Default Do what you love is a myth...

if your "why" is strong enough you can be motivated enough to do it and succeed. Look at video it is well worth the tears.

Of course I watched the clip....

he created a purpose to give him a reason to play football and succeed. He created his strong enough "why"(as tony robbins would say). In return it was football that was used to help him grow....perhaps the work he had to force himself to do gave him self enlightenment, i.e playing through pain, words from his coaches, & observing other players actions, decisions, and, behaviors. All those things transposed upon him is what likely gave him growth. He didn't love it he just did it.

It is always great if you do what you love to do, doing something else because you are forced to or does not have a choice is another story.

Yeah, the problem is that what I love doesn't generate money... Gotta do other things to pay the bills so I can do what I love.

But I wasted way too much time thinking "do what you love and the money will follow." It was not useful advice for me.

I agree. It is a myth that we all believe in. And sometimes it's good to have something to believe in. Otherwise you'll keep asking yourself useless questions.

Its either we love to do something but no making money or we making money with something but not loving it.

The element will be the time spent on either case to grow the money or the love.

I still don't think doing what you love is a myth. I love making websites and I have a part time job doing it. I love it. I get paid to do soemthing I enjoy doing, rather than groaining and moaining about it.

the normal do what you love phrase get's misinterpreted ..he didn't just do it because he could make a lot of money ..he had passion for performing and a willingness to push through the hard parts..

do what you love is not really a myth .. You have to incorporate many passions and the ability and drive to get better at something .

what you do has to excite and develope your passions and advance your purpose .. love is a loaded word because people think love doesn't involve much work.. when the people who love what they do work the hardest because it doesn't feel like work

the key to what martain talks about .. is find your passion and drive then find something the allows you to nurture them .. no need for love of the certain thing ..but develop yourself and your passions while doing that thing..and it open up many doors ..

there is a difference between love and passions
