Thanks for the reminder. You may find there're so many distractions that keep coming on your way. These distractions will distract you from achieving your goals. So, the key word here is FOCUS.

    Cheers.

Thanks. It is a restatement of Gandhi's famous quote: BE the change you want to SEE.

Be the change you want to see IN THE WORLD. Is the actual quote.

When you make the choice to modify your place in the world it literally changes around you because you deal with things differently, develop different perspectives and so on.

My life is pretty awesome but I have a friend who is negative and self sabotaging. It's amazing to hear what he has to deal with in his life because of his way of thinking. His thought process also makes everything difficult, dramatic and offensive.

Just knowing this guy has helped amplify the importance of keeping my mind together.

And, while I can appreciate your desire to be a good friend to this person, you really need to be careful as their negativity can rub off onto you. Some people thrive on drama, even self created and will drag you down with them. Who knows what causes this type of behavior, whether boredom or maybe he's just been kicked around by life one too many times. Whatever the reason for the self sabotage, you don't want to be that way. It's good that you are aware.

This is very true and a funny thought that occured to me was how much time people spend on their phones doing things that don't really add value to their lives. So what do they become? Time wasters and distracted souls that can't accomplish much. They also become so dependant on their mobile devices they can't seem to live without them. So Sad!

That is why I listen to and read positive and inspirational audio and books daily. As human beings we have a natural tendency to focus on the negative and the things that are going wrong, when in reality we also have a lot of things going good that we take for granted.

      I agree completely.

Focus is everything. In any moment we can feel confident and excited or overwhelmed and scared.

Its so easy to get caught up in the problems or the challenges or what we don't have.

In a practical sense, here are a couple of ways to really start controlling your focus:

      1. Ask a good question each morning. Instead of just hoping that you will feel positive ask a question that will put you into a positive mindset. Such as what's great about my life right now? Or in a productive way "what is one action that I can take today that will improve my business?" Questions control our focus.

      2. Visualize. Literally see what you want as opposed to what you don't want. Visualize your goals and see them from a place of you having already achieved them. 5 minutse a day is a great start.

      3. Listen/read/watch good material. Focus your attention on things that will help you. even just 15-30 minutes a day will help you to change how you think incredibly quickly.

Basic ideas, but if you actually did them, they will help you to control your focus.

Exactly. I try to make it a point to read the BIOGRAPHIES of successful people. They share a certain mindset that CHANGES YOU the more you FOCUS on it.

Much Agreed! This simple statement has incredible life changing power.
I remember the first time I really understood this concept, I was listening to Brian Tracy when he said "You become what you think about most of the time". Instant paradigm shift!

Agreed! Earl Nightingale said it best "We Become What We Think About". Our mind is still one of the most undiscovered places in the world. Ever since the dawn of the early wise men the power of thought has been used to accomplish marvelous achievements. From Einstein to Marcus Aurelius "Thought" has been the driving force to create the most beautiful things we see, touch and use today.

"Thought" creates an Image and when seen over and over again with the power of our minds that image becomes attached to our subconscious which must be created in the physical form to be seen with our eyes. It's an awesome process but only with directed thoughts and repetition is it truly experienced in physical form. This process is one of the greatest methods that have been used to create what we now use and "most of the time" take for granted from the Airplane to the Radio. Use your thoughts for your better future. Your mind doesn't care what you put in it but it will give back what you planted 100% of the time. Plant Wisely My Friends

You can focus on, for example, an income of $10,000 online. You can sit and read that goal every day but unless you have an effective and consistent strategy, you will not reach that goal.

Thanks for the reminder! And, this is why you must let go of the anger and hate and hurt feelings from the past as it eats away at you daily and after awhile the only thing you have left is bitterness as that's what you have become. A good thing to remember, focus on what you want to become and you will achieve that in every possible way in your life.

If you focus on the important qualities and strengths you have, you'll move faster toward your goals. If you focus on the wrong qualities you have and have the wrong attitude toward things, you end up going no where fast.

Too often we focus on staying busy and not working on anything important. Yes we are doing things, but are those things necessary, do they have to be done? We need to spend a little time focusing on removing the unnecessary things in our lives so we can come full circle back to the most important things in our lives and accomplishing them, becoming them, being the values we hold dear in our life.

There are so many distractions in life that can take us away from the important things and people. And, you can run around all day stamping out brush fires and at the end of the day not have done anything important. You have to figure out what's important and block out those 'attractive nuisances' (Facebook, friend drama, pointless project that won't pay off, etc) and focus on the prize.

Great point. This is a very common pattern with most people. Staying busy is NOT the point. Focusing on the 20% of the things we do that produce 80% of our results is the KEY to success.

Thanks for the motivation! Whenever I feel like the stars are not aligning, I focus on things that I could have, and all the people that I can help when my business starts rolling. I also acknowledge that life is not just going to hand you all the things that you want. You have to work hard to be worthy of the goals that you want to have.
