Positive images of one self and of others seems to become lacking in the past years. I have found that people are out for just themselves and what they can get. They cry poverty when it comes to doing the simpliest things and would rather go and borrow, beg and steal than sitting back and being just a little creative.
The reason for this post is to perhaps get people to take a look at themselves and start being positive and striving to make others positive. We are all in a hard economic time and need to pull together to get us out of it. Sometimes this takes money but most of the time it just takes effort. If one person would just go and say who can I help today and ask for nothing in return we would start getting a lot further a lot faster. People seem to live in fear and unaware of the unknown. They fall into a comfort zone and dread to leave it. They live in their own world and have an image of what they want but have no goals on how to get there. I know I am getting on a rant here but I just feel that people need to start getting better attitudes on life and self images. I see people day in and day out that have no future or any prospect on improving their future. They are out to get what they want at whatever cost and don't care who they hurt or care what will happen to them when they get caught. We just all need to start getting positive images of ourselves, the way things can and should be and help bring others up who are down. Just a little rant. But lets make it a positive one. |

Some people were discussing Psycho-Cybernetics in another thread and that's a great book for changing the images a person has about themselves and the World and consciously reshaping how they see themselves. Definitely recommended for anyone who's interested. Probably the best personal-development book I've ever read.
"Change your thoughts and you change your world."—Norman Vincent Peale "Be the change you want to see in the world."—Mahatma Gandhi |

I do agree with you. We must be positive always because if we really think positive we can move on and the world will be more safe. Just like Earth hour saving the earth by spending one hour lights-off. Through that we people have been informed why mother earth need to be protected.

What one person thinks is positive, another person may think is negative but people are often mistaken and there must be a way of determining what is really positive and what is really negative in life. What is that method that determines a positive thought from a negative thought? We should try to become positive everyday, then we can motivate our goals.

Actually, today there are more positive people
than there ever were. Internet is doing wonders and the information about positive thinking and the law of attraction is spreading very fast. People are becoming more aware of what's happening around and how they influence their envirnoment. Igor |

Yeah, Positive thinking is truly important, at least, you can do things better with positive thinking compare to negative thinking.

My aim is really not to criticise but you need to take a look at the thread and see if YOU really have a postive image about others. You see our lives are a combination of ourselves and those around us. The world ( our world) won't change for the better if we have a postive image about ourselves but a negative one about others.
What do you think of that ? |

Being a positive thinker is always a good start. I was raised to "do a good turn daily" regardless if it was appreciated or not. It is just the right thing to do and somebody has to set the example. You teach others through your actions. I am just grateful to help out knowing that maybe one littlle gracious act performed daily for somebody allowed them to have a better day to where maybe they will return the favor to sombody else themselves.

Ahh yes..I've seen how stepping out of the comfort zone has done wonders for people and for myself.
I worked in an industry where everything had to be done yesterday, ASAP, urgent, you name it (I hear its like this everywhere, even for toilet cleaners). The people I worked with seemed to be obsessed with chasing the carrot and competing with each other and refusing to try something different in fear of losing that predictable pay packet. It's hard to be positive in this envrionment, it's all geared for short term survival. Truth be told, I noticed most people don't want to take responsibility (even though I tried to encourage them) and are happy being miserable just as long they dont need to make an effort and risk losing what they have, and you have to respect that. Not everyone can be leaders...hierarchies exist for a reason. Not everyone can be go-getters...it doesn't work that way. But being educated is just as important as being positive, as with taking calculated risks. The most successfull people I know are the ones who go against the grain, who don't conform to the norms and generally have an attitude of "just shut up and do it". They believe in themselves, believe in success and are passionate and persistant. It's a formula that can't fail. |
