      Hi Phil,
I can safely say watching the Secret on DVD has changed my life forever just like it did when I read Rich Dad Poor Dad for the first time.

I'm still working on 'attracting' my bigger dreams though.

What it has really done is made me challenge my own thinking and mindset about things. It's given me a perspective shift and since I first saw the DVD, I've read many more books about the Law of Attraction now.

I've also come to realise now that the Secret is an introduction rather than the complete picture on the topic.

It's not just something you do but a lifestyle habit you must adopt.

It's also not your conscious thinking that 'attracts' things but your subconscious thoughts and habits.

I have a post coming up soon on my blog on how I believe you can improve the Law of Attraction that explains how your conscious thoughts and subconscious thought come into play.

So yeah, I guess I have found some profound insight since discovering the Secret!

"The Secret" has changed my life. I've watched it, read it, or listened to it over 50 times. I am finally getting the gist of how to actually create abundance and am practicing it now. Yesterday was an amazing day for me. It was the third day of practicing this new technique (EFT for abundance). I am still in awe. I am eager to see where this will lead, or should I say what more this will bring.

My reverend is Dr. Michael Beckwith from the Secret. The things he manifests in his life are absolutely amazing or should I say... magical. He's awesome and a wholesome, all around good guy too.

          Yep, that's the one.

There are two versions of the dvd about.

The original included Esther Hicks who teaches about law of attraction in the Abraham Hicks teachings.

The second or 'extended' version has a few minutes extra footage but Esther Hicks was removed due to intellectual property reasons and they brought in a couple of extra teachers like Lisa Nichols.

I loved it. It did a great job of bringing the law of attraction to the world.

The Secret has many naysayers but it is hard to argue with thinking positive. It sure beats "stinkin thinkin" as Zig would say. It also introduced me to several teachers including Michael Beckwith that I probably never would have known about if it weren't for "The Secret."

Yes, I read the book and saw the film about 10 times! The first time I saw the film I knew it would change my life! And it did! Since then, I manifested so much things in my life, it is just amazing! The law of attraction is not positive thinking... you have to work at changing your negative feelings into positive feelings in a flash!

When you are able to do that, everyting is possible!

Personally I think...now a lot of people are going to hate me...is that it's just like any program teaching you "how to make money online". It's the same thing you've heard over and over again. The only reason its been such a big thing is because the person who created it is a marketing genius. He took the simplest concept on earth and turned it into a multi-million dollar "program".

I recently read a book about the creator and how he marketed this to make it into such a big thing (he first had an opt-in form...that just goes to prove the power of the internet!)

I've watched it around 4 times. I thought maybe I missed something...but honestly it's the same old thing. It's pretty obvious that those who dwell on the bad are going to always feel bad...not rocket science. And its a no-brainer that thinking postivly will make you happier.

Congrats to him for doing such a good marketing job and making "the secret" into such a mind changing experience.

It is a great jolt to the system, to get some thinking going on for some who have been stuck in a mindset that needs waking up. I moved on to James Ray after that, as well as Napoleon Hill and a couple of others. All interesting and helpful.

I am happy that people are reading/watching "The Secret". I am puzzled why many people don't realize that it is all in the Bible. Norman Vincent Peale, Og Mandino, Wayne Dyer et al = the teachings of the New Testament Ask and ye shall receive...

I have to admit that The Secret is great packaging and so much livelier than the Bible.

I think that people need to be reminded of the simple things like not dwelling on the bad things. The Secret is not new and the author, who is a female by the way is probably the first person to admit that.

When I read it and saw the DVD I was so impressed with the information. It was not that it was something totally new, it was that it was presented in such a way that I was finally able to understand a few simple truths about being happy and successful. I was able to understand them at a different level.

The marketing of The Secret was totally unique and super-impressive, to have it on free to air tv and DVD then a book with so many well known people from the industry. What an achievement.

I remember being so skeptical at first. "That's all I need, another book about positive thinking and that warm and fuzzy stuff. I know that already."

What's interesting about "The Secret" is that it's just 1 of 4 other "Laws". Seemed overhyped though the information seems valid. However, it's only giving you 25% of the story since the 3 other Laws are ignored.

What are these other 3 Laws? I am curious as I have heard of others. Also, do you have any sources for these other laws, i.e. books, movies, websites, etc.

I haven't read it, but I've seen the movie which I found very useful. It's a bit corny and they do gloss over some of the true substance of the secret and make it seem like a magic solution, but I think the written material is supposed to be more thorough and get into the actual focussed effort required.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill talks about the secret specifically related to financial goals. It's definitely worth a read.

I'd have to agree that The Secret is great but it only scratches the surface. I've been reading up on the law of attraction for a while now. A few books some of you may be interested in...

In "The Law of Attraction" by Esther and Jerry Hicks, they refer to 3 Universal Laws:

                    1. The Law of Attraction: That which is like unto itself, is drawn. This is considered the most powerful law.

                    2. Science of Deliberate Creation: That which I give thought to and that which I believe and expect - is. "In short, you get what you are thinking about, whether you want it or not."

                    3. Art of Allowing: I am that which I am, and am willing to allow all others to be that which they are. "You become an Allower when you understand that another cannot be part of your experience unless you invite them in through your thoughts (or through your attention to them), and that circumstances cannot be part of your experience unless you invite them to you through your thought (or through your observation of them)..."

Esther and Jerry Hicks spend much of the year traveling the U.S. conducting seminars to show how the Art of Allowing works. A lot of excerpts from these seminars are available on DVD from Amazon. They provide amazing insights, as do the books they've written.

I think the secret is great...it just doesn't put enough attention on action. I feel that the secret has led alot of people to believe that all they have to do is feel good and "boom" they have what they want.
Action is the bridge between thought and result.

They place a lot of emphasis on 'feeling good' because this provides the direction and motive force for action.

This not to deny the value of action but random action is pointless and misdirected action also takes us away from what we really want.

By identifying what we want as a starting point, the feeling of relief that we experience tells us that this is a better direction than the one we are presently traveling. By constantly looking for these feelings, wherein we feel better than before, our inner senses are guiding us towards what it is that we want.

Improvement tends to be incremental and we shape our lives - and our experiences - by the choices that we make. When we choose a new direction that feels right we feel a surge of energy - enthusiasm and strength - that impels us forward.

Likewise, when we make a "bad" choice - one that does not align well with what we really want - we feel a sense of unease or discomfort. Many would recognize this as conscience in some situations. However, it applies to a broad range of situations that point us in the wrong direction - away from what we really want.

If we want prosperity, then thoughts of robbing a bank might come to mind. Many other thoughts associated with this are likely to cause alarm and we would quickly back away from this a serious consideration. Perhaps starting a small business based on a hobby, or taking a course to obtain necessary skills would stir positive feelings. These would then be directions to look at more closely and, again, feelings would be our guide.

If we want peace, love and harmony, then conflict with others, attempts to dominate and control, nagging, insults and threats would not feel right and we would likely feel strong negative feelings. Some would push ahead anyway because they feel anger at disrespect they have received. How many times have we apologized after our anger has subsided and we feel bad about what we have done in the heat of the moment? Our inner senses have guided us in a better direction.

If those who want more loving relationships remain focused on what they want from such a relationship, compatible thoughts (and feelings) will guide us. For instance when we ponder thoughts of kindness, generosity, and appreciation these feel good and those feelings impel us forward. Expressing those good feelings is a positive action that impacts on our environment and our experiences begin to change. Some people will move away as our attitudes change, others will be attracted by our new attitudes. Life is dynamic.

This can easily be seen with sporting interests. If we decide we are interested in golf, then golf courses will appear everywhere that we hadn't noticed before; tv channels and newspapers will bombard us with advertising for golfing equipment; we suddenly see more reports of golfing news and we spend a lot more time discussing golf with friends (many new) who share our interest in golf. At the same time, we see less of our football buddies and see fewer promotions for football. Life is dynamic.

However, actions which have their roots in hatred and anger do not produce peace, love and harmony. A vindictive spouse does not easily find peace or kindness in that relationship - or even beyond it. Vindictiveness is not usually a one-off incident, nor are its effects narrow. Moreover, as with attitudes to golf, some people will become more distant and others will move closer. What sort of people move closer to a vindictive person?

When you feel good about something, shift your direction. When you feel really good about something, follow your passion. Action is then exhilarating and with purpose.

      Ivan

I read and watched the movie "The Secret" and I just love it.

I use "the law of attraction" in daily basis, even for something small things. It's kind of like the guy in the movie he often use "the law of attraction" to get his favorite parking spots. One you start attracting more what you want, it becomes quite addictive.

Also, I closely monitor my feeling now, and pay more attention to specify exactly what I want.

I am a big fan of The Secret.

My favorite quotes from the Secret dvd:

"Your thoughts are the primary cause of everything"

"Your current reality or your current life is a result of the thoughts you have been thinking"

"There isn't a single thing that you cannot do with this knowledge. . . . The Secret can give you whatever you want" . By it "you will come to know how you can have, be, or do anything you want"

PS:If you have previously read and watched "The Secret" DVD, you would definitely find the Attractor Genie Software very helpful.

I have read it, and while sometimes practicing it backfires on me (I get moody sometimes), it works most of the times. Now I get up everyday thinking about good things to happen (and money), and most of the time it came true. I haven't really set a goal, but I will do that soon, and keep attracting it by thinking about it.
