Default Personal Power II - NLP

OK so I am blowing through the Personal Power series by Tony Robbins. Anyway, he mentions NLP and that he doesn't use it all that much but everything from the anchoring, fast phobia cure, swish pattern, etc come straight from the NLP textbooks.

So what gives, was he just saying that to make his techniques different?

At any rate, it is a great and life changing series.

Tim

Being different allows branding.
Which he HAS done quite well with.Semantics is all.
After all if you read about the subject it's a matter of paying attention and making changes by manipulating what you noticed for certain results. With Intnet.
Personally can't stand his "work", I'm sure he's probably a decent guy.
Prefer many others who are more elegant.
Good Magicians are ones worth watching/studying.
Applaud TR's marketing though, kudos to Guthey Ranker.

I think TR is very good he has a way of delivering his message, I have seen him in person and know for a fact he is for real. He is a man that walks the walk and does what he says. He practices what he preaches most of the time. He is a very decent human being. My opinion only.

I have completed Personal Power II also. Anthony Robbins does have excellent strategies that you can apply to develop your success mindset.

Many of the guys like Robins who want to get really big
in NLP develop their own brand of it. I like Christopher
Howard's stuff. I doubt there is an single most effective
way to do it. These guys introduce their own systems
of visualization or whatever and then it's not NLP, it's
"more advanced" or the "latest technology".

Just take what you can use. I get a lot of my best insight
from pre-NLP stuff. Not saying NLP has no value, just
that you CAN learn to influence people without being
schooled in NLP. I think a combination of reading from
people who did what you want to do, practicing the things
you want to excel at, and letting it all burble through your
subconscious can work pretty good too.

Though I am by no means able to use it, from what I've read and heard, the most powerful NLP stuff is in all the classic works.

The Structure of Magic Vol 1 + 2, The Hypnotic Patterns of Milton Erickson MD 1 + 2, Frogs Into Princes, Tranceformations, and Monsters and Magical Sticks are all fantastic books.
