It's So Shiny I Have To Buy It...

Imagine if you tried to learn how to play the piano, trumpet, saxophone, and the guitar at the same time.

You wouldn't get good at anything and you would just be below average at playing each instrument.

The same thing goes for online marketing.

If you try to do affiliate marketing, sell solo ads, create your own products, advertise on Facebook, and start a blog all at the same time, you won't get good at anything.

You have to learn how to focus on one thing at a time, get good at it, then move on to the next thing.

I personally suffered from shiny object syndrome for years.

I would buy multiple clickbank products and wsos at once, and I would try to do everything at once, and you can guess what happened.

I was overwhelmed, confused, and I was getting little to no results.

It wasn't until I decided to focus on one business model at a time, that I started getting some consistent results.

If you want to make a consistent $100+ per day, you must find a proven business model, and focus on making that business model work while ignoring any and all other opportunities and distractions.

If you're going to be a blogger, only focus on resources and tools that will help you become a better blogger.

Don't try to be a blogger, YouTuber, and the master of Facebook at the same time.

Find that one thing that you want to specialize in and stick with it until it becomes second nature.

Yes, it's a very distracting (online) world and a key element I found to overcome Shiny Object Syndrome is focusing on the most important goal you want to achieve with a certain system/strategy and then work as fast & as productive as you can to produce results, which will motivate to you keep following that path without distracting yourself.

I agree with what you're saying here man. Fast action is important. We tend to put things off and say "I'll start tomorrow" but that is where procrastination starts. Embrace discomfort and just do what you have to do in the moment. Stop worrying about "what if" and stop wondering if the grass is greener on the other side, just focus on the task at hand and focus on your goals and in time you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.

There is a lot of information overload about internet marketing. For anyone just starting out it probably is really frustrating to choose a certain path. So most of them, they try to wait for the "magic button" and the shinny objects thrown in front of them.

I do agree, the success on any business platform comes with focus and hard work...

My biggest tip to a new beginner would be..stop learning and start doing.

Yeah the problem with online marketing is that there are so many paths one can take. How on earth must a newbie truly know what path to take? The best advice I can give to help newbies avoid information overload, is to spend the first 2-4 weeks learning about the basics of online marketing. During those 2-4 weeks you will stumble across some different business models and methods that you could see yourself doing.

Narrow down your choices to 3 and then narrow those 3 down to 1. Then for the next 90 days, focus on becoming a master at that 1 business model. Block out everything else and only buy training and/or resources that are related to that one business model. Focus 80% of your time on taking action, and 20% of your time on learning.

If you're not able to make at least $1,000-$3,000 per month within 90 days, then you should consider getting a coach/mentor or you need to do a deep analysis of why you're not getting any results.

face book and youtube may go hand and hand trying to build a following with both ..

Mcdonalds may actually go out of business or go bankrupt..they got to busy trying to make better coffee than starbucks and to far away from the fast food being actually fast and cheep model.

honestly though we spend from kthrough 12 learn how and being conditioned to be employees ..and then we live in such a warped ass backwards society ,, you have to spend money or go in debt to get a degree that means we have a shot of getting a job serving coffee at starbucks ..

compare what you would spend going to college.. time and effort and income loss ..to what you spend on shiney object syndrom ..in the internet business realm ,,

long ago i decided against doing an online business ..i have been searching for a business where i realy make something ..because for my mental health i can't actually sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time every day..

but i will mostlike use the internet to market what i make ..

so lets say i get into the first business i want growing gourmet mushrooms drying them and shipping them around the country ....but the internet allows a venue to tell the story of your product ..at low cost

granted it requires a bit more up front investment
