In you opinion how hard would it be to make $1,000 per month? How soon can this be achieved and how many hours per day do you think it would take?
I want to quit my job and I only need $1,000 per month to quit (I still live with my parents). I've been wanting to do this since the beginning of this year but I still haven't received one check. (Haven't reached $100 in adsense or 5 sales in clickbank yet). I have only written one article and can't seem to motivate myself to write any more. How can I motivate myself to consistently work on building an internet business? Should I start with a smaller goal? Should I try something else besides article marketing? |

Very easy. TOO easy in my opinion.
Membership sites are the way forward in my opinion. It's a recurring income on autopilot. If you sold membership spots at $27 per month, you would only need 38 people signed up to surpass the $1000/m barrier. However, running a membership site isn't easy. You have to update it with content, keep in touch with your members and worry about all the payments much more. ![]() Daniel |

First question you need to ask yourself is "What value can I provide?" What knowledge, service, information do you have.
Second question is "Who will be helped by this value and who will pay for it." Third question is "How do I get this value to them." (articles, membership sites, etc) Throwing junk services, overpriced membership sites, and worthless articles will not build a business long term. Heck, to many people have tried it and it does not seem to be working too well now. Remember what Zig Ziglar said, "Help people get what they want and they will help you get what you want." |

Honest Biz Pro is right, first you decide what value you possess? How will you get the value? If your inner self is satisfied what you are giving against what are you getting?
But before leaving the job plan for a long term earnings. Articles or membership sites etc. are not long term business generating sources. |

I. Planning
1. Identify your specialized skills, knowledge and experience in 5 niches. 2. Determine 3 out of those 5 niches which your expertise can provide real value to the target markets of those niches. 3. Determine the most profitable niche out of those 3. How? The most profitable niche has these qualifications: a) the niche should have the largest target markets... b) the niche should have the least competition... c) the niche should have target markets with immediate needs... ...and... d) the niche should have target markets with the highest buying power. Advice: Do the math. 4. Identify the immediate needs, lifestyles, professional careers, demands, etc. etc. etc. of the target markets. 5. Categorize the target markets based on those relevant factors. 6. Identify the categories that can benefit more from your expertise. 7. Create a psychograph based on those relevant factors for your chosen categories )you should know how they think more than what they think). 8. Select the psychographs with demands, thinking patterns, immediate needs, lifestyles, professional careers, etc. etc. etc. which you know the most because of your specialized skills, knowledge and experience. Why? Based on these relevant factors, if you know: a) what you need, b) where you'll look for your needs, c) when to look for your needs, d) the groups of people to talk about your needs, e) the ways to satisfy your needs, and f) why you need those things, then... ...you'll know how, where to go, what to use and when to satisfy the needs of your target markets. 9. Develop a plan based on what you know. 10. Develop a schedule based on what you have to do. 11. Moneytize your methods of satisfying the needs of your target markets while constantly monitoring relevant changes to the industry that can affect your goals for financial stability and security. Advice: Remember, the industry perpetually changes at a pace similar to the development of technology and global economics, so... ...your target markets will constantly change with the changing industry... ...which means... --- their lifestyles, professional careers, immediate needs, demands, etc. etc. etc. change with the industry, and... ...this means: --- you also need to change your workflow systems and other processes relevant to the growth and expansion of your business (anyway, since you have needs, lifestyles, demands, etc. etc. etc. similar to theirs, you're several steps ahead of your competition). II. Implementation Advice: Just do it with these in mind --- 1. work smarter and not harder so as to party harder, 2. incorporate business PPT on all your ventures (hire the right people, develop and constantly improve the right processes while investing in the right technology), and 3. live beyond your means to gain several steps ahead of your perpetually changing needs, demands and wants. III. Problems Of course there will be problems (success can only exist in a world with problems --- it will die out if the world becomes a perfect problem-free one). When facing problems, remember these: 1. Learn from your mistakes. They say experience is the best teacher? No way --- bad experience is. 2. Ask those "hows" rather than those "whys" since this will help you come up with exact solutions to your problems and push you to take immediate action. 3. Make do of what you have. The military use this principle --- something that goes like: maximize the use of your available resources. Why? It would be costly in terms of resources and time to use the resources of others, but --- ...if you don't have anything that can stop you from using the resources of others while solving your problems at the soonest, go with: --- spending some resources other than time since... --- you don't want to spend more time than other resources, right? IV. Motivation Q: You find it hard to make money by running a business and... ...harder to make money online? A: Yes, but I'd go with the method where I have the most amount of control to dictate the level of financial stability and security I get for me and my family over --- ...building the foundations of my family's financial security and stability around... ...the whims of an employer who can, at the blink of a second, choose not to care about controlling relevant factors affecting the company due to a long long list of subjective reasons (like hating the fact that he only gets a certain amount of sleep on Wednesdays and Thursdays), and thus decides to: --- close down the company, and my short-term plan afterwards is: ...to look for another job while... --- completely relying my family's temporary financial stability and security on the welfare programs of... ...a government heavily burdened with debt from global financial institutions because of the same welfare programs, which means... --- I must run the same course again and again and again without end unless I decide to: --- take the most amount of control and build my own business or investment plans then take immediate action (a good end always starts with, yes --- a good start). Hope you find this helpful. Marx |

I think its good starting out to have a "per day" figure instead of a per month figure...it keeps u on better track...for example...to achieve $1000 a month u would need to make $33 a day approx .

Another approach is to look at the online business models that exist and determine which one fits your skills, budget, time, and personality. If you don't like to do something you can't put your heart into it.
And remember if you don't like to write don't choose a model that requires writing; or buy plr content and rewrite. Almost any task required for any of the online business models can be outsourced. Most of all you have to solve a need/problem someone has who is willing to spend money for it online. As for the number of hours per day. Some people work better in blocks of 1-2 hours. When learning some people need to stick with it a little longer to 'learn' how to do something. Otherwise you have to relearn how to do something each time. I like to use a checklist. Other people's attention span is not that long. Time management and task process is very much an individual thing. Good luck. |

--- a goal, an overall plan, a plan subset of an overall plan and a step within a subset plan of an overall plan (which can also be broken down into substeps) are entirely different things. Why? A goal is a cornucopia of your long term objectives. An overall plan is the long term ways you need to do and sometimes change but constantly improve to achieve your goal. A subset plan of an overall plan contains the result of the steps within it developed for the successful implementation of the overall plan directed at the achievement of a goal. The steps within a subset plan are the methods you must do to get the results you want to achieve with the successful implementation of a subset plan and... ...substeps are methods developed to do the overall step (i.e. step = build a good website --- substep 1: choose a good domain name substep 2: register your chosen domain name etc. etc. etc.)... ...so how can this be helpful? It can probably keep your mind tacked to your overall plan for achieveing your goal and not: --- distracted from your long term goal by the substeps, steps, plan subset and overall plan among other relevant factors such as stress, economic conditions, technological development, diseases, etc. etc. etc. Hope you find value in this post. In my opinion, the most important thing is to take action. If you just stay and wait, nothing will happens. Are you reading every day at least an article about marketing? Are you trying to motivate yourself reading successful stories about peoples who are making a fortune on the net?
You said that you can't motivate yourself. You probably have hobbies. Try to find a niche about your hobby, this will keep your interest high and you will not quit after the first wrong step. Make a step by step plan about you must to do and follow it. Your first $1000 will start with the first $1. If you can earn $1, this is a very good start. Make researches, see what marketing strategy helped you to reach this one buck and try to develop that strategy. Try to find new strategies and test them. See what is working and don't working. Writing articles is just one way to make money or to promote your business. In this forum you can find a lot of good marketing strategies, just take your time to read and understand how the system is working. Quote:

Earn $1K/month. Short Term Overall Plan Step 1: Look for clients willing to pay $20/article submitted to article submission sites. Substeps 1-XXX: Lots of resources providing advice on how to look for clients --- Google then read it. Step 2: If you don't want to create and submit 50 500++-word articles/month or 1.66 500++-word articles/day to article submission sites: --- do you have interested friends with enough free time and skills suitable for writing such articles? If yes, contact 50 of them (success percentage of finding interested friends with suitable skills for this purpose = 80%, which will give you 40 interested friends), then... ...pay them $10/article and $8 for editing, and... ...keep $2/article for getting the clients and submitting the articles to article submission sites. Since your goal is to earn $1K/month, you'll just need to find clients collectively looking for 500 articles submitted to article submission sites/month. Because you have 40 friends helping you out by creating and editing an article each per day, you'll earn $80/day from them. $80/day, in 20 days, will give you $1600. Since you just want $1K/month, donate $600/month to charitable institutions with gainful objectives. ![]() Long Term Overall Plan Zone in on a profitable niche, know how your target audience thinks and what they need/demand/etc., build your own website, create useful authority site and blog content, create articles for article submission purposes, launch effective backlink building campaigns, properly SE-optimize and HTML-format your content, establish your online presence by going to relevant blogs/sites/forums, and moneytize moneytize moneytize. Hope this helps. Marx | |

It won't happen overnight, but as some of us can tell you, once you get there, it's easy to stay there. There is more than one way to get there. The fastest is with your own product(s), IMO.

Its totally depend upon you, there are a lot of ideas around the internet, but you should pick the right one that drives your interest.
I will suggest you to outsource the article writing with little investment and use associatecontent to earn money and reach your target. Its not a big task. |

There are literally so many, many ways to make $1000/month in IM. You could do it with one single website with a couple of months of effort.
Use the Google Keyword tool to find a list of highly searched keyword terms. Find an affiliate program related to those keywords and create a Wordpress blog advertising the program. Wrtie 5 new articles a day for specific long-tail keywords that are related to the highly searched keyword term, and build backlinks thus increasing your site's authority. Do this for 30 days and you'll be ranking well under that term and receiving sales. Really, it's not difficult at all, the above is just a simple example of many, many ways to earn the amount you're enquiring about. |

Woah, you need to earn $1000 to be secure, and you're going to quit the day job as soon as you're earning $1000?
That's a recipe for disaster. You shouldn't even think about quitting your job until you're earning at LEAST twice as much money as you need to get by, from a number of different sources. Internet Marketing is an incredibly volatile business. What if Google changes it's algorithm overnight? What if interest in your product drops? What if you lost that one big client? Personally, I didn't even consider quitting my day job until I was earning $10,000/month minimum. Once I'd cracked that barrier, I wanted to make the same amount of money over 3 months solid. It's not just about earning enough money to work for yourself, it's about preparing for how you're going to be earning money in six months time when Plan A fails. If you don't have a Plan B, or a Plan C, you should hang on to the day job until you do. I think in your case, you need to go and work out a Plan A. |

big info products that cost $47 or $97 and home study courses that cost $597 plus you can have affiliates market them. and you will make twice as much. then take every ebook apart and make a report for $10-$20 each and you will make more than 1K a month.

I think motivation is the key to make $1k per month. Once that you earn $3/day you should not stop what you're doing. Just continue it and you will just notice one day that you starting to earn $1k a month.

That's one sale per day. You're basically asking "Can I just catch one fish per day in the entire ocean on this planet?" Choose a great product to sell, Pick your marketing flavor and stick to it. A SMALL money making review blog with 5 product articles, and one opening article that tells your story. "Hi my name is ___ and I ____. I still live with my parents and even I can make an income online. Because of this I've decided to expose the money (product topic) scams and review legitimate (topic) opportunities. If I can do it, so can you. " And put up a picture. It doesn't really have to be you, it just has to look as natural as a myspace page or some other nice blog. Then set up a Twitter page of the same name. Start adding people and making posts. This takes minutes. MINUTES. Now you have a blog you can promote, with products and articles. To motivate yourself you need to create long term assets, such as a blog or a website. Something you can "own" that serves as a bedrock. If you're leaping into the ocean do you swim all by yourself with nothing but a fishing pole, or do you get a boat and a net? Your website is your boat. Your marketing (twitter, ads, whatever) is your net. Web traffic (millions) are your fish. Now go fishing. Do it daily. Be patient. P.S. Ditch adsense and focus on sales. It takes the same amount of effort and pays more. | |

if you have some cash to spend (credit cards in my case
), PPC can get you there no problem. i had my $1k day (white hat) not too long ago doing both CPA and aff weight loss products. and if you're willing to get a little shady, you can ave $500/day pretty consistantly.. good luck! |

When I started about 1 year back I always used to think $1000 a month is a really hard nut to crack. But not now... I feel grate full to the moment I took the decision to start earning online.

That's right Priest. I had a chance to talk to a Multi Millionaire Marketer personally recently and I asked him where did he start to obtain his first success. He mentioned Article marketing! But what he did that most will not be willing to do is he set a goal to do 100 articles each week and he collected leads. I think what you can learn from that is if you create a $10 product than make the value 10 times that. If you have a goal of $1000 then do the work for $5000. If you provide the value the money will come. Give as much as you can.....let your competition cut corners while you over deliver. | |

Yeah, it's not a wise decision quitting your job until you see that your online business is stable. Starting an online business would surely cost you some money. As in all business, the more you invest, the bigger return.

As a fellow newbie, I think breaking $1000 a month can be difficult, especially at first. Here are some factors you might want to consider:
1. how much traffic your site or links are getting? Typically, the more traffic your site gets, the more likely people will buy and the more money you can make. Typically, new webmasters will probably not get quality traffic at first since the PR usually starts out at 0 and you have to be able to find ways to get traffic. 2. conversion rate - the more people that buy, become a lead, sign up for your program, the more money you can make. If you have a low conversion rate, then you probably will not make much at first. 3. skill level - if you are familiar with web marketing as well as sales-related jobs (such as commission sales jobs), then you will have an advantage when it comes to web marketing (same goes for web design skills). Of course, the total n00b will be in for a challenge, especially at first. 4. What niche you are focusing in? The more competitive the niche, the harder it will be to make money. 5. Trends, the more buyers you get, the better of course. Thought that I would point those out. |

Lots of great advice in this post. I'd add simply to make sure you focus on one project at a time rather than spreading yourself too thin (as most of us do at the start). Adsense used to be an easy way to make recurring money, and while it's no longer quite as easy to make that $1k a month with it, it still works as a simple way to monetize your traffic while you are working on products of your own. Just making a buck or two per day at the start can really provide you with the incentive to keep at it, focus, and develop your site and product/s.

Good Point AbsoulutonRT! Since you are not really selling with CPA it has a great appeal. And once you have the money you can expand into your own product or service as well.

I am very surprised that more people do not realize how much money they can make by simply matching people up who need a website or SEO SERVICES to people who actually do the work. You can score MONTHLY RE-CURRING INCOME by setting up on-going SEO services. (taking a portion of the monthly fee) And the best part....you don't ever do the actual work!

1 article won't make you rich...
I like destination sites, depending where you live you could make a site about that particular area, write good and helpful restaurant reviews, take pictures around your area and soon you have a good unique site to promote... Alternatively, you can purchase 100 articles for a site about any niche you think is profitable, shoot them up on a WP with a nice template and start building links... Soon the site will be making money which you should reinvest to do another site same way until you reach your goal. Kim |

Never, ever use words like "hard". Your question should be "how easy is it to make "$1000 per month"? The answer is very easy. If you make it hard it will be hard - and this is reflected in your results so far. In life, be it sport, IM or anything, 95%+ is in the Mind, everything else is application. I know I keep saying this, but IM is gazillions times easier than bricks and mortar. When I started in business 33 years ago, I was 24 years old with nothing. I sold my car - all I had - and started a national computer business against many established huge companies and I succeeded. I succeeded for one reason - I never doubted that I would succeed. Making $1000 per day is as easy as making $1000 per week or month - only you decide whether you can or not. Never use words like: hard, try, hope etc. As Yoda said: "do or do not - there is no try". Wise and true. | |
