My thought is that Money is a tool. Nothing more or less. Obviously a very valuable tool but still just a tool. Money is attracted to value. In other words, "Value" either a product or service creates a void. This void that has now been created by the value and only be filled by money (since barter is no longer practical) or some other item of equal value in exchange. Want more money? Create "value". Money follows value.

I was just reading about a couple millionaire basketball stars who were willing to take a few less bucks to make room for a new kabillionaire franchise player on their team (in Miami) because "winning is more important". Are you also getting choked up with emotion? |

I never look at money itself that it brings happiness, but what bring that is what thing money can get acheived which are the responsible for your happiness. also don't be greedy to dream of having billions , no need at all really, you only need wht get those things done for you and that's it.

The main thing that I spend money on is outdoors activities. Here in Montana, it's pretty darn expensive to get out every weekend into the wilderness. So, that's where most of my money goes. Any new project that I get, I'm already thinking of what equipment needs to be upgraded, replaced, etc. Plus, I like taking those I love out for dinner. |

Money is merely an end to a means. Do I need it to live? Certainly! Will I let it rule me? No! Will I live for it? No! Will I die for it? No! Terra |

the way i look at it , some people says the money is the root of all evil ! ever heard that? but what i think is that lack of money then is really the root of all evil. think about it, if someone has money will he ever commit burglary? or arson? or corruption? Money is important ! it is essential to keeping family alive and happy. Imagine if you can go to any fine restaurants in the world without worrying about the bills or travel to any parts of the world and have the fun of your life without worrying about money? Money is essential to living a happy life and also to make your life more blessed with happy relationships. With happy relationships come with happy state of mind and certainly a better quality of life. Money can also be used to help others whether be it in charity or making a contribution of some sort to those who need help. my two cents worth!

Money is different things to different people. Your relationship with it is a reflection of your own values, not the value of money.

Growing up, I knew quite a few kids who came from extremely wealthy families who did just the things you mentioned. I imagine the reason they did it was to get attention from their parents who were never a big part of their lives as they were too busy making that money. The quote to which you were referring is The love of money is the root of all evil and I believe it refers to "worshipping" money. Perhaps that was the problem with the above mentioned parents. | Money is just a mindset. People who have money find it easier to get more money. Money generates more money. Our system is based on this premise. Money has both social and emotional stigmas. We love to hate and love people who have lots of money. Money is considered as the root of all evil... but it is the love of money that presents the evil. Money is what makes us able to live and love to our full potential. Without money we could not do or be or perceive the value of of our lives. I had to get past the religious stigma concerning money. Remember the analogy of the rich man and the eye of the needle. "It would be harder for a rich man to get into heaven as it would be for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. Without knowing it, we are programmed not to want to be rich. But our birth right is to have as much abundance as we want. Money is just the vehicle to take us to where we want to be in our development. That relationship with money has to be reprogrammed and allow our environment to attract money and abundance, We deserve it. |

I think making large amounts of money must become like a drug to many people because you would think people would retire when they've made enough to be comfortable and not carry on working 50-60 hour weeks.

I think depending at what stage of your life you are in you may think that you need or want to make excessive amounts of money, but if you really think about it or have gone through periods of scarcity you realize that making enough to get by is good enough. I totally understand that you are not going to get by on having no money but I guess I am making the distinction between chasing excessive material or superficial possessions or just affording the necessities. Like do I really need a $100K car or would a $20k one be OK. Great question and great responses Thanks LR

First work for money, then let money work for you. When you have enough always keep in mind to share especially to the less fortunate, because you can't bring them with you if you are no longer living.

From the law of attraction stand point: Money is good, it is freedom and abundance. Those who have it should be appreciated not despised because if you despise it, you will not get it, money will correlate with a negative emotion. From my own eyes: Money is how much value I offer to the world. How much I can effect the lives of others, I will be given back in terms of abundance and freedom to further do so. (I only offer products that give value, I do not deal with funneling traffic etc.) |

Money is the means to an end, to enjoy and support the lifestyle for you and your family. People say money is not important, but those are the same ones complaining that they dont have enough of it. Money is important, However you should not give it control over your life. <------This is where most people go wrong... You control the money! Like one poster said make money work for you! |

Lack of Money = People say they will help you in theory, but, won't help you in actions. Money = All goods & services at my Beck & Call. "Money is the sweetest hangover I don't wanna get over"..."If there's a cure for being rich, I don't want it, I don't want it. If there's a cure for being broke I need it, and, I need it"- Sadat X & Akinyele Thanks Warning you got to be a real hard core hip hop head to understand this video(I gave you the summary already if you rather not click on video). The lyrics could be interpreted as hard core even though edgy stuff is kinda bleeped. It is a time capsule from 15 years ago. Maybe too all over the place for most in this room, but, because of the hook I thought I would place it here. Note: Hook means chorus (I quoted it above). Also, for the record(no pun), Sadat x is not proud of this song. It was what he was about at that time. What a shame the chorus resonates with me. |

Money is an amplifier. If u were a good person deep down, it's not going to change much when you make loads of money. You'll basically do more good stuff. If u start acting out after making money, u didn't really change, it just means u didn't have the opportunity earlier to show you true self. MHO. |

I rarely think about "money." I'm either thinking about vision, goals, and purpose, and accomplishing my work with Integrity (not because it's what I do, but because that's Who I am). And then presumably the money should follow. Or, I'm thinking about the real things money can do, buy, and provide. Those are the things I really want. So that's what I focus on. My goals never include things like "To make $1000 this week" or "$100,000 this year." That's a wish, not a goal. I can't control the value of what I do. I can only control what I do and how. (Witness the stock market crash.) |

its funny when people say all this stuff about money making people corrupt. My goal in life is to not have to work 9-5. Whats the point? I could work in my comfortable home, work however long I want and be able to go on unlimited holidays and afford anything. I can see myself getting addicted to wanting more and more though hehe. |

All these sales letter promising to make you a millionaire overnight..OK we know they are B*S* but I always ask..why? Why strive to become a millionaire? Making $10K a month is good enough.... Do not get me wrng..if it happens naturally there's nothing wrong with it..but if "force it..." or become so focused on it you allow it to become your sole focus in life I think you are heading down the wrong path. I guess it all come sdown to greed? I have never been one for flashing my cash. I do not need to drive a big fancy car....watches etc.. I just could not justify wasting $10K on watch when there are people starving to death. That's me. I always need money saved to fall back on. Without it feels like driving acar with no seatbelt. Apart from that money has no value to me. I certainly do not judge people by the size of their bank accounts and despise people who do. |

I'll guarantee right now Michael Douglas would give up his wealth to have 100% health... A lottery winner in the UK (£5M) said he would give it all up to have his health back...he had about 12 months to live... Health V wealth..... we know which one we should choose but do we? NEVER choose wealth that costs you your health. |

Personally, I don't feel there is anythign wrong with pursuing financial security. The issue comes when you allow greed to overtake your values, believes and faith and you betray yourself. This is where money can "be the route to all evil" it's not the money itself but it's more of your own values. Just my humble opinion. It's not the matter of the pursuit of financial security but the values of the person, the greed, and their choices. |

You are meant to love money! Not what it can do for you, but also the money itself. See it like a rainbow, sweet, pure, part of God's creation. Always give money with love, feel at one with it in your heart when you give it away, and share love with the other person or organisation. In this way it will come back to you, if you share it with love! Money is a good thing, you can help a lot more people if you have money, than if you don't. We need to love money for it to work for us and for everyone! |

If you ask them why they think this way, they will say something like "Oh I don't need that much, I just need X amount, good health, happiness bla bla". While they try to make it sound like they are not demanding at all, the common theme is "me" and "I". Talk about being selfish. Entrepreneurship is a set of skills. Why put a cap on that. Think about a company like Walmart. How many people can create an environment where millions of people will earn their living! Now I don't know what Mr. Walton was focusing on, giving value or money or something else. But I will bet he had an eye on the money. Money is how you measure profitability. Without being profitable a business can sustain for so long. Value and all other pep talk is good, but money itself cannot be evil. It just amplifies one's personality. If someone feels like money turned them into evil, know that it didn't. He/she was evil to start with, just didn't have the means to express themselves. my .02 cents Tanvir

i think chasing 'money' to the extent that you dont see anything else is bad as I am sure most of you would agree. However we also need to have a bit of determination to succeed. Give yourself goals and aims to achieve for the week/month/year. Aiming for success is good because we need money to survive and live a good lifestyle. Most people say that money is the root of all evil, yet we all want it to some extent. I dont agree with that statement because how can we be successful and achieve something when we think of it as negative in our mind? Having wealth is great because it can give you happiness. We can buy what we want giving us a happy mind but also give us the opportunity to look after our health and well being. Therefore I think people should set themselves a goal of what would give them a comfortable lifestyle and aim towards it. Over time this may change |

Money is a tool you can use to achieve anything you want in life.. and to achieve money you need lots of smartness and hardwork.. its no way evil unless.. someone uses unethical methods to achieve it.. its one of the best thing in world for a smart and hard work, coz it enables him to control many aspects of his life with it.. its a boon or curse.. depends on how you think |

I know this is not directly related to money .. but its a great reminder of whats important and if having money affords you to do what you love and share with others and makes you a happy person to be able to do those things ...then it is very important ... so I thought I would share this awesome quote ... "When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life." ~John Lennon |

You can't anthropomorphize money. Money is neither good nor bad. Money by itself has no intentions or ulterior motives. Good and bad. Evil and Kind. These are HUMAN traits. Money is simply a magnifier. If you're already an ill-intentioned, evil person, then when you get MORE money, you're just going to get MORE evil. Money reveals people's TRUE colors. On the other hand, if you're a saint and you happen to acquire a lot of money, we'll all be blessed that you did, because your saintly ways will be magnified and exposed for the whole world to see. So in the end, money is simply an object. An object that everyone has a right to. There's no right or wrong in whether we acquire a lot or a little of it. Just know, that the more you get of it, the more you and others will truly begin to see who you REALLY are. |
