ATTENTION - #1 Mistake To Avoid

The difference between those that are really successful on the Internet and those that are struggling is the action of goal setting and mindset.

There are people out there that have made it big by some act of nature or fluke, but in most cases when you hear about the 'overnight success story', there was a lot of planning to make it to that one night.

Another key difference is to think goal setting is a passive activity. You just dont write goals down - you EXPECT them to happen and do what it takes to manifest them. There is a fundamental difference expecting and hoping, because if you write them down and arent whole-heartedly determined to do what it takes to make it happen, it wont.

- #1 Mistake most marketers make-

Thinking goal setting is a waste of time, and skipping it. DONT DO THAT! It is probably the missing piece that brought you here in the first place.

Getting goal setting to be a regular part of every day, every week, and every year, is what will make your venture a long-term success.

Write them down and post them where-ever you go, to remind yourself why you're doing the thing you are doing.

For newbies, this step is critical and will save you thousands of dollars in the long run. Because if you go rushing into the I.M market without a plan, you'll end up spending $5K before you even realise you have no idea why and what you brought.

Goal setting isnt about improving your golf game - yet. Its simply just getting some fundamentals in place so that you can start you're venture that will be suitable and sustainable for you.

The bottom line is, if you dont know where you're going, you'll never know if you got there.

Cheers,

Blue

Great advice Blue totally agree with you here.

The key is having a laser vision of what you want and break down your goals into small pieces. If you don't have a plan of attack you might start running around in circles and spending your money like crazy.

    Hey Blue,

    I agree with you 100%!!

Goal setting is CRUCIAL when it comes to achieving whatever you want in life.

I always like to say that if you don't have a goal set, you're aiming for nowhere.

That's exactly where anyone will go if they didn't set their expectation.

    Awesome post!

I find that those of us who are truly successful and titans in what we do rarely use notes or goals. We avoid any of the self help tactics, pep talks, and we don't need awards, trophies, or 'treats' to help us do one task from the next. With no direction to go on we wake up each day and make huge leaps and bounds towards growing a business and never even consider the money we are making or if others care. I think some people are naturally strong, confident and able to tackle this kind of thing.. while others can't seem to even get started.

Agreed. This is exactly how the corporate world works.
The CEO sets several goals and sends them down a level where each goal is broken down to multiple tasks.
These tasks become the goals for the next level down, and so on.
Set a goal, break it down to tasks that become new goals, and so on.
Now you have your road map or blueprint.

Yes! People don't realize that the overnight success was 5-10 years of hardwork and they just finally hit got their big break.

If only marketers taught newbies and others FIRST to set their goals. If they did, they wouldnt be going around looking for new cracked eggs and shiny objects, instead they'll be having their own business or campaign up and running by now.

      Its just common sense.

Thanks to everyone who agreed and showed a little insight coming from your point-of-views, it was great.

      Cheers,

The best thing that happened to me when I first started was setting some easy income goals and actually hitting them. When that happened I knew I could do this.

Today beyond medium and long term goals setting daily and weekly goals, writing them down, and marking them off as I achieve them seems to work for me. Plus it helps hold me accountable since I am my own boss and am really a nice guy to work for.

  • Agree with you Great Advice.

In the beginning always attain small and easy goals. After that set your mind for long goals.

    Thanks
