Being Courageous
People think that it means not being afraid of something. Like
the Super Heroes we see in the movies.
However the true definition—in my experience—is that
"courage" means being afraid of something and then doing
It anyway. As Mark Twain said:
"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear—not
absence of fear."
Every time you're afraid of something there’s an opportunity
to be courageous. And it doesn't have to be something
"extravagant." Even the little acts of courage build your
self-esteem and belief in yourself.
Let's face it sometimes life can be tough. There's a multitude
of trials, tribulations, and challenges. However because of
this fact there is also an abundance of opportunities to
overcome everything you're afraid of. As Christopher Reeve
said:
"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to
persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."
So make the decision today that you're not going to hide from
your fear(s) and will face them instead …(Thereby being
courageous and the "Hero" of your own life.)
