Default For all IM Dads and Husbands

I was listening to this song over and over today and hope it helps to remind all the Dads and Husbands the reason why we work so hard at IM. I work full time, have a 2 hour round trip commute and stay up regularly until 2:00 am working on IM. I do my best to spend as much time with my family as possible, but I need to be reminded of it once in a while. I am blessed to have a loving and understanding family. Please check out the video and remember what is most important in life.

wow man. I can so relate to you! Wife and kid (with another on the way), full-time job, burning the midnight oil every night. I'm right there with you.

Thanks for sharing,

Matt

WOW. This couldn't have come at a better time. I was working 7am - 5-30 pm, coming home for supper, playing with my 4 year old and 5 month old (daughters) for a bit and then hitting the home office until somewhere between 12 and 2am. I'd beat myself up because I never got to bed WITH my wife and was exhausted every day at work.

Then I got let go due to shortage of work and for the last month have been slugging away in the home office from 8am until 12 or 2 am trying to put food on the table....

This is not the dream they sold me! :-)

Not trying to be cheeky...the vid has me thinking, planning and re-organizing for sure.

Thanks
Mike

Great post. I want to have the freedom to spend time with my kids while they are young. I started several of my ventures in hopes of leveraging myself to be able to spend that time, but sometimes, I actually get LESS time to spend with them. I have heard so many times "they grow up so quickly" and you really don't get it until you have kids. My two year old is quickly turning 3, and my 7 year old wants to go on tour with Hannah Montana...it is tough, but with the support and help from the folks here, we can leverage our income, save time, and spend MORE time with the ones we love.

Thanks all, I am glad that it helped remind some of us of the important things in life. This really hit me yesterday when I heard it. The night before last I had come home from work so drained that I meant to lay down for a few minutes and ended up crashing for a few hours. I woke up and the little one was already getting ready for bed. Such a good kid, he knew I was tired so he closed the door and let me sleep. What really was tough was he had asked to bake cookies for a neighbor whose puppy had passed a few days ago. I woke up and he had already done them. I felt like a royal @$$.

Glad I'm not alone in what I'm going through. I've got 5 kids to take care of, a part time job and my own IM business. Plus there are always house chores and a zillion other things to do. But I wouldn't exchange it for the world.
Thanks for the video.

Think its all about having a good work life balance.

Can be difficult to do sometimes. Its so easy to lose track of family and other stuff when your busy trying to make money to make a better life for your loved ones.
