Default Don't Listen To Negativity

As a blogger and internet marketer I get a lot of negativity from people who are trying to bring me down and tell me how much of a failure I am.

I know that I am a little optimistic and at times I am naive in my goal settings, but I have found that negativity never helps me get to where I want to go.

I was reading an article in a property magazine about a young property developer. When he went to buy his first property everyone told him it was a bad idea and he shouldn't do it...now he has a 14 million dollar property portfolio and all those negative people are now asking him to teach them how he did it.

If people are being negative to you about your attempts to make money online then don't listen to them. Keep learning and keep trying and one day you will be teaching those negative people how to make money online.

(or you will be laughing at them because they will be stuck working 9-5 and you will be earning 10 times what they earn working just an hour per day)

I agree that negativity does hinder operations.
It is never bad though to listen to peoples negativity, if you can use it as advice or improvements to your "plan". If a comment is made that is purely negative for the only point of a pet hate, it is best to ignore, not reply or delete as they soon get bored.

Ryanmacca
Life is about making decisions no matter what other people say or do. They cannot make your decisions for you but you can and when you have made your decision make that decision work for you. I was taught this by one of the directors that I worked for quite some time ago and it is a good rule to work with. It has allways put me in good stead. As one of my sayings is work hard work strong and everything else will come along if I'm suntanned or if I'm pale there will be a smile with every sale

A negative attitude is very self-defeating. It is much easier to blame something or someone for your misfortunes then it is to push to success. If you push you will find solutions. Nayers drag their sorry butts around trying to suck all the positive energy out of strivers. I actually feel for them. It doesn't have to be that way. It's all about choice.

Most people who are negative towards you are really afraid you willbecome more successful than them. It is always better to take advice from someone more successful than you anyway. It certainly is easier to be more positive when you hang around positive people such as those here in this great Warrior Forum.

Hi Ryan,

Negativity does not help and I got to agree. I believe many people out there are laughing at us for thinking that we can strike it big by running an internet business. But their negativity doesn't bring me down as I saw how others had make their mark in the internet business and so can I.

Cheers

This is what I try to follow. Some negative comments do have valid points. But other comments aren't based in any reality, just the other person's fears and pessimism that developed in their own life.

The trick is being able to tell when you can extract some "advice" from a negative comment. But most of the time, I think it's better not to even engage in conversation with those people, and think about their points later on when you are in solitude and have a more balanced perspective.

It is truly amazing how others have a certain perception of things. When asked what I do for a job, I tell them what I do and I work at home, I get the strangest looks, and total disbelief.

I never get the, "Wow, can you tell me what and how you do it so I can work at home as well?". I get the, you are a loser, unemployed loser look.

Yet, everyday, I watch them drive to work, waving from my porch, slaving for hours, to make less than I do....laughing everytime I do it or think about it.......

......What A Great Feeling........

I figure their ignorance, is my bliss.

I find that people that are negative towards my working towards a successful im career don't have a clue what I'm doing. They just don't realize how much opportunity there is online.
I often find myself faced with people telling me that I'm wasting my time. I have a hard time defending myself as I'm not yet raking it in. I know that eventually I will though, so I ignore them and push forward. Someday I will have success and they will be asking me how.

I agree.

There is a lot of negativity surrounding the "making money online" issue - mostly from people who haven't opened up their computer and actively looked at just how many opportunities there are here. And I suspect that, like me, a lot of WAH-ers are subjected to negative criticism from their other halves especially in this time of credit crunch, when they just want us to go out and get a proper job instead of "throwing money away chasing dreams".

If that's you, don't listen. Believe in yourself and you will succeed. After all as Mike Filsaime once said, (paraphrase) "Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right". And who am I to disagree?

I find that many people become defensive and offended by elimination communication because it is not the way they did it and they take a different parenting approach to be a direct or indirect insult or attack on the way their parenting. Silly I know but it may help YOU be less offended when they attack your style. Try to see them “defending” their own style and it might be easier for you to deal with.

When people are negative they are only projecting their own insecurities and problems onto you. So For example when some one says to you - "you are a failure" - they must be a failure otherwise they would not know the meaning to be able to call you one.

One of the best Audio programs i listened to was the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz . Where he explains never take anything personally.

"To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour". ~ William Blake
Thank You Chris Spheeris for your beautiful music!

Wow some very bright and wise people here.

People are allowed to have their own opinions. As Shana_Adam put it they are projecting their own insecurities. Some of them may actually be offering helpful or useful advice.

Yeah I get slated sometimes for working online but it does not affect me. I carry a stronger framer of mind than others and whether they like it or not they just accept my beliefs.

Know who you are and what you are capable of accomplishing. You are limited only by your own beliefs not the beliefs of others. ~Stevie Hawk (might have heard it somewhere else but just incase)

That's why I believe we should listen to (almost) any advice we can get, and then make our own analysis/conclusions.

The best ways I've found to counteract negative people are to stay rational, keep your thoughts and emotions in perspective. A lot of people are negative to that of which they do not understand or jealous of. Beat negativity with optimism!

Negativity from others who are supposed to be in our life ( which means adding to it not subtracting from it ) is just plain wrong. I took a tip from tony robins and ditched all the negative people in my life and now I am better off for it.

I agree with your sentiment and the statement. Just to give credit where it's due, the qoute is from Henry Ford, though Mike F. may have repeated it. It's been pretty widely used, by everyone from the Chicken Soup guy to Jay Abraham. The point is well taken!
