Are there times when the going got so tough that you had the intention to give up? I had. Walking away from your dream to return to your old job or self seems to be so much easier. During challenging times, it seems like a natural thing to do; finding the easiest way out. Why go through those struggles?
Furthermore, there are so much uncertainties. “Am I guaranteed rewards at the end of those struggles?” “When is it going to end?” How many of us can predict the length of the tough times? It may only be the beginning. However, it can be coming to an end. The problem is we don’t know. Recently I went through one of those moments. Devastated, demoralized, discouraged - why they all start with ‘D’? We placed an advertisement to promote our new program, Youth Success Boot Camp. Venue booked. The result, a Big Fat Zero response. Why do I need to go through this? While I wanted to add value, I was put through this struggle. Is this a test from the Universe? Or is it a sign to give up? Maybe I’m not suppose to walk down this path. Seriously, doubt was flowing in my blood. If I knew between test or sign, it will make life so much easier. But I guess that’s life, turning and twisting made you guess along the way. I decided with my partner that it was a test. We decided to push on one last drive. Maybe success is round the corner. Maybe we are at the end of the struggle. We made calls to the media company, placing another advertisement. Then a miracle happened. Before the new advertisement is out, which is tomorrow, we already had 20 parents registered for the seminar. I am looking forward to the result of the new advertisement now. If I were to give up after the first advertisement, I would not have these 20 parents. I would not have experience the miracles of the Great Spirit. It has been written in so many books, sometimes success is just round the corner. Continue on the journey that was meant for you, success will definitely find you. A great lesson I got is to have someone who can share that vision of yours. It can be one person or a group. Going through tough times alone can be really tough. Fortunately for me, my wife whose also my business partner is there to share. Knowing that someone is there to support greatly helps the spirit. I had a distinction on those tough times. It was the tough times that made the good times sweet. When the parents emailed us one by one, my excitement went up inch by inch. Every parent who registered is such a gem to us. I started to appreciate every single person who’s coming to the seminar. So if you are facing a challenging time of your life, know this - all challenges are there so that victory wil taste sweeter. |

Up times and down times are part of life, rather these variations make the life more attractive. White can't have it's true appreciation till Black comes to manifest it. Day is to Nights, Light is to Dark.
But the thing to remember is every night has an end... And there's always hope of good times. Although temprary trough of Economic phase has made life devistating, but it has created an urge to keep your inner self alive by "GRATITUDE". |

I completely agree with you. One thing that I've found works is that you just decide, I AM going to be successful at this. Then the only question becomes WHEN you are going achieve your goals.
WHEN I finally start making some real money online (5 figures a month), I intend to post a thread entitled 'I Made $xx,xxx in 2781 days!' or however long it is. All the posts and WSO's about folks who made big bucks fast can actually be disheartening if you are not careful. But it doesn't matter how quickly you start, it's all about how you finish and whether you finish. So just decide.... I'm going to make this happen. It's that simple! And congrats on the 20 parents calling.... put a copy of this thread on your fridge as a reminder for the next time your phone or ordering process goes silent. Anne P.S. What kind of summer program is it? Or should I have followed a signature link to find out? |

Giving up is the absolute easiest thing you can do.
Thing is, it is also the worst thing you can do. |

It's easy to do and it's also easy not to... so giving up or not is just a choice we face in everyday. I want to share with you with some inspiration about quiting.
Don't Quit Poem by anonymous When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest! if you must; but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up, though the pace seems slow; You might succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than It seems to a faint and faltering man, Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor's cup. And he learned too late, when the night slipped down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit; It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit. Write thiese words down and live by them. Read it everyday for 30 days and you'll programme your mind to success. "A quitter never wins - a winner never quits" - Napoleon Hill |

I started internet marketing about 6 months ago. I joined with really good program and didn´t see any results for 4months. All this time i felt that i want to give up. But then i always remembered Lance Armstrong who has won Tour De France i think 7 times already! And he had to go through hell! Still he managed to defeat cancer and got back to track.
Quitting is the worst thing you can do and there´s no need to quit. Most failures only make you stronger and one day you thank that you had to struggle because those struggles made you to the point where you are at the moment. |

I like to think of it as, if you try hard at something you ALWAYS get the results you want.. The question is, how many times will you fail before you do and will you give up before you get to your goal?
Therefore, if you remember that whenever you feel down about failing, remember, you are that much closer towards succeeding. (Especially if you can learn from your mistakes) |

This is very inspiring. The truth is that your first paragraph caught my attention. Before I became an online writer I was an HR practitioner. All I wanted was to one day become an HR executive. Every employer I ever had though always gave me writing or editing jobs on the side. That kind of gave me the idea that maybe I was really meant for writing.
When I became an online writer though, I didn't really like it even if I did well at it. It also seemed very difficult for me to become my own boss which is what i want to do now. My feelings for my work and all the obstacles I've been encountering have been tempting me to go take the easy path and go back to my old HR job. I suppose all I really need is to never give up hope. |

Great post Skyjoe and congratulations,
I have been online since 2006 and am just now starting to see some real money coming in. And my standards are pretty humble, especially for the likes of this place. I agree with you whole-heartedly. There are times as a newbie that I have been so overwhelmed I felt paralyzed. My stomach would be in knots and I just wanted to give up. When that happened, I learned to stay away from the computer and work on a new perspective. Getting outside and back into nature always helps for me. Well, I am still here today..doing whatever it takes to make it works. I know, the time will arrive...it just a matter of time.. Just hanging there. Thank you all my fellow warriors...I am really inspired by all your powerful quotes, stories and motivation I love you all! |

Great Post!
I believe the Key is in your Statement "The Great Spirit" We can try all we want and have tons of determination and continue to fail. I believe when we are tested and have to look within to find that we are truly linked to a Power Greater than ourselves and ask for guidance and help we begin to achieve success not just in IM but in all aspects of our life. Clearly your intent was on helping others...The Universe, Great Spirit, what ever you want to call it naturally helped you as you are looking to help others. This is a Universal Truth we can all live by. Thanks again for the post! |

An update on the Youth Success Seminar. We had 4 sign ups for the Youth Success Boot Camp.
To me it was a great start. The whole team was filled with joy and are excited to have more runs of the seminar. A close friend told me, "now you have started, there's no stopping." You can visit Youth Success BootCamp - Inspiring the Next Generation to find out about the camp. For parents, there's a free ebook you can download as well. |

Thats really right.. a person who never quits definitely gets what he wants...one has to just keep trying and trying for all that success to come by as achievement in life doesn't come that easy..hard work in the right direction is the key to success.

I believe in serendipidity. Sometimes a good but different outcome from what we set out in the begining prevail. Imagine if we have given up, we would never be able to enjoy our effort.

I am going to launch my first WSO tomorow. I to have had moments of doubt... the one thing I know is that if I give up before trying there is no chance of success. If the product does not do well it will be another oprotunity to learn how to improve.
I also agree with the serendipity angle. I ended up in IM and SEO by complete accident. It was pursuing a completely different business that taught me SEO. Soon more of my customers wanted me working on thier sites because of mine than buying my product. You never know what life will bring you as long as you keep bringing your best to where your at! |

Thank you for this thread...
Hitting those walls can be discouraging for all of us but if the thing you are doing is good - a benefit or service to others - then it's almost a crime to give in. Think of the lost opportunities to give to others because someone gave up during the struggle. On the other hand, there are too many stories in history of how men and women succeeded but only after much failure. ALL men and women of renown came through discouragement and failure and struggle. The key is to come Through! Thomas Edison is a famous example. Just think if he hadn't persisted in inventing the light bulb to that 5000th(or whatever) time, we would possibly be still in the dark (although there is a good chance some other persistent chap would have eventually found a way). 5000 times!! And I get tired and discouraged when I don't get any sales after the 5th article!!! Just stay with it - if it is a benefit to others it's a good thing and success will come! |

Thanks for your insightful contribution. I know for myself personally I had to break free of the mindset that everything will be alright once future goals were achieved. I had to realize that there will always be hurdles, always setbacks, things will never be "perfect" and all we can do is take one step in the direction we want to be in. In the mean time we must treat each day like the precious gift it is and enjoy it to the fullest.

"Never ever give up" Things come for a reason, can you stand the shame of giving up because your tired as to how your life goes? Life should be enjoyed every minute, seconds of every day, its all worth the reason, you'll be grateful

A quick update of the Boot Camp.
I had a meeting with a new found friend who is also targeting parents as their customers. He had thrown some exciting ideas that we will be working together to bring more values to the kids. After the meeting, the values we are going to add is so much that we have to extend the Boot Camp from 3 days to 5 days. This is going to be extremely exciting. |

If you're thinking of quitting, you're really afraid of failure. To keep me gong I have posted on my fridge this from Marianne Williamson
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” |

I came across that quote once before and it struck a cord with me. It's true. I'm not afraid of failing because I've done that in the past many times. I was afraid of succeeding because I was afraid it would change me to be something I wouldn't like. I finally came to accept that money isn't evil, just the love of it. It's a means to an end and the more I have the more good I can do with it. So bring on my millions...

Great post, at times in my life giving up seemed to always be the easy way out although after along time I realized it was all about the people I was around success breads success this has to have been the best advice anyone has ever giving me when I always thought about throwing the towel in I realized that the only true reason I was doing that is because the people around me all said you can't do that. Find people that have the same interests as you to leade you to success and giving up will be a thing of the past and remember the most jealous people in your life are the closest to you they really don't want to see you succeed get some new friends thanks.

You just have to find a way to keep pushing. You just gotta tell yourself that you can't quit. Quitting is not optional. You have to sell out to your dream. If you don't do it, no one else will.

I agree on never giving up, but also on making changes when appropriate.
If one (or more) things are not giving you any results, search for more possibilities and go after them. Dagmar |

There are times that you feel you cant go on. The feeling of knocked-up and wants to surrender. But the thing is, you cant be at top at all times. You must feel what its like to be on other side of the winning team. From there produce the best solutions, precautions, backup plans, and everything in between for you to stand up again for another fight on life.

I've got a nice quote by Emerson that hopefully you guys can identify with:
"The greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up everytime we fail." I've lived with the motto everytime I encounter setbacks. It just keeps me going. |

When you give up, quit, lose hope or abandon your dream or goal, you give both yourself and other external circumstances permission to sabotage your efforts. Having your hopes dashed can damage your self-confidence. No matter how bad the situation seems, believe in yourself and in your ability to succeed.

Wow! things are really moving for you now, congrats SkyJoe! & thank you. It's really motivating to hear about people marching on through adversity & coming out the other side.
It can be hard to keep the spirits up in challenging times & it can be easy to drift into feeling like a failure if you're not careful. I think it's important to give ourselves a break! Yes, acknowledge our mistakes but then focus on how much we have achieved so far on our journey, how much we've learnt, what we've done well. And if you feel you're really slipping - ask for help! There's so many people on this forum giving out great advice & support, I'm so glad to have found it. |

I admire all of you for your strengths. I'll be honest, there have been times when I have thought that I am at the end and that I have given up. After a period of time, I look back and it dawns on me that my lowest point was also my strongest moment because giving up forces me to move on. With moving on comes new ideas and new determinations to do the best that I can do. It's then that I see that I never really gave up at all.
