Dear Warriors,
I have one doubt here and hope to hear from your advice.

What is the Pros and Cons of putting few products into one domain(of course, into diff sub-folder. eg. http://mydomain.com/product1, http://mydomain.com/product2) as compare to each product has it own domain?

Cost is definitely one of the factor, but besides this, any others? especially on how does SEO rank a site with one domain name but with few products?

Hope my question make sense.

Wow. Great question. I can't say I have much of an answer, and I am NOT trying to promote someone elses product (not making any money off of it) but I must say, a new Theme for WP came online a few days ago, and it really does seem to speak to this issue.

See, I had the same concern. And at the same time I was searching for a Theme that simulated a Sales Funnel for me.

I found it, and it deals with your issue of multiple products on one domain. With this theme (unnamed) you can setup pages to be Sales pages and differentiate them all by product.

Now, to the con side. I would have to say that one downfall to this idea is keyword optimization.

if you are able to, purchasing a domain related to the niche and product you are selling will ALWAYS do better.

For instance, I am selling some information about 'surviving the housing crisis and keeping your home'. I have purchase domains related to Loan Modification and Loan Mods.

This way, i can laser target this niche and have better luck with relevance and indexing by exploiting the keyword related domain name for THIS product.

Now I will be adding other similar products in the same niche TO that domain, but I wouldn't do as you suggest, just split out into folders, the different products...

UNLESS, cost IS the factor. IN that case, I would get that THEME I was referring to - it sounds like 'Hoss Cream'......

(didn't post name here as I don't want to go against rules...not sure if that IS one or not, just being safe...)

What sort of products?
If you create a "personal" site and become an authority then you will want to have numerous product options on your site i.e. glazer-kennedy. So I need to know what your product strategy is...

The reason this is frowned upon is because potential customers don't like to feel like they are on a "spammy" website.

If, as a customer, I click an add and get to IANA — Example domains, because I am interested in making money I may want to see what else the site has to offer and just to IANA — Example domains.. if example.com is just a blank page or a bunch of links to all types of products/offers in various niches I would leave the site in a second because I wouldn't trust it.

If you want to group multiple offers/products together on the same site then stick to a common theme.. ie; a health & wellness website for weight loss & muscle building products, an sweepstakes website for ipad giveaways & macbook giveaways, etc, etc etc...
