6 Shocking Reasons Why You Can't Attract What You Want

Hi guys,

I often get emails from my lists asking me why they can't make affirmations and/or visualizations work for them despite all their efforts. I found 5 critical components that, when missing, could cause failure in manifesting what you want:

1) Repetition - You need to do it repeatedly on a daily basis. You can't just do your affirmation or visualization one day and forget about it for a few days, then come back to doing it again. You have to stay consistent day by day, and do it several times in a day.

2) Emotion - You have to really feel like you're having, doing or being what you want right now. Perhaps the most important emotion is desire. You have to desire it so much that you feel thrilled every time you're thinking about it.

3) Belief - Jesus said in Mark 11:24, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, BELIEVE that you have received it, and it will be yours." Enough said.

4) Acceptance - If you want to be rich but you reject when someone gives you a gift, you're not opening yourself up to receiving from the universe.

5) Giving - You must be willing to give in order to receive more of it. If you want more money, give some away. If you want more love and respect, do the same to others. This is the Law of Karma at work.

6) Gratitude - You have to appreciate everything you have right now. Even if you still don't have what you want, be thankful for what you already have. Think of everything you're grateful for. It could be anything - the air you breathe, the sunshine, the rain, your family, your job, your friends, your health... even as simple as being able to eat and walk are things to be grateful for.

    now quick question..

    are they attracting some of what they want and just focusing on what they don't have .

    if you are constantly focusing on what you are not attracting or do not have..you will get a longer list of what you do not have.

    then there is the other thing that seems kind of silly .. but is huge .. a lot of people spend a huge amount of energy ..while they are wanting something simulating the feeling of having..and many times when they actually get it ..it falls far short of the the simulation of the imagination .

    90 percent of the joy of having something or getting something .is going through and remembering the process you went through of getting it.

      I agree. It's called "Work"! It's all about the process,
      not the end result, that gives a feeling of accomplishment.

        though a large part of it is the work .. the work is not the most important element ..

        you can roek hard make money and take your family out for a lasagna dinner at a nice restaurant and spend a lot of money.

        or you can take 10 dollars worth of ingredients and make a good lasagna ..where actually preparing it take 15 minutes and cooking it another hour .. and letting it set before you eat.. even letting it set a full day ..

        or you can sit there imagining eating a good lasagna ..and going through the step you learn in law of attraction courses ..and hope someone just shows up with lasagna ..

        a lot of the blocked or non manifested ..items are most likley because people are taking route 3 ..

        method one .. can be fun .. and has it's place

        method two if you can cook .. and you planned ahead of time so you have the stuff to make lasagna..can be great for the person cooking.. well i know it is when i make it lol .

        method three is part of the proccees but requires a pattern .. so if you are thinking od lasagna chance are the only way it will come .. is from those around you who know you like it..and as they are somewhere they can buy it ..when you think of it they think of you..or someone you know who make it contacts you and says guess what .

        and for the make it yourself .. route you can chose you want to make lasanga .abd then a new exciting recipe shows up and when you are shopping for the ingredients ..all of them or the main ones are on sale ..

        ..so there is a difference between work and action ..letting the stove cook the meat is not work but it is and action ..letting what had been cooked set for and amount of time ..is not work but it is the right action .

        attraction is two words appear as one ..attract and action ..so the thing youmight be attracting are the actions you need to take ..now if you are trying to command the proccoss so it only come one way..it may not work well .

    Like you said repetition! Its all about developing the right habits that later in life we can continue to perform without having to force ourselves. I believe it is important to do what you want for 21 days straight.
    For example if you want to get in better shape you better go to the gym everyday for 21 days and make your body and mind remember your routine. The reason i give this example is because you should be working out 7 days a week because your body needs to rest, but for the first 21 days you still need to make your self go to the gym and walk through the motions so that you reprogram your brain to align with your desires.

    The secret ingredient to everything is proper action and time. Don't give up on yourself. March forward for 21 days and then see how you feel.

      When affirmations aren't aligned with your "true beliefs", then the affirmations will never work.

      Telling yourself that you are thin when you "know" that you are really fat isn't going to work. Deep down you know that you are BS'ing yourself.

      Your feelings or actions are a guidance system that will tell you if what you are doing is aligned with true yourself or not.

      The only way you can tell a person's true intention is by the results they have. Results and intention are always one and the same. You cannot have an intention without a corresponding result.

      People say that they want to lose weight, but deep down they would rather eat and not exercise. They may have a temporary weight loss but it will surely followed by a weight increase, back to their "true selves".

      People say that they want to be successful in IM (or MMO) but yet there is something deep down they really don't want to do or "fear" and this will stop them from succeeding.

      The key is to raise your intention so high that you have to get the goal. Your highest intention, whatever that is, will always win out.

      If you believe you can or can't you are right.

      Your "true beliefs" create your success (or not). Your beliefs truly become self-fulfilling prophecies - your beliefs drive your actions and you will never act in a way that is misaligned with your "true beliefs".

    I think the most important component is action. You can visualise day and night till the cows come home but if you do not take action, it's nothing more than daydreaming.

    If you visualise having a good body, get your butt to the gym.
    If you visualise wealth, then create opportunities for wealth to flow into your life.

    Attraction = attract + action

    I like these types of articles because it wasn't until the last couple of years that I realize that I could be my worst enemy. Someone said if your belief system is not serving you them you need to reevaluate. That is exactly what I have been doing. In doing so, I have found that my thoughts and limiting beliefs have been crippling me and my abilities to get things done. Now I am on a journey to live my best life possible by removing blocks that have been created by myself and/or my surroundings.

    With consistent action each and every day and the right attitude and beliefs you can accomplish whatever you desire. Once you realize that nothing in this world is handed to anybody (unless you are one of the many people who feel entitled) and you must work hard to set up a business you can attract the right things in your life.

  • There is another reason why people are unable to make the law of attraction work for them. It is due to how the human brain is designed to work. We all have one brain but two minds. A conscious rational logical mind and the million times more powerful emotional subconscious mind that is programmed to help us survive and keep us from change which it views as danger. Guess which one always wins?

    The subconscious mind is also running our lives on autopilot for 95% of our lives and is basically like a recording device that plays back stored events and experiences stored in our brain from past events. Whenever a new idea comes from the much weaker conscious mind, the subconscious compares it to what is stored and if it is in conflict, that new idea is bared from entry and deleted.

    In order to make lasting changes, it will first be necessary to change the old programs from those that no longer serve you to ones that will overwrite the past ones that no longer allows improvements to be made.Will power or repetition alone can only make a temporary change before the subconscious reverts back to its old past programs and bad habits or self defeating programs again that run your life.

    Only by catching the subconscious mind in the record instead of the playback mode can changes become permanent. I know this because I am working with Dr Robert Anthony who is a foremost expert in the study of the human mind. He is also a qualified clinical hypnotist and has authored several best selling books including "Beyond Positive Thinking." Have you read it? Everyone should.

      Others have said this in similar ways -- change your mindset. Attract positivity when you throw away negative thinking and focus on what you can do to change for the better. Even if things are not working right now, sooner or later something is going to happen that will make you smile and lets you think about all of your hard work. Just don't give up and quit at the first onslaught of hardship. Focus on what you can bring to the table and be thankful.
