Is this a Victory? -or- Failure?
All too often we encounter unwelcomed events, people, or experiences that for lack of a better word are; "univited" -or-"intrusive."
As I was in my zone, writing an email follow up series for a book I am writing, my wife and roommate are out in the backyard jamming tunes... (it's like 11:30 am)
Being we moved into a "fixxer upper" our yard, the exterior of the house, and overall condition is a bit less than desirable.
So, for the 3rd time in just under 3 weeks since we occupied the residence, our neighbor (a mature female 60ish) comes casting stones...
The first 2 times (concerning the overgrown lawn and us not having a doghouse yet for our 6 old month pitbull; Harley... ) - Yet to date, I have politely bitten my lip, and explained... It's a work in progress, we understand your concerns, blah! blah! blah!
(Which the lawns been mowed, raked, and cleaned up since day 2 of our being here... Still, blueprinting the doghouse I gotta build for my son; Harley! When time permits).
Today, was strike three...
I went outside after overhearing her (the lovely neighbor complaing of the music playing) and well; "gave her exactly what she's been silently asking for!" - a beautiful display of prolific intuition spewed from my ever so graceful tongue.
"Look here lady, I've overlooked your bias disregard for my true intellect prior, and from this point forward...remember to consider me the enemy, as you've clearly rendered 'our pressence as such' in your mind, and if you forget to rembember me personally, or my wife and roommate, as YOUR ENEMY - let this resonate in your mind;
" I did not move in to please YOU. We are not out here cleaning this shithole up for YOU. The entire idea that YOU think WE give a f..k what you want or think is a creation of YOUR OWN DILLUSIONS...
So, since I can barely remain true to the greater forces at work, and seldomely respond to even GOD's demands... Remember to Tread with caution lady! -
Lastly, you people live here two months out of the year, if you don't like it... Sell your house, and take your cold-hearted intrusive asses back up North now... Why wait? ... Move now, and have a nice day!

I've lived in Florida for 32 years now, and we see (and deal with) tons of part-time residents... Mostly, old folks with money! Normally, I refrain my tongue... Not TODAY!!!
*Btw, as of today (3 weeks being here) we never had been formely introduced, because she's too busy casting judgments upon us for no valid reason.
So, as I cannot seem to get my head right to finish my follow up emails, I am giving consideration to writing a Gary Halbert style, personalized letter to her address once per week... (Not disclosing it's really from me) And wonder; " Can I use this negative experience to sell her a solution to her obvious stereo-typical behavior?"
Seriously, wouldn't it be a trip if I mail her offers every week for book (I'll write) on;
"How to Deal With Unsightful Neighbors"
"Making Peace With Intrusive People"
"There's Goes the Neighborhood"
Ok, It would take a lil bit of effort, but I can honestly say that to get inside this woman's head, and deliver a powerful philosophical solution at say $9.97 .... Would bring me great pleasure and victory over such superficial nonsense!!!
Especially, if she learned later that just because my wife, roommate, and I are living in a fixxer upper... It was she who oversteps the universal line in the sand.
Personally, I failed to hold my tongue, and if she were a customer, I problem wouldn't respond in such a vulgar manner... But, neither was I selling her anything, and I damn sure am not buying into her theories of superiority...
Yet, I can almost guarantee... I can fix her with powerful written messages, as my other self... As he is quite fluent in cutting through the fat,and delivering solutions.
Unfortunately, my tongue has yet to learn from that which my pen gently conveys, lol.
Ah, deep breath....sigh of relief, ready to finish those email follow ups now, as I use her "problems" as fuel for my next project...

PS - The last thing we (or I) expected was to engage in conflict with our new neighbors... Clearly, we mean well, and do not (and did not) provoke this unmerited behavior... And I personally, do not fare well with bias misdirected people. Hence, I told her where to go! (Respectfully, as possible)
