If you want to be successful with your business, you'll read this. There won't be any "how to" tips on product creation, advertising or any of that mumbo jumbo. But it will contain the most important pieces of information you'll need if you're going to have any prayer of being successful with your business. Ignore this at your own risk. Each of us is an individual. I am not like Michel Fortin and he is not like John Reese who is not like Frank Kern. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses as people, having nothing to do with marketing smarts or any of that crap. Some people are fortunate enough to be blessed with great intuitive skills. Others have the gift of gab. They can make you laugh with a joke or keep you glued to their every word with the yarns they can tell. And then there are some people who can barely speak. They have no self confidence, they have no skills, they have IQs so low that you can just about measure them. But even these people have dreams and desires. And those dreams and desires, if they can be visualized, then they can be realized. All it takes is the right set of circumstances and the right setting to get those dreams and desires out of them and converted into reality. Maybe it's nothing more than a sympathetic ear to listen to them. Some people are great at getting things out of others. The key, for each individual, is to find that resource...that one thing or that one person that releases those dreams and desires in such a way that realizing them becomes a simple matter of putting a plan into action. Even if it means getting somebody to do it for you. But the overall point that I am trying to make here is that everybody is an individual and therefore, each person has to be treated as an individual. They can't be pushed into a cookie cutter "this will work for you" approach to making money. Okay, so how does each person find that one thing that is right for them? Well, there is really only one way to do this...and it's something I have yet to see anybody really discuss. See, the only thing we have that nobody can take away from us is our ability to reason and think. Even the simplest minds can think to some degree. But no matter how great or limited your mind is, you're not going to be able to think... If you don't take care of your mind. I hope that sentence above sinks in because it is the most important thing that you will ever hear. My uncle Jack was a brilliant scientist...until Alzheimer's took his mind. At that time, nobody would have known the things that he created. If you can't think clearly...you can't succeed at anything. I don't care what it is. Unfortunately, in this world, there are tons of things that can affect and even destroy our minds. Stress Poor Diet Poor Sleep Habits Age And the list goes on and on. We can't stop growing old. But we can do something about what we put in our bodies, how much sleep we get and how we react to stress. I'm not a recovering addict or anything like that but there's some saying that goes something like, "give me the strength to accept the things I can't change...." and so on. I'm sure you're familiar with it. These are not just words. This may be the best advice that anybody can give another person in this whole world. If we all took this pledge to heart, we'd have less stress in this world and a lot more people thinking clearly each day. Combine this with a proper diet and plenty of rest and you'll be surprised what you can accomplish. My success, almost all of it, really comes from the above advice. See, when I lost my job back in 2000, I could have gone into a panic, especially when I had so much trouble finding another one at my age. But I didn't. I kept my head together. I kept reciting that pledge. I made sure I kept things in perspective. I changed what I could and accepted what I couldn't. I then methodically went about starting my new life...one day at a time. And even though I made all of $28 in my first 5 months online, I didn't panic. I didn't give up. I made sure I took care of myself. I ate right. I got plenty sleep. I avoided stress. I was then able to work the long days that I did because I was mentally in such great shape. Some people would have cracked under the stress after 3 years of almost no income. At one point, before I hit the Internet, I was pasting labels on law briefs for $7 an hour. It was the lowest point of my life. But I didn't let it get to me. Your mind... NOT product creation NOT advertising NOT list building NOT article writing NOT blogging NOT video creation YOUR MIND...IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASSET THAT YOU HAVE Take care of it and that will make success a whole lot easier to come by. |

Our mind and health is important and if we are madly pursuing success in internet marketing yet we forget to take care of our mind and body, we will not be able to enjoy our success in the end. I make it a point to remind myself to take care of my body and mind and they will take care of my business on the internet. Cheers Vincent Personal Development Blogger |

My father sat down in front of the TV when he retired. He lost his mind to Alzheimer's. I truly believe that he forgot how to use his mind. I was pensioned off from the military and went thru' a stage of "what am I good for now?". One day some one said "Dont die with the dreams inside of you". That keeps me going. The movie "The Bucket List" is a great example of what we should be doing with our life. |

Hey yeah. Right On Steven! A clear head is the best assett you can have. Doing this stuff... I mean firing all the bosses and jobs and going it on your own - you need a clear mind so you can actually solve problems because if you cannot solve them they come at you so thick and fast you could get mired-up in them. That's my experience. I am always solving language problems, HTML problems, marketing process problems... No big deal if you have a clear head and an ability to learn new stuff. Last week a man requested a call from one of my sites. I called him up and disqualified him within 30 seconds because he couldn't recall requesting the call and was fogged-up in his mind. He flunked the interview. Maybe it was a bad day for the guy. There is no way I want top coach or work with somebody in a daze. That's just me... but I feel that way because I know that if I am worn-out or had too much to drink I'm not much good for solving problems - so I try to avoid those states. |

OMG you are one of the wisest people on this Earth, Steve. Thank you for putting this into words. If you approach every person you meet as someone who has something to teach you, you will go far. Giving respect to someone who can barely sign their name... but who can trim a tree so well that you can't tell it was trimmed but it has no dangerous wood left - to that person, your respect is something he/she encounters all too rarely. I supervised over 100 men. I quickly discovered that they valued one word of honest praise over anything else I could give them. So using praise to guide their work quality made life much more pleasant for both the men and for me. Folks have told me I am an "old soul." The same could be said about you, Steven. You have wisdom that is all too rare in this world. Thank you again, Dot |

Wonderful post Steve. I'm a big believer in recognizing, celebrating and using your individuality. Let your light so shine! And because of this, you are right that person A's proven works-like-a-charm formula may not work for me... or may require an adjustment to work for me... or I may have something that I can add to it that makes it work even better than it did for person A. At first I thought you were going at the bottom of the post to be selling something -- Omega 3 formula or a new mind development program.... glad I was wrong! $28 in 5 months. Thanks also for putting that out there... I think folks sometimes need a reality check about internet marketing and whether anyone can get-rich-quick online. |
