What Are You Waiting For?

Look, there are some people who believe that in order to be successful they must find the right person or opportunity that will make them successful.

That is a big joke. Why?

Well, let me ask you this?

How do you know who is the right person and how do you know what is the right opportunity?

There are tons of amazing people and opportunities, so it is impossible to truly know the perfect one for you.

So, instead of looking for the perfect opportunity or person, you need to look to yourself as the answer to your problems.

You must rely on yourself for your success and believe that you have the power and creativity to be successful.

When you jump on an opportunity you need to look at is a resource that will help you achieve your goals faster but understand that you can achieve your goals with or without the opportunity.

For example, If I wanted to learn how to do SEO (search engine optimization) I may hire an expert to mentor me.

However, I don't look at the expert or coach as the answer to my success, I just look at them as someone who can help me get to my goal faster, because I will reach my goal with o without them.

I'm self-reliant but I also understand that if you have the money to invest into achieving a goal efficiently (or faster) then it is always going to be an intelligent decision.

Michael Jordan was always an amazing and talented basketball player but behind-the-scenes he would work with a guy named Tim Grover to help him improve his game.

The reality is, Michael Jordan was and would continue to achieve his goals without Tim Grover, but Michael understood that Tim Grover would help him achieve his goals faster and more efficiently.

Do you see what I'm saying?

Don't look at a person or an opportunity as your solution to success, instead, look at them as way to help you achieve your goals faster.

You must rely on yourself to make the opportunity to work.

Don't expect your coach or opportunity to just magically create success, you still have to control the outcome by making intelligent decisions continuing to take action and using the
resources around you to achieve your goals efficiently.

Great concept and a very valid point raised that is the determining factor between success and failure.

Procrastination and alibis influence us very easily when we do not have the desire and ambition to achieve something...when our wants are weaker than our haves we will not get up and get going towards our goals

    Desire is the key!

When the desire to achieve a specific goal is all consuming and overwhelming we are able to see every interaction and opportunity where we are for what it could be, not what it is, and then take specific focused action where we are with what we have until the desire outcome and result is achieved.

As all the greats have taught us: when we start working on our goal and taking action with desire, belief and focused intent, we will attract into our lives the necessary resources, skills, coaches and talent that will help us along our path to success!

Awesome point, there's no one that can make you successful except for you!

So many people use this as an excuse as to why they're not where they want to be yet. Excuses like "I'm waiting for the right time" or "I don't know how to do that", are lame because at the end of the day our success always up to us regardless of external factors.

100% true. Making excuses is simply a waste of time and doesn't do anybody any good. If you're not achieving your goals, then you're probably making excuses instead of doing everything you can to make your goals become a reality.

Yes and once you have the desire you will also have unbreakable perseverance which is what leads to great achievement. If you want to achieve some extraordinary then you will need extraordinary motivation which comes from strong desire to see something through.

Great words Trey. Most newbies don't realize that what they are looking for is within themselves. They usually don't see that until they have a coach or mentor guide them and empower them, but once they do, the things they can achieve, are amazing.

Wise words. Finding a mentor/coach is one of the greatest things an individual can do but only if he/she is in the right state of mind. Like you said, newbies and struggling marketers must look within for the answers and use external resources as assistance, instead of trying to rid themselves of responsibility by seeking the perfect opportunity or person to magically grant them success.

Agree with that. There is no one that can make us successful except ourselves. It is all out there. Honestly, this is what makes IM fun. Unlike job, nobody tells us what to do.

I completely agree, there is no reason for waiting around. If you want to start something, do it. The right people will come along the way. Why make yourself dependent on a person that's not even in your life yet?
