Develop the winning Mindset

Everything major plan or big business has a birth place - that is from the mind (the source where every action flows out from).

Before you jump into the Internet marketing scene, one of the first things that you must fine-tune is your mindset.

But what does it mean to develop the right mindset? Here are a few suggestions:

- Making money online is NOT a get rich quick scheme. You don‟t just „dump money‟ into some marketing scheme hoping to get money in return.

- You must invest time into your education. Depending on your aptitude, you don‟t just read an E-book or two and expect to become an Internet marketing expert. After all, how long did it took you to get your university degree?

- You must invest time for trial and error. No one gets it „right‟ on the first try. You must be prepared for failures and mistakes. Learn from them and make sure you get up and fight again!

- You must be prepared to put up with negative people. There are many in the world out there who do not believe that it is possible to make money online. When you put your plans into action, you will face resistance from your beer-drinking buddies, your family members or even your BOSS! If you don‟t have the endurance, you will succumb to the pressure.

-You must be prepared to go all the way. An Internet marketing business is just like any other business in the „offline‟ world. If you are not prepared to go all the way, you will give up halfway because you have put in a half- hearted attitude into your business. Remember the golden rule: how badly do you want success?

Very valid points. It would seem, to me, that we as online marketers need to change to way that we advertise our businesses. Too many lure people in with the idea that they will just immediately be turning money hand over fist in the first 24 hours. Time for some truth in advertising by those of us who are entrepreneurs looking to build a long term business.

Great post! None of us learned how to do anything by just reading about it. We took the information in the book and used it as a guide and took action on the information we read. It was the experience gained from the action that we really learned the most from. Doug

All good points Marco. I really like this one you wrote...

I have found more people succeed online if they have the necessary Internet marketing skills. It certainly is shorter the getting a college degree, but it does take time and effort nonetheless and that is why most give up to soon.

For some people it even takes as long as getting a college degree but it's quite worth it to stick to it and keep going!

Unfortunately is it like that! Some marketers out there still trying to make the fast cash while promising things like that and there are more than enough new marketers believing it because of desperation or unawareness.

I will also add few lines about mindset here....Motivation level of each of us depletes very quickly by each passing day from when we decide to take-up any challenge....This actually does very fast if it is in the Internet marketing field as it seems that all others are making huge grands other than you....

So, It is also important reinforce the right mindset with some kind of repeated ritual on each and every day to keep the right kind of mindset and motivation.

I hope, this will help someone...

Thanks for a great post, Marco. If I may add, we tend to interchange mindset and belief system. Mindset is created at conscious level and belief system is created at sub-conscious level. A more dangerous enemy is our own belief system. We may have got all the required mindset correct but if we don't have our belief system aligned with what we wanted in our life, we will not able to succeed.

Many people would have their mindset right and take all the actions necessary to succeed but are never successful - be it their professional or private life.

When we create a winning mindset and winning belief system and take action, that is when we succeed.

In order to develop a winning mindset, you gotta develop an obsession with success. In order to develop a winning mindset you must think of it morning, noon and night. In order to develop a winning mindset you gotta be willing to sacrifice change and removing old bad habits from your life. In order to develop a winning mindset you gotta be willing to do whatever it takes and not let any obstacle get in your way. Now how bad do you really want to win?

In my opinion, to have a winning mindset, you need a compelling reason why you want to win or succeed. You must first find your WHY.

For most of us, we have the "Why" but it isn't compelling. When we start taking action and start to meet obstacles, we retreat back to our comfort zone.

On the other hand, if you have a compelling reason, it will keep driving you forward. When you run into obstacles, this will keep you taking more actions. Because the pain or fear from taking that action is much smaller than what it would be if you didn't do it.

Most of us know that the key to success is to keep taking action. I feel that this is the reason why most people keep saying they need to take action, but in the end they didn't do it. Do you have your compelling reason for wanting that success?

  • Thank you for the post. The best way that has helped me have a winning mindset is by reading books! Lots of them. I read Self improvement books every day for about half an hour, it changes you completely without forcing yourself to change. It's weird how it happens but it has helped me tremendously.

I am guilty as charged thought I would get rich quick, began studying success and coming to the conclusion that I was not in the right mindset and that I was not willing to work hard enough or do enough planning to succeed.
