What do you think guys can one have a bad attitude and still succeed or and those two sets simply anathema to each other? What about narcissism? Do narcissists succeed? Or are they even more likely to succeed due to their narcissism? I know, I know, it's two seperate topics but chose one or the other to discuss or you can, of course, have at both of them. |

Julia, yes. The reason is simply that "suckiness" or "badness" is a relative 'judgemental' term defined by the viewer. I am sucky to ones but not sucky to others. Determination to succeed that come from inside is rather absolute because it coming from inside and does not depend on outside. "Bad" person with strong determination to succeed will succeed. "Good" person with strong determination to succeed will succeed too. There are better things than determination to achieve success but that's for another post. Gleb |

Define "sucky". Sucky as in Hooray for Me and I'll Destroy You? No, not good survival policy. There are a few things you simply don't do in this arena - badmouthing fellow copywriters and marketers, for example. And taking money and not delivering is another example. But if "sucky" means greed, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, I win! - then there are quite a few examples of that in this marketing gig. And if your writing/selling skills are good enough, you likely can get away with quite a lot of this. Hope this helps, Dot |
