Hi Ryan,

I have also had the situation where I literally died and I actually remember it vividly. It does change your way of thinking a lot. You can never explain it to somebody who hasn't been there.

Hi Ryan,

Crazy story. As a fellow "heart problem guy", did the doctors ever test you for a syndrome called Brugada? It's a rare condition that causes SADS (sudden adult death syndrome) and quite literally causes the heart to stop.

I was just tested for it (negative, phew) but, I just wanted to throw it out there in case you run into any more trouble in the future.

then there is the other shoe .. with the research going on life expectancy barring traumatic events .. will go over 100 years ..and could reach double what it is now .

so life can be unexpectedly short ..not worth passing up chances to enjoy life now .. but it can also be very long ..so just how long are you going to put up with suffering .

and just how much suffering are you willing to put up with before you chose to enjoy life .

life like every day can be you last but life to have tens of thousands of more days to live like that

Glad you are here Ryan. You are obviously a survivor. I had 4 cardiac arrests, 3 angioplasties, and 2 heart attacks before I was 40. I am now 55 and life is great. Hang in there!

Wow this an amazing story.

For those that are wondering, I actually met Ryan in person and he's a really great, genuine, guy that seriously wants to help.

I, myself, have never been in such a serious situation and can see that it's been a huge life changer for you. To know that you want to leave your current job and really start something that will allow you your freedom is a huge thing, especially the fact that you've already begun.

The answer is now, "not much."

I've learned to let a lot go, for sure. I recently read an article about this new type of watch-device which, apparently, counts down until the end of your life.

It is based on a series of health-questionnaires, and it tries to predict the end. Of course, there's no way for it to be accurate because one could be hit by a bus tomorrow. But the point is that it is based on one's health, family history, etc.

Many either hate the concept because they don't want the reminder, or they love it because of the reminder.

I agree, life is great. So glad to have you here and I really appreciate the comment. I pretty much take it moment to moment, and I find life is much better that way.

Craig, actually I've never heard of that. But you bet I'm going to ask!

So far, it sounds like it's Neurocardiogenic Sycope, or high vagal tone. They can't figure out why the heart kept stopping though.

But I'll tell you, when you are waiting to figure things out, it's scary as hell.

The freedom is time is priceless. It's certainly a big step, but life's about risk, and everyone who is successful takes risk to some degree or another.

An old friend of mine once asked me that if I KNEW that in a year from now I would be super successful, would every struggle during the year leading up to it be worth it, provided I KNEW my success awaited after that year?

I said, "Hell yes."

Then the only thing preventing me from moving forward is the not KNOWING. And not knowing creates fear. So I am deciding, now, that I do KNOW. I think that all-or-nothing, take-no-prisoners mindset makes the difference.

Interestingly enough, I got to the hospital 8 MINUTES after my insurance benefits kicked in!

I arrived at 12:08AM and my benefits kicked in at 12:00AM. Talk about a close call for an $85,000 hospital stay! I know someone at the insurance company looked at it and said "REALLY?! What a coincidence!"

$85,000??????? Sorry, The United States Government has been a big failure to many of its people. This is not right at all.

If I was living in the United States when I was 14, THIS POST WOULD NOT EXIST!!!!! I WOULD BE DEAD!!!!
Valid enough reason for me as a Canadian to fight for U.S medical rights.

Sorry guys for the shock, but I am almost in tears right now.......... It hurts knowing this..

Thank you! I was back at work a week later (no paid time off yet).

I felt like keeling over and always wore a monitor device and BP cuff on while I was on the phone at work.

A client would complain. I found it difficult to take their complaint or bad attitude seriously. I wanted to be like, "You're stressed because there's a ding in your car and had a headache?!!" It's okay, they didn't know.

It makes me really motivated to finally have the one thing I never did, which is the freedom of time, leaving the job behind, and making money on my own terms!
