The Video That Inspired Me To Make My First $ Online
Believe it or not, this IS the video that inspired me to make my first $ online on Clickbank and Amazon.
Though there are many others be it free or paid video courses, this is the one that gave me the biggest Ah-Ha moment.
Not about making $ but giving value to others.
Not just in business but in relationships and ALL areas of life as well.
In this video, Eben Pagan talks about 2 books.
One book is worth a $1K while the other is $12.95.
Then he explains why and introduces himself as David DeAngelo - his alternate name in dating niche besides the current business he is running.
When he was in dating business, he got many guys - be it his prospects, subscribers or customers - asking him the same question on how to date the girl they REALLY want quickly and easily.
Or what is the pickup line they should use to get the girl attracted and interested in them easily.
Then he went on to talk about pickup line is just a connection to the girl but it does not get the girl interested immediately.
You might be asking:
Wesley, what does dating got to do with internet marketing?
My answer is EVERYTHING.
From start to finish.
The first time you got the prospect hooked in wanting a free report, videos or both with your headlines, bullet points or just a video with an optin form.
Then you provide solutions as to what they need and want in that report and video.
While recommending products and building relationships with them at the same time.
This is where the autoresponder, blog and squeeze page came about.
An autoresponder is for you to send emails to your subscribers who optin for your free report in such that you are NOT spamming them but sharing useful and helpful info with them besides recommending products.
A blog is for you to build relationship with them by keeping them updated on who you are, how you got started online, your daily progress and important lessons you learn in life that can be applied to internet marketing.
A squeeze page is what I already mentioned.
Even if you are promoting physical products, the same concept of giving value as in giving them what they need and want applies though having a squeeze page is optional though most retailers are doing that right now.
The point I am trying to say is MOST people - including myself when I got started - ONLY think of making $ for themselves.
But not everybody KNOWS how to create value for others as in taking into consideration what their prospects will benefit if they buy from them.
Creating value - according to Eben Pagan in this video is about treating others the same way you like to be treated.
And in order to do that, you have to understand people.
Not just by talking about yourself which everybody does but by LISTENING, ASKING QUESTIONS, REMEMBERING and UNDERSTANDING from the other person's perspective.
Because if you can do that, people will be more open to you and you will have an easier time marketing to them.
And if you can help them meet their needs and wants, do you know what is going to happen?
Those people will probably share with their families and friends and their families and friends will also come to you for help and advice.
And if you can help them, they also share with their families and friends and this whole viral marketing chain reaction begins like watching a great movie, tasting great food etc and sharing with your loved ones.
If you can help ONE person by making a difference to his or her life, you gain a small measure of success.
If you can help MANY people by doing the same, you gain a HUGE measure of success.
And that is the whole point Eben brought up instead of thinking of what you can get from people like most marketers.
That, my friends is what makes the difference -
Between those earning 4 figures and below
And those earning 5 figures and above.
Even if you are doing internet marketing and not required to meet people regularly, you still got to provide valuable tips and advice through your emails and blogs besides just promoting your squeeze page and selling products be it your own or others.
And believe me when I say:
Understanding and not understanding this can make or break your business
And even your life.
So if you have to, watch, download and even watch this video again and again if you have to.
BTW the 2 books Eben mentioned refers to 2 types of people.
1. Those earning a lot of money and
2. Those earning average salary.
