Physical or Mental Prowess?

This forum is for "Mind Warriors", and there are a ton of threads on developing your mind.

But how many people here spend time developing their bodies too? I have to admit, I like the idea of being more physically fit, but I think I spend too much time hunched over my cramped keyboard (usually my 10 inch netbook) typing.

Any inspiration out there?

  • I spend plenty of time developing my body.

Regular exercise is crucial for building and maintaining a sharp, healthy mind.

I find doing a quick set of calisthenics is great to break up the monotony of staring at a screen for hours. Nothing too crazy, just different types of pushups, pullups, dips, and planks. A Swiss ball or kettlebell are great tools to work in if you have access to them.

One set every 30 minutes and before you know it, you've had a nice little workout.

I'm lucky enough to have a basketball court and pool where I live, so I'll head downstairs for a pickup game or a few laps.

Other than that, plenty of weightlifting at the local gym. I want to get into martial arts but haven't found the time lately.

Keeping physical fitness is my primary goal than anything else. I regularly go to gym and try to keep myself fit.

Both are needed. Mente sana corpo sano.

A mix of meditation and daily physical activity, whilst eating healthy are best. Depends on what your goals, and motivations are to be honest.

How well you think and how well your mind works is directly and absolutely dependant on how healthy your body is. Your mind is, after all, a part of your body.

Diet and exercise can and do make the difference between success and failure in all things, physical mental and emotional.

Feel free to PM me if you want to know what exact changes you need to make to your exercise routine or diet to maximize mental capacity and output.
