Mistakes
Human make mistakes and it is guaranteed that everyone will make mistakes whether it is big or small. Making mistakes are just part of our life and the important thing about making mistakes is how we look and do about it. There are times when I make a mistakes and I just kept fussing over it. I found that this is a total waste of my time and it drains my energy which can be put into better use. The fussing over my mistakes caused me to have low energy level and when this happen, everything seems to go against me. I find that concentrating too much on my mistakes doesn't help me and I believe that we should learn not to cry over spilled milk. Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Whenever we make a mistake, it is hard to not think about it. Think about it if you must, but make sure that you pick up valuable lessons from it and move away from it. Instead of beating ourselves up when we make a mistake, the first thing I believe we should do is to accept our mistake and believe that to err is to be human. Only after when we had accepted our mistakes, we will be able to proceed to the 2nd step which is to pick up valuable lessons in our mistakes. After this stage, we should know what cause it and how to prevent it from happening again. The 3rd step will be to think about what are the possible solutions to help you handle the mistake that you created. The last step is to allow relieve yourself of this mistake and let go of it. By letting it go, you are removing worries from your life and not letting it to bog you again. Crying over spilled milk doesn't help and by being able to learn from our mistakes and let go of it will be the smarter thing to do. Cheers Vincent Personal Development Blogger |

Btw, I believe our modern education totally goes against this idea that making mistakes are good because they totally condemn mistakes and they always punish whenever we made a mistake.
What do you think about it? Cheers Vincent Personal Development Blogger |

Very true Vincent.
The best lessons I've learned are the ones where I've messed up the most. If you make yourself stop for a second, and instead of thinking about the mistake, focus on what you've learned, you'll find yourself on the best coaching program available.

I was reading an article the other day about why people don't buy, why they don't mistakes, ect. And research from the article says the "fear of regret" is the main culprit. Once you get past the fear of regret and start making mistakes life can change. Nothing revolutionary or new, but its something to think about to. Can help you in personal life and with sales.

Have you heard about "learn from you mistake"?This quote is really true because mistake is the great mentor. Mistakes can teach us to minimize doing the same wrong thing. It can help us to think first before doing something. And in that way, it can help us to achieve some small achievements.

I am reading a book by Tom Hopkins entitled, "How to Master the Art of Selling." It is a great book on sales. Even if you have been selling for years, I highly recommend it. In it, he has what he calls:
The Creed of Champions "I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed, and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying." I am a great example of learning from my own mistakes... |

Good thread!
I have never been bothered by my mistakes - and I make plenty! I just think that no-one is perfect so....... my best advice is make mistakes - plenty of them! The key is to say sorry if needed and then dont do it again! Learn by your mistakes and you will go far. Also - if you are too scared to make mistakes you will never achieve because you will never really try! Kym |

I totally agree with you and I would like to share what Michael Jordan had to say... "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." Because of the failures (mistakes) that he made, he finally succeed. That is why we should always embrace mistakes. Cheers Vincent Personal Development Blogger

Hello Omari Taylor here,
I agree that mistakes do contribute to our success. Without mistakes no one learns. Rather it was you that made the mistake or someone else. The thing is that everyone learns from that mistake. Mistakes make you strong and do things more intelligently in the future. Things will not always go as planned and stuff will go wrong. When people want to change their lives and be successful, that is what usually happens. It called life. But if you have a powerful "Why" and don't dwell on your mistakes and keep pushing you will be successful. |

I have read a lot of books from succesful peopple, and many of them say, they have learn't more from their mistakes than their successes. I have found that when i think back at the times i tried new things, it was when it didn't work out that i find out why it didn't work and therefore learn from that mistake.

Mistakes make you stronger as long as you reflect and learn from them. Don't just blow them off as misguided fate always. Look to the future, and use what you've learned through the mistakes.

I agree that life does not always goes as planned. In life, obstacles do happen and no one can expect a life that is perfect without mistakes. When we make mistakes, we need to be able to accept it and walk away from it wiser and stronger. Quote:
I love your example. Simple and effective in getting the point across. Thanks! Quote:
Mistakes are definitely part of our life and it serve it purpose when we pick up valuable lessons from it. In order to achieve success, mistakes are part of the Ultimate Success Formula. Quote:
It is definitely not too late to discover this. As long as you know it now, you can start living life to the fullest. Good luck!Quote:
I definitely agree with what you said. It is only when we gotten negative feedback then we start to learn about what works and what don't. Quote:
I can say most if not all of the successful people make mistakes before becoming who they are today. So whenever we make mistakes, just remember that each mistakes we are making and learning from are taking us a step nearer to our success. Quote:
" Don't just blow them off as misguided fate always. " I like this sentence that you wrote. Whenever we make mistakes, do not blame our fate and just walk off from it without learning anything. By doing that we are only making a larger mistake compared to the previous one. Cheers Vincent Personal Development Blogger

When I want to do something, but I don't know how, I'm doing that just how I think is better, even if this is a big mistake. If is a mistake, then I will know how to do to succeed next time. Anyway, doing that mistake is better then do nothing!

Activity generally always beats inactivity, as long as we act in the proper consciousness. Acting with the consciousness of success will always bring success, even if there are mistakes along the way. So, it's important to keep that mentality.

Hi Vincent,
I am feeling too much motivated after reading your "MISTAKES". I have done thousands of mistakes and keep on doing. But never enjoyed my mistakes that much. But after reading the article and the comments on it, I am now enjoying many past mistakes. Thanks |

I'm stubborn as a mule, which is a pretty bad trait to have online. The fact is, I've made huge mistakes; each one opened a new path to wisdom. A path I would never have discovered without a glitch along the way.
