Hi Everyone, I'm still giddy from it all. It was like i was in heaven. After reading his books, the legendary motivational speaker Les Brown was in the Civic Centre in Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. I particularly enjoyed eling his famous story about how he became a radio DJ. It was rereshing coming from Les himself and live too! The conference was organised by MTN, the biggest and most popular IT/Mobile communications company. There was cocktail, champagne, juice and lovely music for attendees. But it wasn\t about the food and drinks that i was there. It was about what Les could teach me and did he? Here's a small list: (i'll make a full post later on my blog at The Information Marketing Nigeria Blog later) Life is a fight for territory. Greatness is a choice, not your destiny. You don't get in life what you want, you get in life what you are. The two most important days in your life are: the day you were born and the day you know the reason why you were born. Recession restores resourcefulness. Impact drives income. "Hey internet marketers. Any ideas?" A life without discipline is a toxic life. Get out of relationships that choke you. Provide more service than you get paid for. Another one for internet marketers. Build relationships with your customers. People listen to and buy from those they like, love and trust. Come on Les is the BOMB! Guess what he loved most about Nigeria? He said it's our honesty. That's a huge compliment for a country that's percieved as being filled to the hilt with fraudsters. He also loved our food and our commercial bikes, popularly known as 'Okada'. Les was a breath of frsh air really. Last night, I expanded my dream of building my country's biggest publishing company to making it Africa's biggest publishing company. I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you, Les. God bless MTN. |

It's Not Over Till I Win! Do you see the glass half empty or half full? The difference can mean success or failure. The simple things seem to be the most effective and most overlooked. | |
