never ending yip yap barking from her little rat dog for a few days. Are those O.K.? |

Thanks so much for this thread!
1. I am thankful for God, His love and that He fulfillis His Word. 2. I am thankful for the Internet experience I have experienced over the last year (a year ago I was totally broke and had no idea what I would do to pay my bills). 3. I am thankful for generous and good-hearted people (some don't even know the goodness in their hearts), including my cherished family, friends, fellow church members and business associates! God bless you all in the New Year! |

Believe me! If I can do it, so can you! How a grandma made $12k+ in 5 weeks on her first IM offer spending less than $100! |

And I was debating what kinds of things I would list as my 3 things -- something big, like my health and being alive? -- or something small, like hot tea on a cold day? -- and then I realized that you were really *on* to something... Aren't we supposed to find ways to be grateful even for those things and experiences that we don't 'like'? ? ? ? Something along the line of 'blessings in disguise.' I'm really having a bit of a challenge with this one, but there is *something* in this.... I'm just not entirely sure how I can look at some things differently to be grateful in some way -- the example that keeps coming to me: how can I be 'grateful' when my neighbour lets their dog take a dump in my yard? (one of today's petty annoyances) What would happen if I found ways to be grateful for stuff like that? Is it just that I haven't looked hard enough for the bless in the mess?

I am grateful that I had some food at lunch table, many people are not that luck, remember this always. Do have some respect for food.
I am grateful that I had some good talk with my mother about serious issues in life and she understood my point. I have such supportive parents. They are just great. I am grateful that I am free today and can do what I ever I wish. I am not bound to anyone yet. ![]() -Arief- |

Simply saying my children already makes 5 things I am grateful for.
I am also greatful to having dislocated my shoulder (weird eh?) to find a deeper rooted problem I may not have known about otherwise. I am greatful for all I have been given and all the things that have happened and continue to happen in my life, for without them I would not be the person I am today. |

I am grateful that I have the opportunity to make a difference in my life and the life of others.
I am grateful for all family and friends that I have been blessed with. I am grateful for the obstacles that have been placed in my life, they have made me stronger. We are all blessed in one way or another. I am reminded of the person who complained they had no shoes; until they met a person who had no feet. |

I believe that the more we are grateful for what we have, the more we will be given in life. Today, I am grateful for
1. My family-my loving mom and dad, my cat. 2. Being alive, independant and free to pursue whatever I want to ( is that counted as 3?) 3. The opportunity to work from home. I love the Internet for making this possible.. Thanks for the thread and for the opportunity to post and share. |

I believe it would be great if we can show our gratitude everyday and be happy with what we have instead of being unhappy about what we don't have.

The response had been great in this thread, but do you know why do we want to show gratitude when we can actually be selfish?
Research had shown that showing gratitude can make us more positive and happier. I had written an article more extensively on this point, you can read more for more information. Why Show Gratitude When We Can Be Selfish | Hit Your Goals Cheers Vincent Personal Development Blogger |
