Default 6 Crucial Steps To Long Term Change

Just thought I'd share what I picked up on the weekend....
These all sound pretty simple, but the more I think about these and see their connection, the stronger the possibilities...

  • 1. Decide._ Actually take out any other possibility in front except for the one you choose.
  • 2. Commit._ Very few people actually commit to either goal or people around them in life. Once you commit, fear is no longer. Why would you fear something you're committed to?
  • 3. Act._ This gets thrown around everywhere, and the forum is no different. Once you act on your commitment and decisions, your momentum grown naturally, no matter how small the action. Even if you stuff up! Its calling "forward Failing"
  • 4. Focus._ On what you want, on your short term goals, long term and final outcomes. NOT on the obstacles.
  • 5. Create a supportive environment._ Create a 'NO FAIL' environment around you. This can be done creating alliances with peers (mastermind groups, mentors, coaches, seminars 7 books), and surrounding yourself with people that excel at what you're trying to achieve.
  • 6. Rinse and repeat!._ We use this one a lot here also, and its because it works! Continue learning! Never EVER think that you're in a spot where you don't need to progress... That's real failure.
Hope that helps someone!

With 5 everything else will happen IMO, without 5 everything else tends to fall apart. There are many details i.e. supportive and wise, your actual physical environment too, etc.

Changing your environment is the most(perhaps only) way to change yourself.

I was watching kawasaki's predicting the future and there was a quote about long term change only working for 3% of people. That 3% success rate seems to pop up quite a bit.
