Marcus, I've often noticed that these forums are filled with two kinds of people. The first are trying to convince someone to buy their product or service based on flash and advertising. The second are trying to make the best product or service available, and sell it on its merits. Obviously, you have to do both, but the best way to get customers is definitely to do as you say - solve a problem that needs a solution. Thanks for the share Seth |

Awesome post! So true, in business a NEED will always be greater than a WANT. Consumers may strongly want something but not have the money while when they strongly need something an not have the money they will have to do what they can to get the money. By finding a problem that needs to be solved and coming up with the best product/service solution then you are increasing your chances of success indeed! Great share! - Will |

very nice post. the points you mentioned are essential to marketing. that is what seperates winners from loosers. just provide great value instead of seeking to extract value (money) from your customers.

Very well put, Marcus. It's nice to see more and more people in IM talking and going in the direction of quality and helping others, over shading advertising methods. It seems the trend is sadly going the opposite way in many other industries. But I will add one thing to what Marcus said. It's true that nothing will help your business than helping people, but advertising is never a bad thing. And I dont think you need to stop doing it in order to focus time on improving your products. Those who help lots of people, have quality products to offer and properly advertise at the same time, will prosper greatly in the end. |
