At the beginning of the year I tried a way of making money using automated blogs. The technical side of creating the automated blog worked exactly as I intended - it listed the eBay bargains that I was looking for automatically. I didn't get as many visitors to my blog as I hoped. In 5 1/2 months I made £3.00 which is a success. That's approx. $3.00 in 5 1/2 months, about $2.00 a month, and I still says it's a success. Here's 2 reasons why I say it was a success. Reason 1 I took action. You cannot gain anything without taking action. I had success in overcoming my procrastination. I have been diagnosed with a disability - Asperger's Syndrome (type of autism). Asperger's Syndrome leads to perfectionist thinking which can lead to procrastination. So I succeeded in ignoring my disability and perfectionist thinking and tried to make money. Just suppose I didn't have Asperger's syndrome, would that mean it would be easier to overcome procrastinating? Because I took action once it means I can take action again and again and again and hence achieve more. Reason 2 I gained a lot. Obviously, I didn't gain a lot of money, but I gained something of equal or more value. I gained knowledge - I know things now that I didn't know 5 1/2 months ago and that I would know if I hadn't tried to make the money. I know what helped me make the money - I can repeat it in the future. I know what didn't help me make money - I can do something different in the future. I can use my new knowledge to take action to create more money or increase my knowledge. What You And I Can Learn From It I Took action and lived to tell the tale. If I can overcome my disability then is it fair to say that other people can overcome procrastination to take some small action? Take a small manageable action that does not risk wasting too much time or money. Take note of the results you achieve and work out what they tell you. If taking action leads to positive results then repeat the actions. It taking action leads to negative results try to work out why and change the actions appropriately. Summary Take some small, manageable action and take note of the results. Then take some more action. Thread created to use my experience to TRY and motivate others to overcome procrastination. |

Good work Mohammad! You took a step in your career. Now plot the next step, and take action. The actions are cumulative, each step is progress.

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

You did take the first step. Congrats. ![]() Now you need to find out how you can expand and hasten the process - so you are not just making $6 in 12 months. |

It's great that you took action and I think you should be happy for it. But... Automated blogs? Common. That's not a business, that's a gimmick. It's not stable and it's a matter of time Google's cracks down on content mashups too. Tyrus |

1) to see if I could make money 2) to share knowledge with readers about what I did and what I learned 3) to force myself to take action and overcome the procrastination. Here's What I Learned I could create an automated blog, i.e. I had the technical skills to create something that had the potential of making money. I had developed a systematic approach to getting the content of the blog - list of the cheap diamond ring bargains on eBay. I have a methodical mind that can analyze situations and use the analysis to create something that would be of use to others. (This is one of the advantages of having Asperger's Syndrome) The promotion of the automated blog did not work. Did not enjoy this part of the work. The Future Use my strengths (focused, methodical and analytical mind) to create information, tools or service that would be of use to others. Stay away from my weaknesses - get others to do the promotion of my information, tool or service, but don't know how yet.

I do not know enough about them to make a comment about whether they are a viable for making money. Tyrus has quite clearly said that they are not a good way of making money. Therefore, I think you should take note of what he has said and do some investigation and get advice to see whether you should create them or not.

It seems you left your blog automated and start fishing... If you know a bit about the fisihing... Most of the time people return home spending whole day with nothing in hand. At least you got $3. If you creat at least 3000 such blogs and if each of them can save you $3 what else you need... |

Good Grief Golly Gee Whiz id anyone tell you to check the blogs? You may actually have more than $3 bucks I would look at the PR, Alexa, and or Inbound links also depending on the name you maybe able to sell these blogs to somone who can take them to another level possible adding real content and doing whatever, while paying you something. You may also want to add good content at least ten pages that are Keyword specific shut off the Feeds and build the incoming links. if you boosted them to $3 with junk imagine what they may be come with quality content and incoming links from articles or blog comments etc. Best of luck my friend. |

That is a sincere response to a good comment. Sometimes trends lead us down a common path but not always the best path for long term success. Learning from action is always a winner though. Quote:
Yes I say no matter what you decide to endeavor in marketing...if you are going to blog then seek out the best and immulate what they are doing and teaching. On day 2 I would have been finding out all I can about blogging from people that know and asking for tips to improve it. Many times we can shorten our learning curve by following proven strategies and guide maps. I love automatic as much as anyone but I know I have gotten the best gains from putting in the most efforts.

Dude look in your traffic stats and see what terms people searched to reach you. Then build quality posts around that. Buy some Plr and re write it. Try to add 1 page daily or at most 2 days. If you at a loss what to write go YouTube and search for a video and embed it in your site. Also take the keywords people used to find you and plug it into your favorite keyword tool and see what other terms come up. This should move you forward |

Thanks to everyone for encouragement and suggestions - although the posts were written in my thread for me all people who read the thread should take note of them. For me I wanted a way that was totally automated and did not want to type good quality posts. Each automated was an brief affiliate listing of eBay items. Plan was for user to find post in search engine then go to eBay and buy the item. Had only 3 people do that. Willye said 'Dude look in your traffic stats' which is brilliant advice - but I forgot to switch the monitoring on so lost lots of valuable info to learn from. (One thing I did learn though is switch on traffic stats analysis). Automation worked fine in listing the items I wanted listing. Problem with getting people to the blog / posts via search engines. What worked (keep same) - blog got posts I wanted it to. What did not work (change) - people did not get to the blog. Have some ideas on how to approach this - wish eBay still allowed digital products. |

Thanks for all the help with what to do with improving my blog. Improving my blog to improve within search results is not something I wish to pursue - looking at other ways of getting people to my blog. If you want to still post in the thread yet more useful information about improving automated blog in search results for other readers to benefit from then please do. I will try to give any useful responses I can. I tried not to make this post sound ungrateful - not sure if I succeeded - sorry if I didn't. |

Anyone who takes action deserves respect, because that is more than 99% of aspiring business people do, and then they complain about their j-o-b for the next 50 years. Take that step, make your first buck, and the rest will follow - that's what I did 33 years ago and have never worked for anyone else since. Just do it. |

Every project or just anything beggins with a first step. One thousand steps toward your goal begins with the first one (Not sure who said that). Don't take the first step - forget the second, third and all other... Shortly - Congratulations! I hope you're ready to take other steps towards long and exiting way to bigger and bigger achievements! ![]() Ah, almost forgot. Many things were said about procrastination. I offer you and all others having such problem visit mind2earn.com (link in my signature..) and read my friend's article '6 ways to beat procrastination'. It's systematic and really very helpful. Best luck! M.Bruso |

Aspergers Syndrome: im genuinely curious about this - you said that it "leads to perfectionist thinking which can lead to procrastination" and without being facetious, i could immediately think of a number of people that i know of who have been struggling with the 'taking action' part of their business due to what is loosely termed as analysis paralysis, but ive looked at their problems as being perfectionists rather than being procrastinators. how did you end up getting the diagnosis, as im sure not too many doctors would pick up on this and by the way, what kind of 'treatment' has been suggested? aside from that, im guessing that you've moved on with your business activities now, so how have things been going for you in the last 12 months? |
