Coffee & Chocolate have powerful healing compounds - but they all get roasted - not just out of them but converted into additional toxins which (pyrolytic compounds) - by the way are part of the addiction. Look for alternatives & wean yourself form their stronghold. The Sugar as well The candle burns bright but burns real fast - and hard. Chris |

Personally, I don't drink coffee. I don't think its good for you because it stains your teeth. That's right! And if you're tired, get more rest. If you don't want to do that, try water. (Sometimes we lack energy simply because we are dehydrated) Caffeine is a stimulant, and it goes against what your body is naturally trying to tell you if you have it when you are tired. (If you're tired don't try and chemically stimulate your body - Rest!) Don't fight your body and its signals! Work with it. It's just unnecessary most the time. Unless going to a lot of coffee dates (and thats all coffee IS good for), drink water. Be like water my friend! |

It has good and bad properties. I've been trying to cut back because I have trouble with irregular heartbeats. I've noticed that the boost I get from coffee seems more psychological, so for me even decaf or tea helps me perk up.

I'm seriously thinking its something thats not bad for you unless you drink it a lot. Maybe something that is good for you when in moderation. Kind of like on the same level as chocolate and wine. Thats my take on it. -Eric |

Coffee does cotain some antioxidants, however the downside is that it messes with your blood sugar which can lead to insulin resistance and weight gain, depletes vital nutrients such as magnesium, stimulates your adrenal glands which can lead to adrenal exhaustion, and uses up methyl groups in the liver to detoxify the chlorogenic acid it contains. There does seem to be a link with high coffee drinkers and depression. This may be due to using up methyl groups which we need to make the happy brain chemicals. If you like coffee limit it to two cups a day.

Hi, I love coffee.... And caffeine in moderation might be a good thing, at least it gets you through the day.. Although too much of it might cause disruption in sleep pattern and awareness as well as other possibly cardiological side effects.. So maybe have 1 a day? |

I think if you apply a good balance of everything you eat and drink, including coffee it does have health benefits. There is an article on WebMD that is suggesting from the latest research that Coffee may actually lower the risk of Type 2 diabetes, Parkinsons and Colon Cancer. People who suffer from migraines and headaches are given medications with the main ingredient being....Caffeine. Hope this helps ![]() Cheers Victoria |

I read the book "Caffeine Blues" and it totally convinced me to get off coffee. I did not, however go cold turkey. My wife and I used Teechino very effectively to wean ourselves off over a two week period. I would recommend 3-4 weeks as I was still totally shot. In fact day 14 I was literally putting just a 1/2 tbsp. of regular coffee, and that made a huge difference. I did go back on and had a full strength Starbucks Venti and I immediately found myself angry and short tempered. Just because we don't think we feel it's doing us harm does not mean it isn't. Kind of like Hydrogenated oil in the body. It may not make us sick right away...but builds up over time. |

Coffee has recently been found to contain some very important antioxidants that prevent cancer and attack free radicals in your body. I have heard that caffeine slows down your growth hormones. I have also heard that Caffeine is good for your skin and that coffee may have an insulin-regulating effect However, like anything else, you can go overboard, so drink up in moderation and enjoy your coffee! |

I love coffee and the thing I love most about it is the aroma...oh, and the ritual of making it in a cafetiere (French press) every morning... Could never give it up entirely and I, too, believe in everything in moderation. It's what my Mum told me and that's good enough for me! Besides, coffee grounds are great used as a skin scrub and apparently work against the dreaded cellulite. I say apparently because I'm far too busy drinking it to slap it against my thighs but you could always give it a go and tell me if it works... |

It really depends on how much you consume. One cup a day is not going to cause any trouble. But if you start drinking more like say a few cups a day, you will begin to have trouble. Its like anything else, a little if fine, but a lot is poison.

I've heard conflicting advice on coffee but it seems that science is finding quite a lot of benefits with having no more than 1-2 cups per day. The thing i know about coffee is that it is acidic and actually can dehydrate you. You should drink about 2 glasses of water for every cup of joe and I usually keep to a half cup in the morning and quarter cup in the after for about 1 full serving. Works for giving me just the jolt i need for the day without the empty calories and reliance on caffeine. |

I've had a pretty bad coffee addiction. I've switched to green tea and it's worked very well for me. Yerba mate is also good. The information on coffee is very contradictory. I read the research carefully and concluded it was probably ok with some health benefits. The studies that say it's bad for you don't take other factors into account (like the person's diet is crap and even without coffee they'd still have all these problems). But I eventually gave up coffee because it was messing with my ability to get a deep and restful sleep at night. It was also rough on my stomach at times (I did drink a lot). |

As a side note, when I needed to stop drinking coffee, my blood pressure and pulse rate reduced considerably... so my own benefits came in quitting caffeine. I now drink it once in a while, but very rarely and never more than a cup at a time. | |

Hi Michael, I don´t drink a lot of coffee because after a couple of cups, it gives me the shakes and makes me nauseous. I know if doesn´t have that effect on everybody, but for me, it´s not good to drink too much. On the other hand, my wife suffers with asthma and if she has an attack which isn´t improved by using her inhaler, she drinks very strong, black coffee until she can get treatment, which makes her feel a lot better. Apparently, it´s something to do with the caffeine. Coke also has a similar effect - the drink, not the drug! So, in answer to your question as to whether coffee is good or bad for you, I guess it depends on, a) the individual b) how much of the stuff you actually drink Like others have said, if it´s in moderation, I guess it can´t be too bad for you. Just my opinion. All the best, Brian |

A good quote that comes to mind: "Get rid of dependencies and listen more to your voice and less to others. Cultivate new skills" - from the book 50th Law Of Power I used to drink coffee occasionally, but I said fck it a long time ago the same way I did with smoking and alcohol. Now I drink water a lot and regularly and I have so much energy that it keeps me going all day everyday! |

Coffee in moderate amounts is good for you, studies have proven it. Remember in moderation, excess coffee drinking can be extremely harmful and addicting. My last boss and to a good friend cannot start their day without coffee. If they do not drink coffee they get cranky and even a migraine.

I was drinking as many as 6 or 8 cups of coffee a day... I was a truck driver for 27 years and when I wasn't driving I was online all night and day trying to figure out his whole MMO gig. I now drink maybe one or two cups a week and that is only decaf. The caffeine started giving me the shakes so I had to give it up. I didn't think I could but after kicking a 2 or 3 pack a day smoking habit 3 years ago I had no trouble giving up the caffeine Peace Scott |

I've heard that coffee makes no harm if you drink it wisely! 1-2 cups of good coffee a day won't break your organism. At least if your like something that means your organism needs it!

Like all foods, all plants, tobacco, weed, you name it, God made coffee. If we live in Balance, moderate in our intake of any food or substance, we have the best chance of not incurring disease through overuse, or deficiency, of anything. |

Rather than work off various opinions, the secret is to test oneself for coffee and how much one requires a day. One great way to test oneself is by muscle testing and it is very easy to do this with some practice and a good teacher. Coffee works by stimulating the body to increase glucose production, so it increases brain glucose levels and makes one feel better if one's blood and brain glucose levels are too low. When one uses muscle testing, one can easily get the dosage right for oneself without over stimulating oneself. Truth testing is invaluable for so many areas in life especially in health matters as above and in the spiritual area so that one can have Spiritual Freedom and then Spiritual Compatibility with one's soul mate. ![]() ![]() |

I choose to believe in moderation ok. It can however cause dehydration due to the caffeine so you need to drink an extra cup of water for every cup of coffee you drink. I love my mocha's. But at times it seems to give me a headache. I'm sensitive to gluten and just heard that coffee contains gluten? It was on Dr. Oz. I've had dandylion tea, it tastes comparable to coffee and is more herbal. I also once had gano derm, I think that was the name? It comes from a mushroom and is touted as a healthy coffee alternative. It was so good.

Personally I'd stay away from coffee.. many people I know can't function without coffee in the morning.. sounds like a borderline drug addiction to me.. It's never good when you rely on a specific substance just to function.

I don't drink coffee and to be honest I never will. Caffeine is not good for the body. I know far too many who can't make it through the day without coffee and I don't agree with that. Your body shouldn't have to rely on something in such an intense way that you yourself cannot function properly, effectively, naturally or normally without it.

There are so many things worse than coffee, just make sure you drink the "real" coffee not the instant rubbish that passes for coffee. I grind the beans [organic and fairtrade] and brew it in a plunger, bliss! "Coffee is Viagra for the brain" |

I don't know about the health facts, but what I can tell is that its extremely addictive. Throughout the last few years, I have grown extremely addicted and now I can't sleep at night Also, coffee is largely responsible for me getting into the IM niche. I stayed up late nights, and browsed a lot as I had nothing better to do. Slowly, I realized people have been making a lot of money on the internet, and decided to try my part in the field. Now I am making a lot of money, but still, I miss a regular life.
