Default Stop Being Content With Mediocrity ...

"Look if you had one shot; one opportunity to size everything you ever wanted; one moment—would you capture it, or just let it slip?"—Eminem

I've been thinking about my life and everything I've achieved—and haven't achieved—in the past few 5 years.

And, while I'm reasonably happy because I've achieved some valuable things and made lots of progress and been successful, it just hit me like a ton of bricks that I've become content with mediocrity.

I'm not perusing my ambitions with passion like I should be. I've become complacent and right now I've hit rock bottom. Because I haven't been proactive, I'm dissatisfied.

And that's a good thing.

Because these feelings of dissatisfaction are my emotional hard-wiring helping me to become more successful. You see, without these powerful emotions, I would become even more content.

God and Mother Evolution in their wisdom built us specifically so that we'll succeed and reach our full potential. That's an amazing thing. Most people when they feel down about something don't see these emotions are built specifically to help them achieve more in life.

We're surrounded by countless opportunities. Stop watching them pass you by, reach out and grab them with all the passion in your soul, and start living—really living—the kind of living that you're destined for.

It's time to succeed.

"If you're not living on the edge, then you're taking up too much room."—From the song "Heavyweight Champion Of The World."

Built up the passion and fury—get angry if you want to.

Look, both you and I know we've wasted too much time already. Heck, if you're the average American you'll spend 1/4 of your life watching television. Throw that thing out the ****ing window …

And start living.

Remember the ambition you had about travelling around the World—Begin it now. Stop being content. You're supposed to be living life to the full.

Remember that internet business you're supposed to be building or improving—Begin it now. Stop procrastinating. Stop waiting for everything to be perfect. And stop being concerned about "failure."

Because failure is exciting.

It means you're moving in the right direction and you're learning something valuable that will help you succeed. Heck, right now, I'd take a boat load of failure, rather than being in this no man's land.

"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though chequered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."—Theodore Roosevelt

Remember that dream you had about ____________—Begin it now. There's nothing the World that will stop you form achieving that important ambition. You only get one life.

We don't have as much time as we think we do.

Live every moment to the fullest and go after your dreams. That's what I'm doing and I invite you to do the same.

Nice post.

The key here is that life is not a dress rehearsal and we don't get out of it alive! Every moment is precious and the present moments are all we have. My doc says if you look really carefully at your birth certificate you will see that there are no warranties or guarantees...lol

So squeeze the most out of every moment and don't postpone your happiness for "some day I'll..." because it is a place you may never get to. Do it now.

Thanks, I will be coming back to this one ZigZag. I already made my mind up that past is past and the present...truly is.

I can remember casually telling someone that when I was younger I always wanted to play the Saxophone and they simply asked me what is stopping you?....there was a long awkward pause.

Eminem is phenomenal. Severely under appreciated by the masses because he's been demonized by them. A brilliant talent, and a brilliant marketer.
