There are many things that make a business successful, but what I would really like to know is what is the first thing that comes to your mind that makes a business successful.

I think it is the experience you have with the business. It can take only one bad experience to turn you away from a business forever.

Please give me your thoughts.

Depends on what you meen with "business".
If you meen a firm or an enterprise, I will say the turnover is the key to how successful a firm is.

There are a lot of things as the OP mentioned, IMHO there are 2 keys to being successful in business, persistence and integrity. Each one is interchangeable as to what is more important.

These are the 2 keys to making any business fly. With out them, you are doomed for failure.

Well offline they say location, so online that does not apply too much.

What really applies both offline and online is doing your homework and being aware at all times.

When you are aware of the trends, technology, your competition, your employees, your cashflow, your spending, how to improve, and your USP, then the probability of your success will rise dramatically.

Principles which were applied in one way or another, consciously or
unconcsiously.

I would say it is simply consistency...showing up everyday and staying focused...and understanding that "quick easy money" is a myth...
