Do others troubles bother you more than yours even though yours may be much worse?
Just curious as it does me and wondered if I am totally nutz

When I was younger I used to let others problems become my own, but that was until I realized that I was taking on others problems because I wanted to hide from my own. Now that I confront all of my own problems I find that when others have a problem it does not bother me like it used to, and allows me to give a good point of view while talking to them about the problem.

I think it's good to care about problems others have unless you make them your own problems. It's important to think about others, but if you care more about their problems than your own problems it's not the best way. This just pushes your troubles out of your head but doesn't solve them and sooner or later they will come back. Try to find the balance.

It depends on who the other is.
I feel no pity for the thief that is in jail.
But I do feel for the family of the thief if he has one.
The one exception might be is if this thief stole food to feed his kids and not to support his drug habit.

I do know several people that seem to thrive on other people's problems and are at their best when helping them. But their own problems never seem to get taken care of.
What is connecting between these people is they are all involved in some sort of other people care employment such as nursing, elderly care etc...

Though they make the world a nicer place for others their own worlds seem to be rather chaotic. And for the ones that have children this is not a good thing.
