Bah you have to go back, way back all the old looney toones cartoons rrrrreal cartoons with content and character personality todays cartoons are either computer generated with plastic phong shadowing or cheapo stuff without detail ok so spongebob might be exempt but for everything else - go back to the roots, the jazzy roots |

Oh, there are many that come to mine. my favorite is "Powder" and "Signs" Powder was about a kid (i think he was a mixture of an angel, spirit guide, etc) and he was born into a mother who was struck by lightening. Well the mother died, and he was raised by his grandparents who kept him locked away in a basement. He was exceptional with his reading and writing skills. His IQ was off the charts.......i won't tell the rest of the movie cause I don't want to spoil it for everyone. just go out and rent it. "Signs" was the movie with Mel Gibson in it about the aliens. It just points out that everything happens for a reason....such as chain of events. Good movies.

For me its definitely - Pursuit of Happyness. A desperate man with a lot to loose goes on to take huge risks fighting battles internally and externally and achieves the seemingly impossible. Very touching performance by Will Smith.

I have yet to find another movie or book that is more inspiring than "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman Every time I watch it I am amazed by the deep meanings in the story and can always gather new insights.. The story is also true, which makes it all the more extraordinary. Definitely would recommend to everyone. |

The Matrix. It's not a feel-good movie, but if the underlying message doesn't wake you up, you're probably dead.

Anybody seen "My Neighbor Totoro"? It's a Japanese animation by Hayao Miyazaki. Widely known by anime fans but not too famous among Holywood-ish moviegoers. Has been pickd up by Disney and English dubbed. Two of the voice cast is Dakota Fanning and her little sister as Satsuki and Mei. I've watched the movie times and times again (alone or with my family) and never get bored. It teaches us how happy a simple life can be from the perspective of young girls. Truly inspirational. Watched it. |

The GREEN MILE by tom hanks is one of my favorite..this inspired me because the movie tells us that no one can ever judge a person by their appearance, status or even their color (race). And MIRACLES do happen.....

You young bucks and sports movies. One shudders in a nice way of course. "The Great Escape" withSteve McQueen, and an all star cast. It was WAAAY before you time dear, but everyone on that movie had a task, they all did their part and many POW's from WWII escaped. Of course many of them were then excuted, but they were the epitomy of bravery. All my best, Beatrix |

Most feel-good films (not necessarily inspiring): Amelie; What Dreams May Come; Most inspiring: 12 Angry Men (the original); Stand And Deliver; several points from Babylon 5 (OK, TV, not a movie, but I'll ignore that) (particularly the "right hand of vengeance" speech; the "no dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population" speech; and so many others). |
