What's the difference?

How can I tell the difference between HUMILITY and LACK OF AMBITION?

Can we hide "showing off" under a cloak of ambition?

Love to hear your thoughts.

    Interesting question.

Lack of ambition means (IMO) that a person isn't interested in becoming all they can be. (Which, for many people, includes being of "service" to other people ...)

Humility however means that a person doesn't let their drive for success/accomplishment and their results make them believe they are more "significant/important" than they really are. You can be ambitious and humble at the same time. : )

    (Just my opinion.)

I was in a class once and on announcing the grades for the class and hearing
those who got A's a student next to me mumbled, "Over achievers!" That
was the first time I had heard someone complained about another person
    doing well academically.

Sometimes it's hard to tell when people call you "humble" if they really mean
that you could have done better but you didn't. Why prove yourself to be
    better than us?

I think we need humility to reach our ambition...
