Scaling Failure

"Scalability" has always been a huge interest in digital marketing. The ability to scale, repeat, and automate successes in digital marketing has resulted in tons of money made. As difficult and important as this is, I also want to point out the importance of automating failure. This may sound pessimistic but the reality of success is that it is often accomplished after a series of failures. With this in mind, the more carefully we can devise and implement a plan the quicker we can get any needed failure out of the way.

This is not to say that we should throw something sloppily together just to get it out there- this is just low quality and lazy. What it means, to me anyway, is that failure is an acceptable and even needed element of success as long as we use this information to reflect and revise our strategies. Devise > Test > Analyze > Revise > Repeat > Success

You can learn a lot from failure. It's sort of like how athletes tend to learn more from losing than they do by winning a game.

The important thing to remember is that failure is not the end, rather it's a stepping stone to greatness.

You have to fail a lot before you find out what works.

Good headline and good reminder.
A quote from software engineering's mythical man month.
Plan to throw one away, you will anyhow. = Fred Brooks

And a followup:
If you plan to throw one away, you will throw away two. =Craig Zerouni

Totally i agree with this. Don't just stop there, you're lucky that a stepping stone was thrown at you so you can use it on your way to success.

Nice post, Jay. Failure is necessary for success. I've been trying to evolve a successful strategy for success online for nearly 7 years. I'm going to keep tweaking things until I succeed, or die of old age. Lololololol.

Thomas Edison and Henry Ford come to mind.................every failure leads you that much closer to success.

failure is a great thing if you have the ability to learn from it. not everyone can

Another one of my favourites from Napoleon Hill (Think And Grow Rich) is: "Every failure, every adversity, and every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit."

you know .. there is to much positive thinking in this thread :)

while learning to cook and trying new thing and making up my own dises that can be quite tasty .. it is not a matter of fail and keep trying. if something doesn't come out the way i want .. I identify the problem.. figure out what i need to do different next time ..and next time i see how that works ..

now there is also knowing the long term goal ..if you are lost some where without a map or gps.. you tend to ask for directions ..and if those seem not to work you ask someone else ..

Re: Scaling Failure

the key though is figuring out what you did wrong and what you can do different next time ..even if the failure was because somone else screwed something up ..seemingly

put simply,
You may succeed twice in a thousand failed attempts.
This is better-off than he who is trying hard in one attempt and not to fail.
