The Right Mindset Will Always Come Before Money

There is a right mindset to making money online. If your first thoughts are about money, success may not come as quickly. Money is the ultimate goal, but it shouldn't be your first priority.

Your first thoughts should be about helping people with your services and knowledge. What do YOU have to offer? Business ethics are important. You want to be of value to your consumers. Think about what you can do to help your consumers, the profitability of your business will exponentially grow.

Thinking in terms of dollars only, will hinder your business and has been shown to halt the growth of any new business endeavor. It is easier to think about your business as you would your family. Money is the last thing that pops into mind when your family is involved. That’s the mindset you should be in all the time.

There is no limit to how much money you can make. All you have to do is find more people to serve. Having the internet at your finger tips gives you access to more people then you can imagine. Your goal is to have a driving web business that adds value to your consumer base, a business that will generate income yet has value to the consumer.

“Fall in love with your list”. What I mean by that is you NEED to take care of your list, these people are your consumers. This is where you make consumers into customers. Put yourself on your list and act like it is from someone else.

You wouldn't want others to sell your personal information and I assure you your consumers don’t either. You want to gain trust. It is imperative to see the value in your email list! Your list is a list of real people with real lives. Treat them like people and care for them. The results will be to your benefit, if you do.

I agree with you that having the right mindset is the key to having a successful internet business. I think the most important mindset to have is to have the mentality that this is a real business where commitment of time and effort is needed.

Putting money before people is cart before the horse. Glad the crappy sales tactics of old are slowly going the way of the dodo.

The value that comes to you comes as a result of you providing value to others.

Good points about treating your list well! It's definitely possible to make money in the short term by spamming your list, but your real success will come from a long term business approach.

Businesses that focus on long term growth and treat their customers and employees well well always do better in the end.

changing a wrong mindset is not an easy thing to do, you need to have consistent little successes to build up your morale and confidence, so bigger successes could be achieved, just do not give up, keep working on things you believe in, and it will pay off at the end...

It took me almost a year to have the correct mindset.

Once it started to change, things became much clearer with bigger results...

Solid post. Thanks for the share.

But that the same time, there are a lot of people out there that have hangups about making money online.

They feel they have to give a mountain of value and get uncomfortable when they ask for the sale.

You need to give a ton of value, but you also need to balance that with not being afraid to ask for money for your value and make the sale.

For me it is about giving value to gain trust.

Then suggest/offer my services or product to them that they want/need.

I never sell or ask them to buy.

Your first priority should be figuring out how you are going to succeed. IF you can not figure this out then you will not be able to succeed.

Good post. If you ask most people online what they want - they will tell you how much money they want to make online. Believe it or not this is not the right answer. The correct answer is "I want to build a successful online business." Until you realize you are building a business - you will be limiting your success.

When you build a successful business, the money will start flowing in. Have a business plan and follow it. If you ask how many have a written business plan, there are very few who would say yes I have one.

I totally agree with this. Actually, it is how I first started in internet marketing and services. I began to help people and show them what I could do.

Soon enough, everyone wanted to know my secrets and I simply did not have the time to help everyone. So, I decided to create a service and the people who were serious had scooped me up just to get an earful of my marketing ideas.

This was flattering and at the same time, a wonderful experience. It's something I wanted to do so I decided to expand on what I could offer. It made me want to learn more.

I would say the right mindset comes before consistent money. I had money coming in when first started out, but it was pretty erratic and in many cases i put more in than i got out. That was when i had all dollar signs on the mind. It can't be that way if you want long term success.

I've also seen people with dollar signs on the mind burn themselves over delivering on their services. But as stated they loss steam once they realize their motivation isn't in the right gear.

I agree good business comes from great services.
It entails that we are not after the consumers money but to help them meet their needs even before or after sales. The money is just an added bonus.

Brian Tracy, famous motivational speaker and author, speaks of the law of correspondence, which basically says === your outer world and surroundings is a direct reflection of your inner thoughts and attitudes. So, first, get your mind and attitude right, then and only then can you see results.

Somehow it's true here.

Whenever an opportunity comes very close, and I start thinking about the money. It'll go bust the next week.

Had a few incidents that clients called for proposals. We had meetings, and was very confident in closing the deal. Then when I start to focus on the amount that I'm going to make from the deal, the next moment the deal was cancelled.
