Hi, this is actually my first post. I am excited about being in this group. Your question was intriguing so I will tell you I have a Ph.D in Psychology. What are you hearing from others? I also would love to know our resources.

I have a Bsc in Computer Science

I was really bad in my Software Engineering modules - I hated the programming

I prefer Adobe CS4 - should have taken a Bsc in that would help me loads now!

Amen. It's so weird how prevalent the mentality is that you need to be college educated to do anything, especially considering the cost. Spending 6 months and dropping about $1,000 I have learned more since I got laid off than I remember learning in college. This is one of the top 100 U.S. universities I'm talking about, too.

M.A. in political science, among some other degrees.

Of course, this thread is going to be skewed towards those with a history of higher education, because it's a place for us to brag.

Here's a more relevant question IMHO...

-> How many people got a degree and are making more than $100,000/yr as a direct result of that degree?

-> How many don't have a degree and are making $100,000+?

Don't get me wrong, I think college can be useful in some ways, but look at all these college grads in here...looking for a way to make more money

You are right, I am looking to make more money. But I differ on your last comment - I am NOT here to look for a way to make money but to look for ways to fine tune a way I KNOW already. It is my belief that this (and other) forums help you get closer to experts, but not give you a way or two on a platter. I am sorry.

High school here - one year of Journalism at College.

Wish I hadn't wasted the year really.

The most successful person I personally know - dropped out of high school. I don't recommend it but it did pique my curiosity when he told me.

I think one problem with school is it is very limiting in certain ways. My brother had difficulties reading and writing - but he is like a prodigy when it comes to things like carpentry and mechanical stuff. That should have been nurtured.

I've got a Batchelor of Science in Computer Science & Management Science.

I'd be lucky if I could remember much about either of them now. Got bored of software development a few years ago and turned to internet marketing instead.

Cheers,

I spent 3 years studying Aerospace Engineering but only passed 1.5 years worth of subjects. I think I knew it was time for me to leave when my physics lecturer started to bring me coffee so I wouldn't fall asleep in his lectures.

And I'm pretty sure I still hold the record for the worst mark ever at the Defence Force Academy. So a formal education isn't necessary for IM success. That said, I am very well educated. I own about 1000 books and read about 1-2 a week.

Anyway, I've been doing IM for about 3 years now and make more than engineers 20 years older than me. And I don't think they have the fun I do

and none of that has anything to do with success as being a Warrior.

If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have gone to college. I'd have done my own studying and educated myself just like I did to learn Internet Marketing.

Make it a great day!

A cross-cultural BA in Communications...

2 years of it in England.

1 year in the US.

In England they make you work like a dog writing 10,000 word dissertations.

In America, they give you multiple choice pop quizzes. And the education costs about 5 times more... go figure.

Nice to see so many people with such varied backgrounds.

I'm two thirds of the way towards my first degree ("history, philosophy and sociology of science" - bit of a mouthful) and all being well, will be doing a Ph.D. after it. These are, of course, good qualifications to be an internet marketer and writer.

Agreed. Have a Master's yet unemployed, considered overqualified for the positions I seek. Teacher in a world that has no desire for experienced educators like me with a long list of credentials. Next. Hire the 20 y/o college grad, much easier on the budget, then speak loud and long about how much we VALUE education...blah...blah...blah...

I got halfway through a degree, however I figured if I'm not going to give it my all, then there is no point in completing (or failing!).

I'm more hands-on approach, I don't see a degree as a ticket to a job.

Indeed so. And you must be studying sciences, I think, rather than arts or literature, to have misspelled "sentence", "sense" and "you're" all in the same line.

It's a bit ridiculous to pull people up on spelling, do you know that many top entrepreneurs are dyslexic? Branson is one example, so it doesn't count for anything that you've pulled him up over that, just makes you look petty.

What, even in a thread specifically discussing education-levels? I was hoping the obvious irony would exculpate me of any apparent pettiness. But obviously not.

Maybe so, I just dislike it when people pull people up over their spelling in forums. Education isn't exclusive to being great at English, you'll find that many top CPAs and Business People with top degrees will have terrible English skills, that's why they delegate. All I'm saying is people will resent you if you pull them up over spelling, it's pretty demeaning.

High School along with certification from AHA, masters training certificate in NLP and mediation. But the most valuable diploma I have is a PHd in results. Self appointed of course.

You know what happens to all the straight A's grads?
-They become University academics

- Straight B's become management consultants.

- The straight C's go into business/industry/public sector...and end up employing the other two!

High school drop out and the funny thing is that I love to learn. Constantly looking for knowledge and information I can learn and adapt to.
