What do you mean by that? I've heard that from Pope Francis.

Not sure what Pope meant. To me reality is outcome of ideas.

What is happening in the real world should take precedence over ideals.

In other words - look at things as they are not as you want them to be.

Reality in itself is not exactly something that can be entirely grasped by our minds. That would somewhat be omnipotence.

    I respectfully disagree.

I feel that we have the power to create the world we want to live in.

As to mtdeffelyjr point, reality is based on each persons perception and how you view things.

To just accept things and say that is the way it is and that it's reality, leaves you powerless. No one wants to feel powerless and just throw up your hands and say..."Well that's Reality" or "I'm just being real".

All great inventions and great changes have come from people being UNREALISTIC and not looking at how things are, but what could be.

We are all special and can do great things by questioning so called "Reality" and asking more powerful questions like "WHAT IF"?

We can all create a better Reality!

I think what is meant here is that there should be feedback. Yes, you have great ideas that could solve a problem. But in reality, your first solution isn't really a fix to the problem. Only when you spend time immersing yourself to the situation would you find the true answer to the problem.

though i am a fan of the pope

it may be worthwile to restrict the meaning to something to do with the church or the catholic church ..and guess the meaning that way .

now it would help if i had the context of what was said around the quote ..

sometime there are things the go on where the people involved know the reality of what is going on and see the bigger picture..where as people observing parts of what is going on may have quite a few ideas of what is going on ..

but it is hard to give more than ideas about what the pope could have meant ..without the context in which it was sail ..

the world we live in today is full of quotes ..that have been made to mean something completly different than what the person who said them meant .
