This 1 Small Action Creates Millionaires...

....Before I let you in on this little, forgotten and indispensable secret, I want to share with you a little experience.

It was June and muggy as all hell but, it was finally TIME TO GRADUATE, Finally I can get that awesome $60,000 a year marking job I'v been waiting for, for 6 months!

I had an awesome internship at a Local Ad Agency in the area, that I had done a lot of PPC and Integrated marketing work for. They were eager to get my started at $60,000 ( Well more like $48,000 but I know I had to start SOMEWERE!)

I had a little re-interview set up with the owner of the agency, but who are we kidding I had the job in the bag, right!!

WRONG

... Come to find out the owner of the ad agency, (I dare not name for legal reasons) was stealing his clients money and contacts.

YES, This was going on when I was an Intern, all of that hard work was going to waste.. and I was doing it for FREE! (Damnit!)

I Drove home, bewildered about what just had append to me.

The next few months I was in and out of interviews for sales Jobs with crap pay, I needed money to pay off my Student Loans ($40,000.. It was A lot then) You Know!

I had some previous experience before dabbling in affiliate marketing and SEO. I thought to myself, "Hell what else do I have to lose".. Come to find out.. the rest of my savings (lol)

Program after program, new tactic after new tactic, and every ezine auto poster, I had enough! Nothing was working for me anymore, It is a different set of rules from a few years ago.

I was at a crossroads.. and I wasn't thinking very highly of myself, In fact Every other sentence that I spoke was filled with personal insults to myself.. because of my failures.

..... I was still working at my Part time job at an Auto Parts store just to get buy so I could eat and pay for my internet.

One of my managers Robert was always tediously working on the end of the counter every day I came in... With a disgruntled look on my face again, he looked at me and smirked, "Another great interview huh..?'

I Laughed and explained to him they didn't have what I wanted.

Now Bob used to own 200+ Unit complex in the 80's until the housing market took a dump and lost it.

He also owned a Book Business and several gas stations.. Oh yea he was an old school gritty Entrepreneur..

I leaned over to see what he was scribbling on a winkled up invoice. It was Stock Market gibberish Alpha's & Betas, Resistance and Spreads

( Calm down this has nothing to do with the stock market )

See Bob was 65 Years old and he was still teaching himself new things up until last year when he passed away.

I WAS CRUSHED

He taught me so many Aspects of business and finance, they just didn't teach you in College or in LIFE for that matter. Only the Wealthy had such a wealth of information...

Then It hit me... Bob would always say to me College doesn't teach you anything else but to Learn.

Learning Doesn't Stop after College or High schools, It never stops.. It is passed down from Person to Person, Father to son

or Mentor to ... Mentee? Anyways.. The Secret to Becoming Wealthy is...

    1. Get to the point faster. Your story may be interesting but I was looking for the promise in the topic name.

    2. So the secret is educating yourself?

I've read 56 books in 2014. You are right, up to a point.

What I've understood lately it is that reading alone won't cut it.

Yes, you can read. And yes, some concepts will stick and they will become a part of you.

But you know what's even better?

To take those concepts and put them to action. To read a book 10 times instead of ten books one time and to take notes every single time.

Then to transform those notes into actionable steps.

Because knowledge alone is not power. Knowledge applied into actual execution is power.

Knowing that a morning routine is good for me is nice.

Taking that knowledge and creating a morning routine that I follow is GREAT.

In the end, your, mine, everyone's aim is NOT to be a real world Wikipedia.

Instead it is to be competent.

So if I may add on your advice ...

... read good business books and take notes. Transform those notes into practical steps you can actually apply in the real world. And then apply them. Reading is just the first step. A good idea applied from a single book is better than 500 ideas in your head that are never acted upon.

Yea, I have to work on my copy writing, not my strong point haha.

However, I totally agree with you. in order to really understand a topic in detail, you must follow it with actionable steps.

My one and only tip I can give anyone: find what moves you and move. I had billions of dollars in ideas in my head, before I started to take action on some of them, and I still find rarely the motivation to make the first step, than the second, than the third etc... its all in small steps

the more you learn the more you learn you do not know..

but ..the more you learn the thing you may eventually figure out is the fastest way you assimilate information ...

at one point i had owned 200 book and had read parts of another 1k books .. but i am down to no library right now .

i stopped buying and reading books just before ..the big bookstores started going out of business ..

i have interest in about a hundred plus different topics right now ..a big plus ..

anywhere from the long term trend in climate change going back thousand and hundred thousands of years ..to 3d printing .. varios farming related topics .. and the comming fully automated future ..

most books on these subject are not worth reading ..but there are podcasts ..interviews articles you tube videos ..lots of different methods to get informed ..

again .. step into the present when it comes to self education ..with many thing the best way to learn can be forums like this on different topics .. once you learn to ignor the dogmatic BS ..

Yeah. Agreed reading books will increase your knowledge and wisdom. But real life encounters and experience are also very important. I'm more into learning through observing and interacting with the society first-hand than through books.

Books are great for learning theory, but then you need to put it into practice, and then maintain your ability. Teaching people is one way to process these theories into your way of living. I have found that Solo travel has been indispensable on allowing me to integrate theoretically important things into my practised daily life.
