Repeating what you want over and over in your head

I work in sales and what I have noticed is that whenever I continually repeat to myself "I will get a lead" over and over in my head with conviction and energy 8/10 times I usally do.

Whenever I'm just going through the motions and dialing but my mind is all over the place I don't seem to be able to produce results even though I'm still making the same amount of calls etc.

Why do you think this is?

    Not sure, to be honest.

I would guess that if you think you're going to get a sale, you'll be more relaxed/confident/abundant instead of "trying" for the sale (which would be communicated to your prospect(s)) Also, the mind has a wonderful way of creating what you expect to happen.

In any case, if it's working keep doing it. : )

So you think it's do with expectations? How do expectations influence human behaviour?

Well let's say you approach a beautiful woman expecting that she will find you attractive ... With that mindset you will actually act "attractive" and that will make her attracted to you. However if you expect to be "rejected" that will cause her to think less of you.

Simply put, your thoughts create your reality.

And by thinking positive empowering thought regarding to phoning prospects, that will be communicated to them. "Confidence" (AKA "I will get a lead") is universally attractive and is an important component in the persuasion process.

        That's my guess, anyway.

Fantastic you seem like a great guy to chat to and have really cleared this up for me. Thanks!

Can you help me? How do I "expect" girls to find me attractive? Do you have any techniques that you have found particularly effective? Should I just repeat to myself with energy and conviction "I am attractive" or "I'm too sexy for my shirt"

Lol. You can if you like. Just forget about being "friends" though. : P

Seriously, you "expect" girls to find you attractive because you're a cool guy and you have approached lots of women and know what to say and how to act. (Both of which can be improved.)

Haha thanks! So I'll just repeat to myself over and over again something like "I will get her number" or "I am very attractive" do you that will work?

well before you approach a beutifull woman have you done the work to be attractive to beautiful women ..now if you are just looking for a hot night with a very attractive woman..you can study pick up ..or game .. and part of that involves going up to attractive women and practicing ..

now if you want a long term relationship.. with a very attractive woman..hit the gym get and stay in shape ..and learn to make good money

when you speak or write down what you intend ..so you or others can read or listen to it ,,it activate the subconscious or the intuitive part of the body to being making it happen ..
unfortunately we prone to activating with self depricating language ..and reams of list of what we no longer want or don't like

Dreamer, you do good that you repeat this words in your mind, but is not enough 8/10 times. You need to repeat only successful words in your head, something like " today i will make money" you don't know exactly how, but you will do if you believe in this and if you work on sales, you will see good results in short time. If you didn't watch yet the movie The secret- Law of attraction i suggest and you will see what i am talking about.

well in your head is one think ..but out of you mouth and into your or others ears..or in writing is far more powerful ..

now i have really never done sales and not to be a begative ninny..but isn't selling leads where you should put your effort in..

speaking you intent to other is far more powerful than letting it turn over and over in your head ..

Because when you repeat something over and over again. You mind focuses on it and believe it.

I teach my students this same method because it works and they get amazing results!

This is one of my many mind tricks!

One of my Student's discuses it more here in greater detail in the link below..

In fact since he posted it other people have changed their lives with it too.

When you change one persons life it has crazy ripple effect as you'll see below:

Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rick) covers this in a series of audio lectures. It is called "Napoleon Hill: In his own words". Repeating something to yourself over and over again is basically a way to condition you subconscious mind and get the powers of the universe working in your favor. Your subconscious mind will believe anything that you tell it over and over again. If you repeat it enough and have FAITH that you can achieve it and that you deserve it, your subconscious mind will work in powerful ways to make it happen. Napoleon Hill can explain it much better than I can but he calls it the only pathway we have to infinite intelligence. AMAZING stuff.

Yes. Perfect. It's the law of attraction. Thoughts become things. You're also "saying" it right and focusing on what you WANT rather than what you DON'T want. Too many times people are repeating things in their head about how much they don't want something or how bad they feel that they aren't accomplishing something. It's all about focusing on what you want. Your subconscious has no sense of humor, it will accept anything you give to it. If you continue to feed it the right information, it will accept it as truth.

Well, you're focusing solely on what you want and your mind will subconsciously do whatever it can to make that happen. I've experienced similar results when I focus on the positive and truly believe that I will get a positive outcome.

If you do it with "passion" and conviction it will probably make a difference. (At least initially.) Certainly won't do any harm.

Because that's how affirmations work best.

Our mind is very powerful. It can reach greater heights given the right motivation. My explanation is this – if you think positive and direct your energy into that thought you actually attract positive things. In your case, thinking that you can get a lead and actually believing that you can really get it makes you more determined to make the call, give the best pitch and convince people.

That's a great way of looking at it thanks!

Are there any techniques to squash negative thoughts/patterns?

If you're going to do something worthwhile, it's best to give it your all.

Conviction, no matter how big or small it is to an endeavor, it still remains as a part of a successful whole.

It's that and it's really very hard to make a turn out over phone call sales.

This is how the universe works. If you've ever used a compass, you'll notice the world runs on magnetic poles.

Essentially, it's just like when you're in the dream at night, and you decide you want something to come to you, or be brought to you.

Whatever is brought to you, and whether or not you get the results you want, primarily depends on your emotions.

For example, in the dream you want a to go away, but you don't feel like it will, and it doesn't.

But, if you feel that overwhelming power inside yourself, and decide that same decision that you want the monster go away, you're stronger than it, and it disappears.

This force you're asking about is just nature at work.
