How long would you want to live, if.................

33 replies
Hey Guys,

I asked this question to some friends and got some
interesting responses:

"If you could live as long as you wanted and could
have perfect health and lots of money; how long
would you choose to live?"

One friend said a million years! I thought that was
bonkers. Most said they would still go with a normal
life span by today's standards.

I said about 200 years,

What do you guys say???

      We do live forever but not on this plane.

      Would you want to live forever on this plane
      of existence if you knew there were far superior
      places to reside?

      And, if you lived forever here..........would you
      just keep making new friends and getting new
      wives endlessly?

    i am aiming for 150-200 years this lifetime though i doubt my real teeth will make it another 5 lol ..

    in any case it doesn't just happen there are thing people who live a very long time and stay healy tend to do ..and not do ..and they live among others who value them and they stay productive ..

    though i know the plan i am not on the plan yet though i have been shifting into more of it .

    the first shift to have an actual long happy life ..is not to try and add years to your life ..but more life into your years ..doing things that make your day to day life better and more enjoyable to live..without risking the length of your life .

    no point in taking the safest path to the grave ..if its not a fun path

    Excellent topic Don!

    I am hoping this is my last lifetime. I do believe in reincarnation.

    It doesn't matter if I had a billion dollars. I wouldn't want to live longer than any of my kids. 80 years old is fine enough for me.

    Both my grandparents on my fathers side lived very close to 100 years of age.

      Hi Rory,

      I am with you on reincarnation. It would be great
      to have liberation from the physical plane.

      Yes, it we lived longer than 150 years or so, any
      children would probably be gone. Grandchildren?
      Probably gone. Maybe great-grandkids or great-
      great-grandkids would be around?

      And, you would have to keep making younger friends.

      My mother lives in a senior mobile-home park. She
      is getting a bit discouraged, (79 years old). The body
      is slowly declining. Most of her friends have some
      sort of serious ailment or have already died.

      No one would want to live to be 200 if they suffered
      for the last100 years. That is why I added that we would
      have perfect health as long as we live. Still it would get
      a little old after a few thousand years, eh?

        at some point time would not matter .. the point of short life spans is grasp the importance of time ..

        here is a thought game.. any argument you use against a very long life ..edit over so its the same argument but against building your own business ..or getting wealth or getting rich..

        look your choice is to live like most people with the same mind set .. amount of wealth.. level of health..and a lifespan where you ..

        anyway if you do not become wealthy on a basic level and in control of how you earn money .. you won't have access to the longevity therapies that will be available to keep people young and vital..

        you will work untill you are no longer productive in any ways the everything you worked to earn will be slowly sucked away by medicle bill while you health declines and overtime you will decay and maybe spend the last few months or years of your life in a long term care facility ..so that every bit of moey you earned and saved and any insurance you had is completly depleted

        so yes accept the average lifespan of today .. that will probably increase by the time you get there unless you develop cancer or some other terrible disease .

        or you can put health and wealth on equal footing .. and build both at the same time .

        if you get to where you in your money in a way that give you both meaning and joy in your life while supporting your lifestyle ..

        and you will get to that point and be there the rest of your life no retirement ..

        a lot of the reason there is the decline in the elderly ..is getting as old as they got was kind of a surpise ..and they didn't chane bad eating habits if they changed them ..untill after the medical problems that take decades to develop ..showed up and did their damage ..

        a longevity minded wealth building lifestyle ..is the best path to go ,,but if you have not been on it for the first 30 40 or more years of your life it take several years to fully figure out and implement the stratagies

    this isn't some casual thought experiment for me .. i have been ajusting my action for the last 2 plus years to adopt a longevity based mindset and adopting as much of the lifestyle changes as i could ..

    watching and taking care of my parents untill they both passed on this year within 4 months of each other ..they where together 43 years apart less than four months .. lucky to have a good insurance plan and my fathers retirement package ..

    bot in their last years much of the fixed income was going to pills/ co pays and they physically couldn't do much and what kept them alive was arguing with each other about money ..

    of course if we have this or any other vision of old age ..picking what we can out of the many examples we can find..the thought of living twice as long as people do today..is un fathomable

    people can get rich quick but many lose it .. people who build wealth buy saving money from every paycheck ..until there is a time where ther invested money earns them enough to live on ..don't just happen to build wealth

    if you want to grow old and stay in good health.. it will take some effort .. and long term planning ..

    so do you want the average lifespan with the same end of life deal the average person is getting now ? or do you want to shoot for double the average and more

        tap in to the light body..the higher self the soul..and memories of past lives to have a richer more rewarding experience in the present body you have

        apperently the galacric federation of light forgot to land it mother ships in 2012 and give everyone new light bodies ..and the world forgot that it was supposed to end ..

        so we are on a new plan..where we have to get more comfortable in our phyical bodies and do what we can to have a much better life experience ..

        and the information for that much better experience comes from the body ..learning to listen to it's needs..and then learning to us intuition ..and further allowing the non physical parts of you to comunicate..sometimes it will be an out of the blue vizualization.. but for me ..it been sudden search terms.. or all of a sudden in a few days i will hear a brand new concept and it will come from several different places ..

        the question to ask yourself .."if i have another 50 ,100, 150 years " how long do i continue to put of really living my life "

        my answer to that was not the best one because i was taking care of my elderly parents .. but seeing what they went through the last years of their lives ..it gave me a wealth of things i would rather not do..

        anyway i am 36 ..even if i only live to the ages my parent lived that gives me another 40 years ..and i am not going to suffer through the next 30 in hopes of haveing the last 10 to 20 be easy ..

          Body of light in the higher realms, not on the physical plane.

          If you read some accounts of "near-death" experiences, you get
          an idea.

          The movie "Ghost" had some of these ideas. Most people after
          leaving the physical would move on and not hang around earth.
          And so did Sam Wheat after he accomplished saving his sweetheart,.

        Seneca: The Shortness of Life.

        It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it. Life is long enough, and a sufficiently generous amount has been given to us for the highest achievements if it were all well invested. But when it is wasted in heedless luxury and spent on no good activity, we are forced at last by death's final constraint to realize that it has passed away before we knew it was passing. So it is: we are not given a short life but we make it short, and we are not ill-supplied but wasteful of it... Life is long if you know how to use it.

        The Shortness of Life: Seneca on Busyness and The Art of Living Wide Rather Than Living Long | Brain Pickings

        "The greatest obstacle to living is expectancy, which hangs upon tomorrow and loses today... The whole future lies in uncertainty: live immediately."

        Lucius Annaeus Seneca: On the Shortness of Life

        But one man is possessed by an avarice that is insatiable,

        another by a toilsome devotion to tasks that are useless;

        one man is besotted with wine, another is paralyzed by sloth;

        one man is exhausted by an ambition that always hangs upon the decision of others,

        another, driven on by the greed of the trader, is led over all lands and all seas by the hope of gain;

        some are tormented by a passion for war and are always either bent upon inflicting danger upon others or concerned about their own;

        some there are who are worn out by voluntary servitude in a thankless attendance upon the great;

        many are kept busy either in the pursuit of other men's fortune or in complaining of their own;

        many, following no fixed aim, shifting and inconstant and dissatisfied, are plunged by their fickleness into plans that are ever new; some have no fixed principle by which to direct their course, but Fate takes them unawares while they loll and yawn--
        You can find Seneca's entire book online here, Lucius Annaeus Seneca: On the Shortness of Life

        You can find it on YouTube. Part 1 is here,

        Still, if I had the option to live forever, I would take it.

    the sort lifetimes we have are to relive use from the drugery of what life as a human can get to be .

    it takes a complete change in mindset and a different view of life ..yes we might be able to live 150 200 or 300 years ..but at what physical age would you prefer your body to stay ..would you like to always have the phyical condition you had at 20 or 30 ..or just find you peak and stay there ..

    uncouple calender aging from physical aging and the rethink what and how you would want to live ..

    so stage one is to protect and nurture your health while you build enough wealth that generates income without you having to work .

    also having a lifestyle that allows you to enjoy living rather than working all the time just to live and survive ..what if you owned a house you planned to stay in for a hundred years ..so you payed it off ass fast as you could..then ..you had enough land that you could grow fruit trees and other long term crops that supported most of your food needs .

    and your house was built so that you didn't need a lot of outside fuel to keep it warm in winter and cold in summer ....

    the work you do defines you and can either wear you down or build you up .. and most people are trained to make life a struggle even if it does not need to be .
