What Brought You To The "World" Of Internet Marketing?

I always wondered how everyone else found internet marketing?

Was it by accident? Was it because an event happened in your life that you somehow found making money online was possibly?

So what brought you here?

To be honest, I witnessed a personal success story take place in front of my eyes and I thought, "Yes it's possible" and dove straight in headfirst!

I bounced over a few different areas before I got to internet marketing per se. My friend from elementary school brought up this website that would pay you to work online, and I did a bit of research and ended up at project payday. I then found some offers and went through some products for real estate flipping, but I find that it wasn't my thing...and somehow, eventually I ended up to Matt Carter's product, and here I am now in the Internet marketing world

I think I was browsing the web one day when I stumbled upon it. I used to spend maybe 12+ hours per day on the internet... I still spend a lot of time here. So it was understandable that I would probably run into it eventually.

I had always wanted to work from home and planned on getting into Forex trading because that's what my dad does for a living. About 5 years ago, my dad asked me to come along to a free 3 day seminar in Melbourne about Internet Marketing (hosted by Mike Filsaime).

At the time I didn't know anything about Internet Marketing and was fascinated. I took down pages and pages of notes during those 3 days. It was at that point that I decided to become an Internet Marketer.

Since then I've learnt heaps - had successes, fails, jumped from one thing to another, bought hyped-up products, bought great products - because of my lack of focus it's only been the last few months were I've actually started seeing real, consistent, passive income. Now I'm in the process of scaling it up... very exciting!

Some years ago as a real estate investor in Dallas/Fort Worth, finding properties on the Internet was more interesting than "driving for yucks."

Now I see IM as a way to purchase my freedom. That freedom may come as early as 2012.

When I had my very first adsense check, that made me to focus more on IM. But sadly my GA account was banned years back and it made me to search what other means of making money online.

For me it was just the fact I knew I could not spend my whole life working for someone else. I think literally I typed 'entrepreneur' into google and went from there! It was probably one of the first wealth/money/success books I read that really inspired me though.

I had just turned 18 and was completely on my own. I was hoping to find a way to make more money to go to college and be able to support myself. Slowly getting there; but I wish I had spent less time screwing around and actually started doing something much sooner.

I was working as an online editor of a newsletter going out to about 100 000 people per month.

I did it for four years (14 - 18) and when I was 17 or 18, one of my writers told me about getting paid to write articles. Intrigued, I started finding jobs and getting the odd clients to help me raise spending money through University.

Because I had a lot of affiliate marketers requesting articles, I slowly started learning about online marketing, affiliate marketing, etc. Two years ago (or was it three), I quit my full time job to start my own online marketing agency.

    Haven't looked back since. =)

I came to the world of internet marketing because of an MLM that I was promoting and then the support team left and I was excited about the internet portion but it has taken several years to get me here. I am not making any money yet but look out world...here I come.

My buddy Brennen got me started on the adult side...I did that for a few years, but wanted to eventually get into mainstream...dating/relationships was my way in. I took a break from it for the past few years, but just starting to get into the swing of things...I've learned more in the past six months than I did in the past four years, thanks to Warrior Forum!

The same thing sort of happened to me, it wasn't live. But, it motivated me more to keep working. I was playing poker one day and me and this guy started talking and I found out he was a VERY successful.

At first I thought he was full of it but he showed me all his websites his products and he was for real. He told me his story and I was like "If he can do I can sure do it!" He mentored me for a couple months but now he's touring around Europe. Real humble guy.

I agree, I don't want to be stressed out over this economy and having that feeling of being laid off looming in the back of my mind.

I say by mid-2012 I'll be making enough online to not be stressed if I get laid off or not. That is if everything goes accordingly hehe.

By far working on my websites and earning a little extra income here and there is one of my passions as well. Just hang in there, it took me, I would say.. almost 2 years to start making money online.

It's not much but it helps me keep going when I feel like giving up.

Don't give up, who knows your success could just be around the corner .

It's the way IM works. You are in total control of what you do. You work smart and earn. And the passion keeps on growing everyday when I see the effort made, even seven months ago, bearing fruits. I thank my friends who introduced me to this world.

    By accident! LOL

I had an injury on one foot while I was vacationing.

So I had to spend two straight months without being able to walk, add to the equation that I was already sick of having to deal with bosses and being underpaid.

And one day I just started googling for how to make money online and well, the rest is pretty much history! ;-)

I got my start real estate investing--the creative stuff that is sold in infomercials and boot camps. I applied it and bought a bunch of houses. Then I wanted to write my own course and offer it, and the rest is history. But as of 2008, real estate promoters were finally catching up to generating traffic and sales online stuff that IM gurus have been teaching for years. I've been hustling to catch up ever since and feel it's a better fit for me as a reader and writer at heart than just doing deals 24/7.

What get me interest to be internet marketers is because I get cheated by purchasing online.

After that i be internet marketers and i learn and view most of the e-commerce sites to learn how e-commerce sites is done , how they make their promise to customers, how they create confidence and trust to customers , how they allow customer to make a secure payment .

I HATED college, and I couldn't handle the thought of getting a job I hated and trading dollars for hours the rest of my life.

I started fishing around online, and I found a network marketing opportunity. I heard stories about many in the company making 6 figures working from wherever they wanted. This was when I first realized the difference between passive income and working for money.

As it turns out, that opportunity fell through. However, it opened my eyes to how much money could be made online.

My answer will be different since I'm coming from the network/affiliate management perspective.

I lucked into the industry. My contract was ending at my old gig and I was job searching. Found the ad for MaxBounty online and applied. They hired me and I've been there for going on seven years.

I love the industry. I love meeting people from all over the world (even if we only meet face-to-face at conferences). The industry is fast-paced and always keeps me on my toes.

As a way to make money online. One thing led to another, which led to another and here you go.

I'd like to someday transition myself to the offline world (not offline marketing, but offline business; well, that is if I don't make some ueber-popular online business first), but I don't have access to the capital now. Also, because this is the internet, it can be accessed from anywhere. Therefore, I am able to travel and work simultaneously.

I was unemployed a few years back and started surfing the internet for a way to make money from home and that's when I found this forum. I didn't jump in right away as a job offer came along and I relocated for it. 2+ yrs. later the projects in my office started to dry up and here I am. This time I am more focused than ever to make it in IM'ing.

I was basically retired after selling my businesses and real estate and decided I wanted something else to do after a few years.

A few friends of mine do IM for a living so I dabbled in it, but it wasn't until I really decided to do something after attending an event that I looked into lots of things to do and IM fit the criteria that I wanted so I jumped in.

I stumbled across it, to be honest with you. I was on Bored.com of all sites one night, checked out their "make money" section... ran across Clickbank, and it kinda spiraled from there.

I also had an online journal several years ago, that magically made its way into Google and apparently got viewers from all over, not just the journal site. Even if 2004 Internet was waaaaaaay different from what it is now, that gave me some inspiration that at a young age I could get that kind of traffic from speaking my mind (and that if only I was old enough and the site allowed it then, I could've made some serious moolah...).

Had a blog for awhile, made some affiliate/Adsense stuffs from it, then I stopped for some stupid reason... Oh yeah! it was 'cause I got an elaborate convoluted idea in my head that I started chasing after instead. Oh well... took me a long time to grapple with that idea of failure, but with everything that's happened in my life since, I've come to understanding of not only why *I* failed in the beginning, but why ultimately I NEEDED to fail back then. My life would've been radically different... and in some ways, not necessarily for the better.

I learned that it was necessary. Things like that, being able to learn from it - this is who I am today.

(I tend to go off on tangents... what were we talking about?? )
