Hi Guys As time goes by, I'm getting more into the Tony Robbins type stuff, which has then lead to NLP. As positive as I try and be about things, there are always limiting beliefs that creep back, which is probably due to something deep rooted. I know a tiny bit about modeling, and some of the basic principles of NLP, but I would like to get more into the side of "re-programming your brain" so that you can get better results - sub-consciously. I've been looking on youtube, and also amazon, there's DVDs by Richard Bandler, and a few others, but it is hard to know which one would achieve what I want. Any suggestions to DVDs, books, online videos, websites would be really appreciated. Many thanks Phil |

For sure there is a lot of NLP stuff out there. Difficult to know where to begin. One book i can recommend is "Frogs into princes" by Bandler himself.

Hey Phil. Awesome you are getting into NLP/Hypnosis and there are plenty of Master Practitioners (myself included) on this forum. Some are even trainers (I am almost there) but the most important thing is RESULTS. I can honestly say that the BEST way to truly learn is...a live training event. The books, the DVDs, Tony, are all great but in person with a great trainer is truly the best way to understand and utilize the techniques for yourself and others. I've noticed you are in the UK, which has PLENTY of training courses, some by Bandler himself. To me that is the best place to start. After that, a simple browsing online and you will find 100's of great stuff out there: Robert Dilts NLP Home Page which is by Robert Dilts who is a great guy all around and a powerful, deep trainer. NLP Techniques & Courses | What is Neuro Linguistic Programming | Learn NLP techniques, Hypnosis, Self-Hypnosis. (mostly stuff by Bandler). And then plenty more. And of course the books by the people themselves and add on stuff by Steven Andreas and his wife, Stephen Gilligan for hypnosis and so on and so forth. Good luck and if you ever want to learn more, hit me up. (PM that means )Quote:

Hey Phil, Sounds like you're asking for the techniques more than the NLP mindset. As an NLP trainer, I find many people confuse when to apply each. Techniques are useful, depending on the context, and really work when applied with a framing of behavioral flexibility and sensory acuity that comes with working through the mindset. If you want to learn how to do the techniques to help other people, the resources mentioned above are a great place to start. You can also use them for self-application, you just need to go into it with that framing in mind and have the self-awareness any adaptability to do what needs to be done on both sides of the trance. Many people find that they can either run the techniques and track what is going on or they can sit back, enjoy the ride, and analyze later. There are a few resources that I use myself when I'm wanting to take that ride, but most of them are embedded in larger course contexts. Bandler's Neurosonics CD set comes to mind as a great ride for the better. I agree with Roy that the best way to benefit is from some one-on-one interaction. While the Milton model can be used to make very flexible recordings, there is way more possibility available to a skilled practitioner to feedback live on your specific situation. And here's a thought for you to mull over: What are you presupposing in your original post that may have been preventing you from realizing how easily you can recognize that your past issue is already history? Have you considered just doing a course on it to learn more about it? You can also network/bounce ideas off other people as opposed to just reading a book or listening to a course.

Thanks for your reply. yeah, maybe I'm confusing things. I actually want to learn it to apply it to myself, rather than to others. Mainly about dispelling disbeliefs about abilities. I was brought up very well, but also phrases like "money doesn't grow on trees" and "that's how the other half live" were common place. I'm also paranoid about ever going in debt, I've never been in debt in my life which is great, but at the same time, if you look at people who have become mega successful, it wasn't by keeping all their money under the matress. Know what I mean? So, I've been looking at anchoring techniques, specifically where you can trigger a feeling off on demand. But also, my real interest would be in how to re-wire my brain to become more abundant minded, in everyday life. I'm starting to wonder if this is something that would be done via hypnosis? I assume NLP is linked to that, or am I getting totally confused? Many thanks Phil

Check out NLP mp3 NLP Hypnosis Downloads FREE NLP Products - It is FULL of interviews for all manner of NLP and related topics, some you pay for but many are free. As for anchoring, my old mentor from many years ago Michael Breen did a series specifically on anchoring - I believe its the NLP-Times guys who promote it and this is the squeeze page for the free stuff. (not an affiliate link) Enjoy! Michael

Everyone is different. From your question I gather that you want to apply NLP to your self? I am a Master Practitioner but find a lot of the techniques have limited effect on me. I have however found self application of the language really works on me, particularly sleight of mouth. Doug O'Brien and has a great audio series on this for about £50. |

and I got to know him a bit. Which reminds me, I should take him out to lunch soon...don't they say if you want to become rich, take a rich man out to lunch? The same apply to any niche right? ![]() And Jon, I also agree, that not all of the techniques connect with everyone. There are many reasons for it. But to repeat the words of Robert Dilts when asked what is NLP..he said.. Whatever works.

Hi Phil - just wanted to let you know about a great book called Secrets of the Millionaires mind by T Harv Ecker - also available audio. Its easy to read and talks alot about your money blue print - Im an NLP Prac myself and have aligned alot of what the author speaks of to NLP elments. Going back over what you were talking about with the way you think about money. this was my exact problem because My mother always spoke about wealthy people as being bad people so sub consiously I thought that would be bad also. its amazing how damaging that can be.. This particular book gave me a great awareness about thsi blueprint and seeing as how awareness is curative it can be the first step in the right direction to your re-programming. Best of luck with your search. |
