The first thing you REALLY need to make money online

It's talked about all the time, but what does it actually mean? How does that really change things?

I've been "trying" to make money online for years - about 7 to be honest. And I've found marginal success in all of the major fads - I've had Adsense sites, I jumped on the BANS bandwagon when it was hot, PLR products, service providing, eBay, you name it.

I went through major peaks of SNO (shiny new object) syndrome when I would buy everything I was emailed, every hot new WSO, hoping to find that missing piece, the one system that would FINALLY work for me and let me see the fruits of my labor.

I went from affiliate marketing to product creation to PLR writing, looking for the business model that would make me the money I wanted.

And then, in frustration, I decided to walk away, declaring that it just "wasn't for me" and I would never be able to succeed online. I deleted my internet marketing email address (ridding myself of 100's of marketer emails)

But something in me wouldn't let it go, and I started crawling around the internet again, looking for something to make it work.

I reminded myself of my favorite internet bloggers, and put myself back on their lists - my favorite is Tiffany Dow. And recently she sent this blog post: What if I gave you hope?.

And it finally hit me.

It's not about the system
It's not about the next product
It's not about anything to do with making money
It's all about me.

I can't bring value to anyone if I don't invest in myself first. I can't generate dollars for myself if I don't see the importance in what I'm saying. I can't succeed until I believe I can succeed.

It's been said a million times over (from the truly successful that honestly want to help people) that your mindset is important. But that means nothing until you honestly figure out what that means for you.

For me? It means that I'm jumping in this time with the focus on my passions - finding ways to better myself and share that process. Do I still need money? - very much so. Do I still have dreams of what I want to do with that money? - you're damn straight! But it's not the primary focus. My primary focus is me.

And no, I haven't made my first dollar in this new approach yet. But it doesn't matter. I know I'm going to succeed now - and so I already have.
