Fail and see the crippling power of regret

One of the most positive things that can happen to people is when they encounter a setback, and they experience regret. Once they experience regret, they realize how crippling it is.

When you're always looking back, it's very hard to look forward. When you're always trying to do a post-mortem on things that happen a few years ago, it's very hard to look at the future and be very hopeful.
If you want to succeed, you have to look ahead.

You cannot always keep looking back. You cannot engage in regret. This is why regret is so crippling. One of the best things that can happen with failure is that you will see how crippling regret is.

If you fail hard enough, you may realize that by looking at the past, you're not doing yourself any favours in the present. More importantly, you're not laying the ground work for future success.

There are many kinds of failures that will fill us with regret. There are many kinds of failures that will make us doubt ourselves. Instead of trying to run away from these failures, truly soak in the emotional gravity of regret and self-doubt.

Celebrate it.

Resolve to no longer regret, to no longer be in doubt. That's when you start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

    I really like this.

    Again, its all perspective.
A failure is something we have accomplished, survived through, and have wisdom over.
Experiencing a failure is something many are afraid of. So when we do, we should be grateful for our will to continue, and our wisdom of that failure.

Sure, the outcome wasn't what you pictured, but now you know that. Before you did not.
Someone else may attempt the same path as you, but be afraid to attempt and fail where you did, and now surpass.

    Think about that!

    ...some disagreement here .

there are patterns in our lives that tend to repeat over and over .without us being aware of it events that we may regret are symptoms of these patterns ..and if we spend lots of time regretting an event . we set ourselves up for having the pattern that caused the event to serve up a similer event or bigger event to regret .

we also create our future from our pasts and if we don't address these patterns we are fated to keep recreating the pasts with it's regrets .

We are on earth .. We are Human beings there is a vast menu of different events we can experience ...regret is like a big pile of poop .. in nature pig piles of poop are part of a healthy ecosytem and loaded with opportunity for fertility .

in humanity we call poop waste ..and do what we can to remove it from the cycle .

so in our live real painfull and regrettable things will happen .. do we look at these as bad.. or do we turn these event into fertilizer for a better life .

..sorry for for the not so rosy look.. ..there have just been many piles of poop..that i let pile up over 35 years ..that i have spent the last year or so turning over and allowing to become fertilizer for a better future .

Everything that has happened (and hasn't happened) has made me into the person I am today. And, that will continue to the person I am tomorrow.

    Therefore, I don't have any regrets. : )

Having no regrets is great. Seems like you did everything right I do regret some things but I know everything lies in my hands and trust me with knowing I have the power I won't have any regrets in the future.

I agree. We need to keep looking forward. Getting caught up in the past can be unhealthy and lead to negative energy and a weakened mindset.

As entrepreneurs we need to have the ability to accept our past actions and circumstances and focus on the things we can control in the present and future.
