Of course. A little humor in your promotion can make you seem less robotic and more personal.

It depends what are you promoting. Sometimes good sense of humor is welcome, but sometimes you have to be serious

    Humor can actually decrease conversions,

It's better to just be serious and straight to the point. Keep in mind though that you can still be frank with people and add personality to your sales copy.

Humor is a funny one as people's differ completely, for example I really can't stand 'Two and a Half men' but it's a massive hit!

I can remember when The Rich Jerk came out and his marketing techniques had people talking and it worked well but it could have easily gone the other way. I think a sprinkle of humor would be the safest option and as someone else has said it really does depend on what you are promoting.

It is true you have to pay attention to the situation. that is just plain common sense, but a bit of humor helps relieve pressures you might be dealing with.

Humor can be great way to add some personality to your sales message however if you do this wrong and have not built up a relationship with your audience then you can completely drop the ball.

From my experience humor is best used on a "warmed" list that is already familiar with who you are and what you do.

If others can tell me how to do this with a "cold" audience I would like to know because I have experienced some conversion decreases when I tried to add my sense of humor.

Perhaps I am just not that funny to those that do not know me? Perhaps.

        Thanks,

        Richard

I see what you mean about the warm and cold viewers. Your humor might be in how you design the web page maybe that is how to overcome a cold audience.
