It happened on a quiet night in Paris.

I was working there whilst building my online business and I became very aware of an internal struggle.

Struggle when pursuing one's goal can be made up of many variables however the effect of it is similar to all, like being squeezed by a large crowd at a concert as you try to make your way to the exit. It is a cluster of thoughts, feelings and actions that impede you from thinking, doing and being in alignment with what you want to achieve.

When successful people talk about the struggle and overcoming it, we as aspiring successes, (though we ought to be in a state of success before experiencing it in the world of form) think that the struggle is some far away and complex experience to be dealt with in the near future, we are waiting for it.

The thing is it is present in every moment that a choice must be made to move forward with our goals, these actions are often not what we're familiar/comfortable with and therefore a conflict arises within us.

The most encouraging aspect about this is that it indicates we are making progress, this is the perspective that can be taken to overcome it at any time. The fact that there is resistance means that you are evolving into a better self and making your way towards your goals, it's not hard, it's just a new experience.

So what happened in Paris? I became aware that instead of resisting the struggle and giving it power I could embrace it. I could smile when it arised in me because I knew that it meant I was getting closer to my goals and that I was changing to become a better version of myself. This is the moment I truly knew nothing could stop me.

What does it mean to me now/What can you take away from this? It means that I am paying the price of success by learning the required skills, developing the required habits and allowing myself to be in a state of attainment of my goals before they are physically real. If you find yourself struggling realise you are in a process most successful people have been through. Do not give up, welcome it.

Daniel, thanks for sharing your insights on the power of struggle and how to embrace one's personal struggle.

we all experience struggle differently Since different people come from different backgrounds and have different experiences, we all experience struggle differently.

From my own personal perspective, the struggle is all about my mental habits.

For the longest time, I would look at certain situations and always assume a negative meaning.

This was especially true when I look at putting time, effort, and energy into a project and nothing seems to come out of that project.

negative mental associations I make all sorts of negative mental associations.

It dawned on me that I was struggling the wrong way.

looking at your project as an adventure Struggling, for me, at least, is all about looking at your project as an adventure.

opportunity to learn achieve better results It is all about figuring out an opportunity to learn and achieve better results.

It is like taking a journey and your job is to go to a much higher level.

negative emotional response Back in the past, I would look at my struggles and I would have a negative emotional response.

lousy results Not surprisingly, I was producing lousy results.

Things truly changed achieve great success Things truly changed for me and this has helped me achieve great success with my e-commerce business when I welcome my struggle.

look at them as challenges Instead of looking at struggles as dead ends or as negative judgements of my character and my limitations, I look at them as challenges.

It is a challenge to open a new door and explore a new gateway.

In short, I rediscovered the adventure of being entrepreneur.

This has completely changed the kind of results I have been getting and it has really made me a much happier and more content person.

    I agree wholeheartedly with you.

embracing the struggle and internalizing the struggle change us for the better It is all about embracing the struggle and internalizing the struggle in such a way that they change us for the better.

I read this somewhere and it is very true:

If you are not struggling, you are not growing as a leader.

Usually the path with the most resistance is the path we desperately need to take. Like you said, we need to embrace the discomfort and stop letting negative emotions control our actions. Face your fears, and just embrace the fact that you're alive and have the opportunity to do something great, but you have to be willing to accept the good and the bad.

  • I once heard the expression: Troubles are opportunities presenting themselves.

The point is, I must have heard the same sentence hundreds of times, and it never stroke as more than a "cleverish quote".
I then saw the logical trail behind the sentence. It wasn't important because it pretended to be empowering. It was important because it underlied a constant truth, attitude denounces the height and achievements. Some people can manage to make the most out of struggles. And that's how empires have been build.

You got a strong point going on here mate. Thank you for sharing it with the others.

The struggle is the price that every entrepreneur must pay in order for them to become successful. Those who avoid it or try to go around it will never reach their ultimate goal.

And even if they do reach their goal it would have taken them much longer then needed.

Face the struggle head on my friend.

Give yourself permission to make mistakes. Some of the biggest entrepreneurs are constantly making mistakes and what most Warriors don't realize is that making mistakes is part of the game and its unavoidable.

Wanting to make sure your doing the right thing is usually where this kind of thinking comes from in my personal experience.(Not saying this is your cause just sharing my experience) I got out of this way of thinking by understanding that its ok to make mistakes and failure is inevitable.

Failure is fine. Just don't give up.

Give yourself permission to make mistakes.
