Need traffic? Laziness is your friend

A lot of people have a very negative view of laziness...

They think it is some sort of moral flaw

For the most part, they are correct...

If you are lazy and you are always looking for shortcuts, it's very easy to cross the line from legit ways of doing things to THE DARK SIDE of doing things.

It's very easy to focus on building tons of low quality pages and play the CHURN AND BURN game.

I get all that.

However, there is a BRIGHT side to laziness too many people miss...

They don't want to see it or they are BLIND to it

What's the bright side?

Being lazy can force you to be a better manager of your RETURN ON EFFORT

You look to maximize $$$ while putting in as little TIME and EFFORT as possible.

In short, your laziness forces to be more EFFICIENT.

You can INVEST funds in EFFICIENCY

You can INVEST in more innovative ways to boost RETURN on EFFORT.

Laziness isn't always bad.

Remember, just as LABOR is INTERCHANGEABLE with CAPITAL, money is interchangeable with ANALYSIS and BRAIN POWER.

    I think i agree?

I agree that people who are lazy will find easier routes to "success", but the "success" of a lazy person is nothing compared to the success of someone who has put countless hours of work and energy into something...well i guess the lazy person would argue otherwise.

Sure, there are some pros to finding more efficient routes, but in the long run, are you really setting yourself up for lasting success, probably not.The mentality of relying on laziness to put simpler methods won't take many far, unless you have billions like Mr. Gates.

Alot of people in my family thinks that i am lazy. They claim all i do is lay down in my bed all day, and say, "I'm tired . I'm so tired."

Yeah... tired from waking up at 6am to work at a job who can only afford to pay me $8.16/hour.

But none of them can understand what the term "continuity program" means. Nor do any of my family members make the kind of income that i am making. So how the heck am i lazy?

Even one of Einstein's college professors called him a "Lazy Dog". Yet his contributions to science and mankind as a whole will forever be legendary and legacy is secured in the fabric of *space and time*.

Bill Gates quote is true. The man is rich for a reason.

  • It 's like we avoid things that bring you pain and move towards things that brings you pleasure.

Just because a picture of a billionaire is on an image with a quote next to it, doesn't make the quote or statement true.

A lazy person won't spend hours or even days to write a book for a lead magnet, they will outsource it if they have the money.

But lazy people often don't have money. So they will never write the book, never build the online sales funnel with lead magnet, auto-responder, email sequence, front-end products, one time offers, high ticket back-end products.

a lazy person will never spend the time to research all this, and therefore never freaking ever make money online.

So in my opinion, being lazy keeps you stuck.

Being proactive in writing your first book will give you the educated experience of doing it yourself , and then truly understanding the reason for paying someone else to do something for you to free up time for you to focus on growing your online business instead of focusing on working hard in your online business for very little reward.

It pays well to know how to do the tasks necessary to run your business yourself, but it's wise to outsource those tasks to others while you focus on your next money making ideas

Not to plug my signature-lol but i put out the Lazy (Yet Smart) Man's Way To Pay Per Click Profits-With Facebook and Google...

And nothing to do with really being a bum, but it's about taking the easiest, smartest, fastest path.

Success often does take a lot of work in anything, but by breaking that "big mission or goal" into little chunks (things easy to do), you can still achieve a lot of results and see success along the way to reaching the big goal or final mission.

That's why. I say use laziness to your advantage. But not as in looking for short-cut but more efficient ways or doing things that matter.

Remember also the 80-20 rule. 20% of the work actually produce 80% of the result.. use laziness to focus on the 20%

You can be lazy but it is no excuse for not taking any actions.

    my 2 cents~

This quote is a little disturbing... What then, if an employer asks about your weaknesses at an interview, should you say I am lazy? Should you say it is rather a strength? This sounds so bad for the hard-working people who even when working part-time do more work than those who work full-time, for example.

I've always figured that there are four types of people in the world.

Those who don't work hard and don't work smart.
Those who work hard but don't work smart.
Those who don't work hard but work smart.
Those who work hard AND work smart.

Guess which end up being the most succesful?

I find that Bill Gates quote ironic, considering he was an incredibly hard working person. Microsoft didn't get where it was just because he had a good idea.

Totally agree with you here. But in the quote he never says he didnt work hard. Just that he delegated difficult tasks to lazy people - so they find the easiest way to get it done.

I don't know if this makes sense to you guys.. but I believe success comes to people who are lazy, and then hardworking.

Being lazy at first to let you want to figure how to make things work more efficiently, obtaining more results for your work. Once you figured that out, be hardworking and stay focused on the goal.

    That's what I believe.

The problem is most types of labor people are familiar with, there's not a "lazy" way to do it. The janitor has to clean the bathroom or the bathroom stays dirty, the doctor has to do surgery or the person dies, the tech support guy has to actually -do- tech support or nobody will talk to them.

Entrepreneurs are different. We hire a guy to make a plastic that stays clean longer. We write an app for that. We build a team of 80 tech support guys and run the marketing.

    We're "lazy" but it's a good lazy.

Ummmm, I haven't ever heard, seen, observed, or even rumored to have heard of anybody ever passing a job interview to become employed by saying they are lazy.

A smart, motivated person who knows that to get more done in less time has to find the most efficient and effective way in accomplishing something well will do it in the least amount of time.

I can't find any laziness in that. (If that is what you are saying then right on!)

I think what OP meant is that (sometimes) laziness can cause a person to be more efficient/find a more efficient way.

Yes, I get that but laziness by just about any definition means to "not" be doing anything. So if you were truly lazy nothing would ever get done. Not even something efficient. Laziness, in this case, really means to work smart.

But a marketing tactic is this. To say you can make easy money fast. Only it almost never works. So I get that working better is the key. Which I said. But to mislead people because that is the way the game is played can be tricky. It works if it reaches people who are already doing something or are overworking.

Being easy to understand helps people to actually be able to perform. But then nobody cares because it is boring. An interesting problem resolved by enticing people to do what works instead. It's what all good marketing does for us.

      Good point.

When having a discussion, I think it's important to look at the "contextual meaning" of a statement, not necessarily the "literal meaning."

In this instance what writeaway and Bill Gates mean is someone who isn't willing to work "hard" and/or put much effort into something. Consequently- which I mentioned before- because of that they find a more efficient and effective way of accomplishing something.

That's just a side effect of being relatively lazy and the goal, like you mentioned (IMO) should be to work smart. : )
